How To Tune A Drift Car in FORZA HORIZON 5 (COMPETE WITH FORMULA DRIFT CARS)

- Today I teach you guys how to tune your drift cars with the goal of anyone being able to beat the Formula Drift cars in multiplayer, along with being able to put whatever aero, wheels, and other cosmetics on the car. I go over the basics consisting of how to tune your tires, how to tune your gearing, how to tune your suspension involving alignment, rollbars, damping, and springs. I also go over the basics of how to tune your diff as well as your braking. There is NO wrong way to make drift cars in Forza with the customization they offer, but I just wanted to share what has helped me in Forza Horizon 4 and Forza Horizon 5.

You really don't even need to tune, but this setup I used has worked best for me so far and wanted to share.

On God your first 30 seconds of talking literally made me subscribe I've been driving for about 7 months now I just got off Forza 5 and the tuning is way different from car wrecks especially because Car-X is a arcade drifting game like it's fun but it's not going to be the same when I hop into Forza

Great video bro and I used your settings on several of my LS swapped cars and I only adjusted the gearing slightly everything else was pretty much perfect bro! There are infinite tuning clips out there and so far this is the most useful and most entertaining I’ve seen so KUDOS TO YOU
I’ve seen so many of these. Literally everyone does it differently. You just gotta play with stuff. Some say to put bigger tires up front, and smaller in the back, and vice versa. Some also have their tire pressure higher in the front and lower in the back, and vice versa. Some have their roll bars and springs min/maxed, and vice versa. Some have their diff max/max, some don’t. Shit is frustrating🤣 I find that getting into a car you wouldn’t normally think of as a “drift car,” and then playing with that tune based on all these instructional videos, and making that MF a badass drift car helped me a lot with “diagnosing.”

What did you do because his equation said max-min x weight % + min so that’s 267.4 -53.5 = 213.9 X weight 1311 = 280,422 then if I divide that by the minimum of 53 that’s 280,422%53.5= 5,241 which can’t be right my springs don’t go that high

yeah i was wondering the same, irl drift set ups rebound is stiffer than bump, but i didnt either get how did he calculated bump ratios. I looked hokihoshi video, I'm still not sure but I think it goes like this
in hoki video his Front rebound is 12.4
rear rebound is 10.7
He said to use 60% of rebound so ig when using the formula its not (20-1)... its 12.4 for max and 1 for min.. so its now (12.4-1) x 60% -1 = setting
it gets pretty close to his setting so, its still not right but close, and yeah hopefully it kinda helps

Would you say FH5 is better than NFS Heat, Richard? I'm thinking of getting FH5 for Christmas this year.
All the Horizon games are better than Heat. The Horizon games are a lot more "realistic" than NFS is so you don't just E brake for corners. You have to brake a normal distance and drive a normal racing line through them to go fast in Horizon. I honestly prefer that over the more arcade feel that NFS gives off. I haven't played Horizon 5 yet but I'm definitely getting the game when I can knowing how much fun I had on Horizon 2 3 and 4. I played Heat as well and it didn't take very long for me to get bored of it.
I know you weren't really asking me but I thought I'd answer anyways. :)
Depends on what you're looking for.
For one, Heat is more like an action adventure game that happens to involve cars instead of a racing game whith all the "take out the corrupt police force" story. Personally, I find that pretty cool but it depends on your tastes. Plus, it is street racing themed. NFS Heat also has more visual customization options but it has less cars (120 or something) and kinda shitty driving physics (basically the physics don't really exist. Instead, the movement is simulated to look like real life. To make it more clear, in Heat, you press the acceleration button to make the object/car move while in most other car games, you hit the acceleration to make the wheels move, and thus the car moves).
Horizon games are, indeed, racing games. There's not a story, only context. The customization isn't as good but it makes up in variety of vehicles by having off-road buggies, hyper cars, old, new.. whatever you can imagine. Also, the cars are a lot. I think right now in 5 there are around 500 cars but, in FH4, after all of the updates, there are 700+ or something. The driving has the usual settings and assists you'll find in any simulation racing game which allow you to experience the game however you want.
Now, the open world in Heat features more urban enviroments while in Horizon, it's more nature than city.
Also, if you are into online racing with others, you really should go with forza.
If you expect Forza to feel like NFS the you're gonna have a bad time.
Horizon 5 is leaps and bounds better than heat. The physics and AI work unlike heat. And the amount of modes and creator tools in the game makes it literally one of the best racing games I’ve played. I’ve not put as many hours into a game on launch week since NFS2015 lol

Im confused, if to find the rear number is (1- the front value) wouldn't it be the 1-53% ? How did you come up with 47% in the back?
53%=0.53 or 1=100% hence 1-0.53=0.47 or 100%-53%=47%

If the weight% is 50 does that mean the fronts and the rears are the same? That doesn’t seem right
the formula is based upon the weight of the car. if there's a 50/50 weight distribution, that would mean spring/damping rates would be the same, yes

Depends on alot of different things but in general I'd leave it alone or do cornering in the front(front wheels need to be guiding your drift more than slipping) speed in rear (cuz you want that sliding) realistically though you won't be drifting at a speed for that make a real difference and is more so for looks.
