Sometimes it feels like it's just me on my own and so I really need your advice/input about the various topics I discuss in today's video. I want to find ways to include you more in my creative process(and so that I don't lose my mind doing it all on my lonesome 🥲) I will be adding timestamps but essentially this video is split into 3 parts: 1. I’ve listened to you off and on for a year and a half now, initially, I thought you were a little theatrical, then I began to see how talented your verbal skills were. But more and more I’ve begun to see you as a smart, funny kind authentically sweet person. You have opened up your humanity so much and it’s easy to see you as a person I both know and like. I really appreciated this from you. You have friends here.
I totallyyyyy feel you on filming with housemates! And I have never been the kind of person who can film in the middle of the night so it’s not an option for me either. I also try to plan for when my housemates will be out of the house, but lately I’ve just been filming whenever I want and accepting that I will probably have to edit noises out, which hasn’t been as bad or time consuming as I thought it would be :^) Edit: OKAYYY sorry I am back I should be asleep rn but I have been 👂🏻listening👂🏻 first of all one video a week is a lot!!! Even for ME and I put in absolutely minimal effort into everything so for you who has quality videos that are long with personalized, edited thumbnails, you are doing absolutely amazing work!! And on the point about making friends with creators, it’s so so hard! Especially on social media where all you see are people who seem to be incredibly close and talk all the time, but no one sees or talks about the huge invisible wall you have to climb over to actually become friends with someone online 🥲 ANYWAYYY tldr I really really relate to what you’re saying and if you ever need an ear I’m here for ya! 💖💖💖
I think I just need ASMRtists as housemates! 😆 Also 2 of my housemates are a couple so I’d be super paranoid that I’d hear their ‘bedroom’ noises if I didn’t at least tell them when I was filming 😅💀 Omg and thank you for the kind words, they are really validating 🫶🏻 but also don’t downplay your own hard work in your videos too girly! Omg yes that invisible wall 🙃 I do feel like I need to make more effort though, I think it’s also that idea of being rejected that kind of stops me but I feel like we’d totally be IRL friends if we lived in the same place! 💕
Hey hey! I know it's been a while since you posted this video, but I totally relate to your problems trying to film. I used to film late at night but it also took its toll on me. I try to film when my flatmate is out, but I struggle a lot since they very often work from home. I hope you manage to return to your channel - your content is great! ❤
i don't think it matters too much to have a "theme" for your channel, the videos that you post are all excellent and i love your chit chats. also i think it would be fine if you were to go back to some of the series you did, but only if you want to, of course! i'm sure whatever you put your mind to, the result will be great!
My favorite ASMR videos you’ve done are the study with me, the instructions for sleep, and I think you did a bookshelf tour once a long time ago that I loved. I listen to ASMR for background when I work or study, and those are always the ones I prefer. Someone else commented this, but I’ll affirm it- I would listen to you whisper review books or chat about your reading list, and just ramble about your thoughts/impressions/favorite quotes ASMR.
Oh thank you so much for this comment- that’s actually a really nice well-rounded mix of videos! I definitely want to do more book content, I don’t actually have a proper bookshelf at the moment but I need to sort one out as would love to do a 2022 bookshelf tour. I’m hoping to do a study with me next month btw! Xx
TOTALLY feel you on struggling to film with housemates. Up until a couple months ago I lived with 3 housemates and it was pretty difficult. Sometimes I would ask them to be quiet, which normally worked except yeah you’re right, they don’t realize just how quiet it needs to be. I either woke up really early to film (my roommates slept in late) or stay up til like 3am when they’re all sleeping. And I would film a couple videos at a time so I wouldn’t have to deal with the stress of finding a good time to film for a while. Also I would go home for fall/Christmas/spring break and pre film when I was there since it’s easy to ask my family to be quiet lol. Other times I’d just get lucky and no one would be home and I’d take advantage and film 😅😅
I’m in the 3 housemate situation rn 😅 it’s such a struggle hey?! I always thought it’s ironic that there’s so many of us asmrtists who are losing sleep to film videos to help other people sleep haha I’m like there’s gotta be another wayyyyy?! 🤪
You're far too hard on yourself, Shivi. My advice would be to lighten up and don't sweat the small stuff. You're doing great and I love your channel! So try to not worry and fret so much. 😊
hi shivi ! i think you should definitely follow through with the "discuss books that i've read / series or movies i've watched" type of video. easy way to interact with your audience (people either get to discover something new / can give their opinion if they know about x media, make suggestions via community tab polls...), can potentially be done in the form of a livestream (since you mentionned this kind of format) plus your verbal skills make for very enjoyable whispering 🙂book reading and life story videos are also neat, you've got lots of great ideas ! go at your own pace 🙂 hope you're doing alright, sorry for my english
Firstly, your English is amazing! The fact you can speak more than one language is something I’m always in awe of! That’s such a good idea to do those types of videos in livestream form, that would be so fun to get everyone’s input and see what content everyone is enjoying too!

