Pull out a piece of that cooked potato and mash it up with the fork until it's smooth. Mix it in to the stew and you'll have a nice thickened sauce. Also, a little dry rosemary and a bay leaf will bring it to a whole new level. Great video!
@@Macoutdoors361 sounds like a great idea. Summit camps often make great watching for the views and occasional cloud inversions. Also relatable to a wider audience as the footpaths can be recognisable, etc.
You can’t beat a good stew. Have you looked at those Kazan pressure cookers for open fires? They look about the same size/weight as the Petromax but it would seriously reduce your cooking time. Great video.
@@Macoutdoors361 I thought as much. Still, good too hear you are getting more time, it’s very important as I am sure you are well aware pal. Great to see you doing these and working on something you clearly love.
Hi Jimmy not sure of the weight but will check it and send you the info when I'm back. I would probably say yes for two just I tend to take it so I can put all my food in it for packing.
@@Macoutdoors361Its rather impressive how much stuff u can put into it, think i read it was about a liter or one quarts in volume but it looks larger then that. deff getting one and trying out some stew, wanna do somthing with fish since i will be overnight camping and fishing in the morning/evening.
@@Macoutdoors361 Ft4.5 may be overkill for me then. How about with or without legs? I plan to use it camping but would like to use it on a stove indoors too if i can so thinking without
Hi Will...enjoyed the video...the scenery & the meal looked awesome!... Take care & tks for sharing!
Thanks Thomas, an incredibly relaxing day 👍
Nicely done! I'm attempting my first stew in a new petromax pot this weekend, hopefully it turns out as good

Good news about the 5 day week William, although, they will probably still want the same numbers just with a days less I’m sure.
Absolutely but no problem to a man with my talent 😀

Looks very good, where did you get the chain from
Hi it was from the Bushcraft Store website 😊
thats it im getting a petromax too, what size is the one u have?
They are brilliant, it's the FT1 that I have which is the smallest but perfect for me as I just cook for one.

That would be good to do in it, let me know how you get on 😊
Which model is the dutch oven? Petromax FT4.5?
It's the smallest one I thing it's the F1

Did you use any seasoning other than the Guinness?
No I didn't have anything with me, what would you recommend?
@@Macoutdoors361 a wee bit of salt, some garlic, maybe a little cumin.
Will do that next time for sure, thanks 👍
