This is such a great series, you are a really good teacher and I especially like how you take your time and explain each step of the way. Even though I’ve been doing this for a few years I still enjoy watching tutorials because I’m always looking for ways to improve my work.

It's frustrating how much simple you can do it. If I try it, it's end with sliced fingers, dull blades, and a 25 full skins ruined beyond any limit...
Very interesting video indeed, keep them going. 👍

hi Joe great video just one question when you go round a leaf or flower does each small cut meet or are you still doing a cut and then fading out as you did with the vines

Nicely done, appreciate the slow precise pace. Also the closeups help. Only one comment, the audio has quite a lot of echo. But great job.

I’m surprised there are so many swivel knife videos but rarely does anyone mention that you shouldn’t connect or cross lines. Slightly frustrating to spend time watching all of these and a huge nugget of info is left out of most. Interesting and frustrating

Could I use an exacto knife if I don’t have a swivel knife?

Is there a general length when you start to fade the cut out? IE: quarter inch before your cut ends. I’m still struggling with which way I choose to start a cut and end it with the fade out sometimes!! Sometimes I start with a fade at the beginning of a cut, is this not proper?
    Thank you,
    -Mister C

I’m sorry but I can’t see anything it would be good up close where I could actually see the blade cutting and see exactly what he is doing

What work's for him DON'T always work for everybody.

      Hi Scott,
Everybody has their own preferences and we are in no way trying to say this is the only way to carve leather. We just wanted to create a series for beginners to get started and show some techniques when carving and tooling leather. Thank you for watching

It would have been more helpful if this had been filmed from the side so we could see what the blade was doing, not the top of your finger. Your explanations were good, but nothing to see here.