I feel like your channel’s theme is your personality! It’s got a little bit of everything! I personally love the variety, I love that you do rambles but I also have loved the times you’ve done role plays. You remind me of a vlogger who just happens to whisper, which I love! Especially as a person who also watches ASMR during the day, not just to sleep!
Background noise isn't really problematic, it just adds to the realism. I believe Frivolous fox has that issue. You could sound proof the room alternatively, but say Dr T asmr leaves sounds in from the outside.
I think because it’s my own content I’m hypersensitive to it, especially in the editing process, it’s hard to know how loud is ‘too loud’ especially when I’m replaying parts over and over. But thank you, I’m probably overthinking it! Xx

i’ve only been watching your channel for a little less than a year but i have loved every video you’ve done!! i also have undiagnosed adhd and i KNOW if i were an asmrtist (which i’ve considered/tried doing so many times) i would be really similar to you with trying lots of new types of videos and not really finishing series 😂 that’s just how i am with everything so i totally don’t mind or judge when people do the same thing lol. but if you do ever have an interest in continuing those old series i say just do it! that’s kind of just how i treat my adhd is i just let myself follow my interest at the moment and let it fade if it does without judgment 🤷🏻♀️ but i totally understand the desire to have a theme or have some consistency. i loved every single idea you had so i say just pick what inspires you the most at the moment and do it! you said you don’t feel like your channel really has a theme, but i would say the theme is you! i keep coming back to your videos with full faith that i’ll love whatever you do because i love your personality and energy. so that’s your theme. you!! also, i’m not sure if you have anything like this in your area, but i just discovered that my local library that just went through a renovation now has sound proof rooms available for use to library patrons! i don’t know if there’s an extra cost, but even if there was, it wouldn’t be much since it’s the library! anyway, i love you and all your content, so i’m looking forward to anything that comes next! 💖

Dear Shivi, my friend taught me yesterday that we shouldn't be doing things we feel bad or anxious about because it means our soul is not alligned with those actions. Thoughts that bring us worry and pain are not our thoughts, we learned to think that way as a part of being in modern society. So please don't worry about not being "on schedule", the most important thing is that you fill your days with what makes YOU happy and grow. If it makes you happy to record a video when you are by yourself in the apartment during the day and that makes it once a month or whatever, then be it. You are an EXCELLENT content creator, I love hearing your opinions and decisions and you are very sweet and kind. Just what I signed up for! Best wishes and dream on xo
I like the idea of podcast, especially the sunny daisy one, I feel like we all want to hear some good news for a change. Also, I would characterize your videos as vlogger ASMR. I believe that as long as you make videos that you enjoy making and that you feel enthusiastic about yourself it will shine through to the people watching. I love the variety on your channel 😊 I love your storytimes, but also sugar mom, follow my directions, book readings and chit chatting. And oh! hii! I am an asmrtis too (very smol one , but I try my best). I live with my family (alternatively with my mum or dad and always with my younger sister) and I study at university so I def do not have that much alone time to film... I usually try and film when my family isn't at home, but of course I have to be quick and already have things planned, or sometimes (now not that often actually) I film at night when I am alone in my room and I know that they're sleeping or just quieter than they'd be during the day
No matter what content you decide to continue or bring back from the past we will all be here to support the content 💯 remember taking breaks is totally okay :)

Omg I know exactly what you mean about the ‘disorganised’ schedule or ‘lack of professionalism’ feeling you can have about yourself (I am currently on the ADHD diagnosis path myself rn!), but I try to remind myself that this mindset is just our rigid capitalist society’s way of fighting with natural creatives’ methods of working. Our society doesn’t view different patterns/routines of working as valid, but this view is hopefully slowly changing. I also suffer when my sleep pattern is disrupted, so my only suggestion would be to film during the day when you feel is the quietest, but adjust the mic settings (I think the gauge(?)) so it’s maybe less sensitive to farther away sounds? Personally the odd background noise wouldn’t affect me if it means you’re thriving. Sending good vibes ✨

