Hello everyone recently I have been wanting to be an orthodox Christian and demons have gotten a hold of me, I have been feeling loneliness, depression, agony, and despair. I really want prayer so may you guys a pray for me
Basically how I’ve been and felt since I was 18. At 31, it’s been almost 13 years now in this state. Letting go is so difficult. But going thru life thinking every person you encounter will let you down is no way to live. Idk if I can ever open myself up again. Ugh
The concept of “sin” was made up to control people (please don’t bother with the etymology, it’s not relevant). It is immoral, very damaging and illogical. Here's how it works; _pretend_ that being Human and Normal is a problem, then _pretend_ that there will be huge consequences if you fail to not be Human (which is, of course, impossible), THEN PRETEND that you've got a solution (which, of course, includes paying money to a church, and giving up some autonomy, thus giving those who promote the con _more power over you)._ It is so hugely damaging a concept that I’m starting to think that spreading it to others should be a criminal offence.
I feel so blessed that Father Paul is my spiritual father! Much love to you father and speedy recovery that we may celebrate the Nativity as a parish family. For all of you around the world, I guarantee that his kind, gentle and challenging words are truly from his heart. Let's just say I've heard that message many a times in confession and spiritual counsel. God bless you Father!
As I undergo radiotherapy, I am struck by the parallel between my physical cancer and my spiritual sin. Each can kill. Both must be removed. And these operations are costly. God bless you, Father.
That was great, you speak so clearly. I’ve visited my local orthodox priest in 2024. Deciding whether to join the church in 2025. But, if i’m totally honest, I’m afraid of the commitment.
i learned asceticism without knowing what it was, from “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” cant understand Christ if you dont do the Father’s will.
"Jesus as a threat" - I had this thought, too, when reading Matthew 2 last week or so. King Herod thinks he has to defend himself against Christ, because he sees himself threatened by the birth of a new king. He is paralyzed and stays in his palace deeming himself safe. The "magoi", seen as kings as it is in Western Europe folk belief, are the opposite of him. They search for Christ and after finding they worship him. They have left the superficial security of their palaces to devote themselves to the king of kings.
10:22 Forgive me, father and whoever might read this. I know very little about fasting, but I have some experience screwing one's health by poor eating choices. Some of the greatest saints haven't avoided this trap, like St. John Chrysostom. I think radical things like skipping entire meals requires much discernment and counsel. Besides, obedience - such as children being obedient to their parents, spouses to each other - is precious in itself; and of course, obedience to the Church which gives general fasting recommendations. I find limiting myself to modest amount of nutritious, but not particularly delicious food being harder than skipping meals altogether; the hardest for me is cutting carbohydrates, the most lenten sort of food.
I’m sorry to sound cold, but your case isn’t special. There are many people who have had it just as bad or even worse than that. It also doesn’t refute the existence of god above either. There is a reason for everything and a lesson to be learned from each and every positive and negative in life. It’s up to you to find what that is for gods purpose for you because you being spiteful because you or I don’t have control in this world in a way we’d like to have. You will never find peace without god, and you will be your own torcher and executioner if you trust in yourself to save yourself. Don’t let your arrogance be the reason god can’t fill your heart and save your soul.
These concepts have existed in Bhagavad Gita and Vedas for over 5,000 years. They have stood the test of time. You are talking about attachment and clinging to the things of the world and overly identified with the body and the senses instead of realizing we are seperate from body and mind and world. The Bhagavad Gita is spoken in such a clear way reading it will feel like having epiphany after epiphany. It is divine. I hope you understand me. We all need to progress spiritually. Not divide and condemn others. 🙏
Wow, so many precious explanations, thank you !

Why am I starting to cry deep tears of pain? I have tremendous pain inside and burning anger and wounds
so far in my experience, that seems to mean that God is softening my heart to my sin and the pain in the world around me, which is a beautiful thing.
One of the most relevant videos I’ve seen on UA-cam in quite a while!!

I LOVE that quote and would absolutely buy that mug to support your church. Let us know when it's available.
Wow... this is such a blessing to hear! I have lots of work to do .

Any advice to help those who blame God for the wounds?
Could you talk more about false love?
Even it was click bait I rather have this channel do so than any others
Agreed
Not really clickbait
@@King_Immanuelyeah it was not, amazingly profound
You have no idea of the danger you're in, Saul.
I have lost my whole family including my son and grandson. There is no god.

Read The Orthodox Way by St. Seraphim Rose .

I, too, used to read hindu/buddhist texts,, until i realized the truth in jesus christ alone.
There is some truth in the Bhagavad Gita! The fullness of that truth is found in Jesus Christ.
