I usually send my air bag modules and seat belts to Safety Restore. They have good deals on eBay and I've used them about 6 times. Each time everything is as good as new.
The module can be used back you can repair it oh you have to buy new give me a break me and other guy worked on Mercedes sprinter and we found module under driver seat and it was wet we blow out water repair the board and it work when they say you have to buy a new module and reprogram it it’s lies keep up the great work I’m new to can bus aswell and would love to learn more
I love watching this channel. You give me motivation to get out there and make a difference in keeping people's cars on the road. Dealerships are designed to make money. They even have quota requirements in the service dept to sell more service that the customer doesn't need. They will throw all sorts of parts at your car or truck and tell you that the factory requires new parts thrown at it. They will lie to you and tell you the "software" is no longer available and you have to trade your vehicle in. They cherry pick the nicer steals and mark them up so high and sell them on their used lot and send the rest to auction. Tech savvy individuals can save a buck buying something that needs work and then put their knowledge into action to fix and flip these cars.
#FACTS!
its called a business,,and also laibility,,,dealers will not throw in used parts because of the liablility,,put yourself in their shoes,,with all they overhead they have to pay,,insurance, employees,,etc etc,,,you will understand,,,
Thank you for that senior 🙏🙏🙏
Got to love this guy. Throws up the middle finger at the big three and refuses to eat the bullsh/t sandwich. Knowing is half the battle. GO JOE!!!
Thanks for making this video and the one for Ford. I got my scan tool from you. I am stuck with a 2012 buick lacrosse module that will not reset by obdstar p50. It says the condition is not met on both obd2 and bench. I am not sure if GM is trying to force pepple to buy a new module. It has B0052:00-13 deployment commanded, which people say can not be erased. I am not sure if that is true.
What the part number of that gm module? Also what does the tool say for that module (OBD/BENCH)?
GM 13583432. The tool says both OBD2 and Bench.
I have many airbag module reset tools including this obdstar none of them was able to remove the crash for GM cars.
@sarmadaldulaimi7963 Oh, ok. So GM hard codes can not be removed.
@@user-ud3se1dk3v The only way to remove hard code is by desolder the eeprom
For the black plastic modules you need vvdi prog to read and write the MCU but it's painful to cut it open though.
MB, BMW, VAG, GM and some FCA cars allows to reuse SRS module after accident, it counts collisions in data (front, back, side, rollover etc) but if it over 3 collisions, you will have a hard code crash data and need to be repaired or replaced.
100% proof that SRS module sending a PWM signal does NOT damage the module! I've never seen a device designed to send a PWM signal that gets damaged by doing what its supposed to do! That's simply ludicrous!
@@globalcommerce7654 but some srs modules can be hardware damaged after accident. Mitsubishi, Mazda bosch made srs modules for example, need to replace a driver that controls all airbag igniters. When driver damaged it will cause "internal error" dtc.
@@equilibrusman those are modules that operate differently, the types I'm discussing in the video are modules that deloy via high voltage PWM signal, equally as stated the module will also indicate a fault DTC if it has a hardware failure. 👍🏾
You can use Autel and possibly OBDStar tools to access the EEPROM and download crash data and erase it out of the BIN dump. Then flash it back like nothing happened. The only damage I can see is flashing the EEPROM too many times will kill it. They have so many flashes before it damages the chip.
@@ATSNorthernMI the OBDSTAR P50 handles all of this automatically. It's highly unlikely you can you can reach eeprom max write cycles as most chips have over 100,000 write cycles vs flash memory for example thats closer to 10,000.
Been trying to get in touch with you to finish getting the files that I purchased last week. Unzipped I have sent several emails. With my TeamViewer info. Guessing my emails don't make it through....
Hi, I'm just getting back I'll try ro get with you shortly

@@globalcommerce7654 Thank you wasn't. Trying to be rude about it. Appreciate the help.
For us automotive repair professionals if OEM states to replace module due to deployment, it shouldnt be reused for liability reasons. We arent trying to scam our customers, we are protecting our ass.
I would agree with you on that in business terms it's the correct option litigation wise. You are 100% correct. That doesn't change the fact that on certain cars you cannot source new, it also doesn't change the fact that the way its marketed it's still a SCAM.
Well I bought ford software from your company and tried to use says I need licence so educate me or I'm not buying was gonna get obd star, but wld love some customer support, or you might just be a scam
Hi, if it says you need a license that means you didn't follow the instructions included with your purchase watch this video.
ua-cam.com/video/sMAKNzdyfL8/v-deo.htmlsi=8h0vpL7uTtILl4Tp
100% of the people who have said this, 100% of the time never used the instructions. 100% of the problems was resolved in less than 5 minutes.
Not following instructions will scam your time.
I'm out to dinner email globalcommerceca@gmail.com and once if get back I can TeamViewer into your pc and show you what part of the instructions you are not following.
@globalcommerce7654 there weren't any vnci box to follow
@@charlesmecum5009 I'm getting to the PC, be sure to include your order number in the email because I'm not even understanding what you purchased at this point.
@globalcommerce7654 the ford ids vcni
Say it louder brother. Corporate greed!
... The ABS module also acts as a telltale.. it will store a great deal of information about the driver and the vehicle... When it comes to . Occupant restraint controllers... It's just better to err on the side of caution... Just buy a new one. Because you're not going to know if it does not work until you get into a crash.... Add that might be the last crash you get into...
Hi buying new is an option. Everyone can make their choice, If you watch the entire video it is explained why buying new is NOT necessary.
Buy a new one? Most manufacturers don’t even make replacement modules for older models. They do that on purpose. It is planned obsolescence