Hey Quiet, I'm sure you hear this a lot, but you are awesome! Without even trying. I wish I had gotten into asmr creation when I had an idea for it five years ago, but sadly, I chose a different path. (I finally, finally got a job in my field as a software developer last month. Yay, I can afford stuff again! I would definitely rejoin your Patreon of you put it up.) I'm strategic and technical minded, so I might be able to give some ideas to solve some issues. Like, for sound issues with laptop fan, you could do a strategy to keep the laptop cooler by reducing the workload (without having to stop what you're doing), increasing the cooling (might be expensive to have quiet cooling though), or recording away from laptop (can connect to another screen like a tv and record farther away from the sound). I love hearing your thoughts, your dreams, your ideas. Never forget that you are wonderful!!
Could you set up an indicator, sign on the door or a special object out so people know you're filming. I know some other asmr artists use the closet in their room with sound boards all around then they use a green screen background instead. Not sure if that could work for you.
My housemates are pretty good I usually let them know in advance or I try and film when they’re not here, I just find it difficult as I’m trying to schedule my filming around the 3 of them as well as my own outside work schedule which changes weekly. It’s forcing me to be a lot more organised which is a good thing! My closet is quite small so I couldn’t film a full video BUT it’s just big enough that I can record voiceovers in there and I want to do more vlog style/voiceover content so I’m hoping that will work out well! Thanks for the advice xx
Thanks for keeping us posted/updated Shivs. Sounds like you have a lot of great ideas a already lined up for your channels future. I personally definitely like the idea of Nostalgia via memorabilia/discussions....that would be a totally unique idea. I def like the idea of a podcast and possible return of vlogs for some behind the scenes purposes ya know! If ya need some inspiration for a podcast ideas...I can share with ya two podcasts that are done by fellow asrmtists The first one is by fellow asmrtist Lizzie Lestrange. She just started one fairly recently and her's deals with a variety of topics that she chooses to discuss. Her podcast only has 3 episodes so far...but the topics are different with each one: On One Episode she talks about her travels and another one she talks about Life as a Content Creator and Pet Peeves on another episode. The second Podcast is little bit more silly and humorous while still sharing some fun factorids is done by a long time fav of mine Lauren Woods aka Scottish MurMurs and her bestie Lucy Harper aka Creative Calm. Their Podcast is called Nibbly Bits. I can share the likes to both of those podcasts if you wish... I'll send them to your DM on Instagram. Other than that...Thanks again for keeping us all posted and great work with all you have done recently and in the past to. I also personally want to thank you for being so great with feedback to! It’s a difficult balance for sure, bc as much as I would love the place to myself to be able to do what I want whenever I want, I also know that I would be super sad and lonely if that was the case!

I’m telling you, you don’t need to be putting all this extra work into it all. My friend in university, Jocelyn aka JocieB ASMR, would edit her videos on iPhone while in class 😅 she would record and would have some background car noises and things like that, and they wouldn’t detract from the video. The videos don’t need to be perfect for us the viewer to enjoy them! Cut yourself some slack, you don’t deserve to be feeling all this pressure.

I feel like your channel’s theme is your personality! It’s got a little bit of everything! I personally love the variety, I love that you do rambles but I also have loved the times you’ve done role plays. You remind me of a vlogger who just happens to whisper, which I love! Especially as a person who also watches ASMR during the day, not just to sleep!
Daytime ASMR is supreme, also for some reason watching it on my lunch breaks at work just hits different 🤤

Background noise isn't really problematic, it just adds to the realism. I believe Frivolous fox has that issue.
You could sound proof the room alternatively, but say Dr T asmr leaves sounds in from the outside.
I think because it’s my own content I’m hypersensitive to it, especially in the editing process, it’s hard to know how loud is ‘too loud’ especially when I’m replaying parts over and over. But thank you, I’m probably overthinking it! Xx

i’ve only been watching your channel for a little less than a year but i have loved every video you’ve done!! i also have undiagnosed adhd and i KNOW if i were an asmrtist (which i’ve considered/tried doing so many times) i would be really similar to you with trying lots of new types of videos and not really finishing series 😂 that’s just how i am with everything so i totally don’t mind or judge when people do the same thing lol. but if you do ever have an interest in continuing those old series i say just do it! that’s kind of just how i treat my adhd is i just let myself follow my interest at the moment and let it fade if it does without judgment 🤷🏻♀️
but i totally understand the desire to have a theme or have some consistency. i loved every single idea you had so i say just pick what inspires you the most at the moment and do it! you said you don’t feel like your channel really has a theme, but i would say the theme is you! i keep coming back to your videos with full faith that i’ll love whatever you do because i love your personality and energy. so that’s your theme. you!!
also, i’m not sure if you have anything like this in your area, but i just discovered that my local library that just went through a renovation now has sound proof rooms available for use to library patrons! i don’t know if there’s an extra cost, but even if there was, it wouldn’t be much since it’s the library!

