If I remember correctly APSRTC started using Volvo for Garuda service in 2005, then came Mercedes in 2009. Most probably Mercedes multi axles were running since 2011.
The bikers in the video ending riding in group occupying full road in the curves are inviting an accident for themselves and the incoming traffic. Btw these Volvo drivers are so amazingly talented to maneuver in such conditions
The road should be widened into a "Double Lane Road". Secondly, Mini/Midi Super Luxury Buses need to be introduced by the #KSRTC on these difficult roads of Karnataka. Such long-body Volvo buses are quite difficult to manoeuvre by even the expert drivers, therefore, endangering the valuable lives of passengers.
As a highway engineer, it is quite impossible to construct a two lane road, as cutting of earthwork leads to landslide and many other problems. Would you like that

I have few suggestions 1.The govt should not allow Volvo buses in hills that has hairpin bends.. Instead the Bus operators should operate mini vans from a certain point to the destination. 2.Heavy trucks should not be allowed instead only mini trucks should be allowed. 3.There must be a signal regulation or some kind of mid stop in case of an incoming vehicle.
Why government is not planning to widen this road. They ate generating huge revenue out of this route why not make it more comfortable and less risky .

These huge buses were designed for long-distance, high-speed running on open highways. Not narrow, zigzag mountain roads. Maybe the companies should use smaller minibuses and vans instead.
In this video 18 second scene was there was small width in that road,so driver has to reverse vehicle until that point of road ,or in another way that vehicle should stop in that small width road side until that opposite bus pass through it,👍🏻

There was proposal up for in NHAI but it was put down , due to engineering reasons which was not possible to make either of tunnel or lane widening
