- My most recent purchase for my N scale roster, Bachmann's newest release in n scale and steam, the New York Central J3a. It was a matter of time before they would be made to replace the ConCor/Rivarossi models and what an improvement as far as their SoundValue line, featuring the Soundtraxx Econami decoder.
With the Hudson I also purchased KATO's postwar version of the 20th Century Limited. - Розваги
Bachmann has come through again with an affordable beautiful model of the Hudson. Can't wait to get one. Bachmann is getting better and better!
awesome layout thanks 4 sharing
I have an n scale layout myself so I have to give you some props on the camera shots nice work.
Nice J3a. I have the ConCor version that I was going to convert to DCC but I may save myself the trouble and money to get this Bachmann. I have thier Berkshire and am happy with it. So this is an ez choice. BTW awesom N layout.
Great layout and video by the way !
I actually have one of those now as an HO. Believe it or not, I got it from Matt!
Nice. The fact you also have 1.44 subscribers is also cool considering the number in your username.
Your layout is so super cool and huge for n scale and a nyc hudson were in the heck did you get one of those,,,i never seen one in n scale,,,,,,thanks for a truly awesome video,,,,,KEN
I bought my Hudson from a local hobby store, but you can find them on other store websites. If you want a huge discount off the MSRP, I suggest modeltrainstuff.com.
Here's a link to one of the Hudsons:

It appears you changed the chuff rate on yours? I had to change mine to four chuffs per revolution. It started at about TWO.....
Good looking run. I have one but still use the old Riverossi and Concor cars. I had to groove th back set of drivers for traction tires to work up my 1.34% grades.
Please show how you groove the back set of driver's w/a lathe or whatever. In my humble opinion, the lack of traction tires on the geared driver is a major flaw, on an otherwise, fine looking model. Perhaps, they should have geared the other two drivers as well; instead of being rod driven. Give me your thoughts, please.
does the sound work with regular DC ? I'd probably need DCC for the bell and whistle I assume. Thanks ! - Nick
You'd need some sort of sidekick controller (something BLI used to make way back when) to activate the whistle and bell, however you can't change the selectable whistle and bell types without DCC.
@@BalticFilms144 Yes, I used to have one of those, thanks !
@@nicksorensen8133 I have one, if you don't...pm me if you want it...I have two different devices to access the sounds. One is the Sidekick and one is something else that only accesses the bell and whistle
Runs and sounds good for a Bachmann. Bob
Bachmann's new releases have been of this quality for 15 or so years lol
I have a few new ones and they run good, but.....I remember back the day they were junk....Be good.
Who makes those cars, and where'd you get them...and price?😱
Kato. I got them for about $250 from my local hobby shop Hiawatha Hobbies.
@@BalticFilms144 thanks, nice cars! I just ordered the N scale Hudson, and need some coaches, but my layout is too small for nine coaches! Maybe I'll try the four-car add-on set I just found on Amazon...would like to get an observation car by itself to add to it...anybody know where I might find just the observation car?
Will this operate on code 55 track?
That layout is dope! What club is this?
Milwaukee N' Southeastern Railroad Club
@@BalticFilms144 nice is it open to the public?
@@patrickbrown9321 Currently not. It's members only due to covid and stuff
What did you change the CV settings to for that specific bell and that specific whistle?
I can see now I need a bigger layout. Mine is on a hollow door...
Would you ever run the e7's behind that train?
Probably not. I find diesels on my roster to be more trouble than they're worth.