Dear Shivi, my friend taught me yesterday that we shouldn't be doing things we feel bad or anxious about because it means our soul is not alligned with those actions. Thoughts that bring us worry and pain are not our thoughts, we learned to think that way as a part of being in modern society. So please don't worry about not being "on schedule", the most important thing is that you fill your days with what makes YOU happy and grow. If it makes you happy to record a video when you are by yourself in the apartment during the day and that makes it once a month or whatever, then be it. You are an EXCELLENT content creator, I love hearing your opinions and decisions and you are very sweet and kind. Just what I signed up for! Best wishes and dream on xo

hii! I am an asmrtis too (very smol one , but I try my best). I live with my family (alternatively with my mum or dad and always with my younger sister) and I study at university so I def do not have that much alone time to film... I usually try and film when my family isn't at home, but of course I have to be quick and already have things planned, or sometimes (now not that often actually) I film at night when I am alone in my room and I know that they're sleeping or just quieter than they'd be during the day
No matter what content you decide to continue or bring back from the past we will all be here to support the content 💯 remember taking breaks is totally okay :)

Omg I know exactly what you mean about the ‘disorganised’ schedule or ‘lack of professionalism’ feeling you can have about yourself (I am currently on the ADHD diagnosis path myself rn!), but I try to remind myself that this mindset is just our rigid capitalist society’s way of fighting with natural creatives’ methods of working. Our society doesn’t view different patterns/routines of working as valid, but this view is hopefully slowly changing. I also suffer when my sleep pattern is disrupted, so my only suggestion would be to film during the day when you feel is the quietest, but adjust the mic settings (I think the gauge(?)) so it’s maybe less sensitive to farther away sounds? Personally the odd background noise wouldn’t affect me if it means you’re thriving. Sending good vibes ✨

Hey Quiet, I'm sure you hear this a lot, but you are awesome! Without even trying. I wish I had gotten into asmr creation when I had an idea for it five years ago, but sadly, I chose a different path. (I finally, finally got a job in my field as a software developer last month. Yay, I can afford stuff again! I would definitely rejoin your Patreon of you put it up.) I'm strategic and technical minded, so I might be able to give some ideas to solve some issues. Like, for sound issues with laptop fan, you could do a strategy to keep the laptop cooler by reducing the workload (without having to stop what you're doing), increasing the cooling (might be expensive to have quiet cooling though), or recording away from laptop (can connect to another screen like a tv and record farther away from the sound). I love hearing your thoughts, your dreams, your ideas. Never forget that you are wonderful!!

Could you set up an indicator, sign on the door or a special object out so people know you're filming. I know some other asmr artists use the closet in their room with sound boards all around then they use a green screen background instead. Not sure if that could work for you.
My housemates are pretty good I usually let them know in advance or I try and film when they’re not here, I just find it difficult as I’m trying to schedule my filming around the 3 of them as well as my own outside work schedule which changes weekly. It’s forcing me to be a lot more organised which is a good thing! My closet is quite small so I couldn’t film a full video BUT it’s just big enough that I can record voiceovers in there and I want to do more vlog style/voiceover content so I’m hoping that will work out well! Thanks for the advice xx

If ya need some inspiration for a podcast ideas...I can share with ya two podcasts that are done by fellow asrmtists
The first one is by fellow asmrtist Lizzie Lestrange. She just started one fairly recently and her's deals with a variety of topics that she chooses to discuss. Her podcast only has 3 episodes so far...but the topics are different with each one:
On One Episode she talks about her travels and another one she talks about Life as a Content Creator and Pet Peeves on another episode.
The second Podcast is little bit more silly and humorous while still sharing some fun factorids is done by a long time fav of mine Lauren Woods aka Scottish MurMurs and her bestie Lucy Harper aka Creative Calm. Their Podcast is called Nibbly Bits. I can share the likes to both of those podcasts if you wish...

I’m telling you, you don’t need to be putting all this extra work into it all. My friend in university, Jocelyn aka JocieB ASMR, would edit her videos on iPhone while in class 😅 she would record and would have some background car noises and things like that, and they wouldn’t detract from the video.
The videos don’t need to be perfect for us the viewer to enjoy them! Cut yourself some slack, you don’t deserve to be feeling all this pressure.
