Man I'd hate to be driving a new unit and worry about overheating constantly on a casual ride.
Glad to see real people testing these,,, seems to me that robby is hunting down anyone who posts legit videos of the speed utv on youtube.
With the car running turn wheels left and right from full lock to full lock a few times while parked it will get the air bubbles out of hydraulic rams in the system and it will not be jerky. It has worked on a few cars already.
We have done that multiple times and even at different angles and still no change. Thanks for the suggestion.

It’s because of the windshield I had to take mine off too, because it was getting too hot with it on
Thanks for the honest review guys!! its a bit disappointing of the overheating on flat roads, hopefully its the windshield is causing the issue. It would be nice to see how the temps are without it.
Lol good video. Not surprised with the heating issue with a windshield on. It wasn't designed for a windshield it was added later due to customer requests. People wanted a "race car" so the initial build was trophy truck style and than everyone one wanted the full package more pre runner style with windshield and heaters and cooling all the comfort. I think they just wanted to deliver the full package but already had a full cage design with radiator in back and didn't want to start over so they got in over their heads trying to give everything. Now they're trying to compromise power to keep the engine cooler so everyone can have a windshield and at the same time losing more through the torque safeties. Not sure what's up with the hydro steering. Initially i thought it was supposed to be hydro boost steering but i guess that changed at some point. I have heard rumors of electric hydro steering being in the works but who knows. The motors potential is supposedly around 400hp with tuning and the right fuel but with all the safeguards and limiters i don't know if we'll see it unless someone like Evo gets their hands on one. I have one on order but I'm on the fence currently.
It will definitely be interesting to see how it is after the break in period! We will most likely be doing something different with the windshield too.
Negative pressure in the rear, and its recirculating the hot air out of the fans. Take the windshield out for now. Best bet is to get a plexiglass shield in the back to block off the ability of that happening. Need to also figure out how to get more air to the radiators.
The roof was designed to be positive pressure. Guess it doesnt work.

I saw no dust swirling in the cab, must be positive pressure in cab.
Robby has consistently said that the windshield should be limited to temps below about 80, as I recall.

The biggest problem ive had with my pro r and it drives me nuts is nothing has gone wrong with it lmao 1500 miles and nothing and i beat the fudge out of it every weekend at sand hollow. I like working on things when they break but i havent had to touch my car once. The pro r pulls cooling from the hood and sides so you can run a windshield alday and dont have to wait for it too get up to temp. Why do speed guys always make excuses for something going wrong!? It had problems because its a "race car" lol no its a production car stop making excuses. Btw race cars dont sound like leaf blowers.
Robbie does pitch these as more of a turnkey race car so hopefully without the windshield it wont overheat as that would not be good in any race. It actually does sound pretty bad, we can for sure agree on that. We also have never had problems with any of our RZR's and we have had them all, so this has been an interesting car.
I get what he means by turn key race car I see what he's talking about but I'm just not fully buying it. Yeah I don't get why it sounds like that polaris turbo Rs don't sound anything like that and I'm pretty sure they are the same type of motor speaking of the turbo r that thing is fast as hell and the speed lacks in that punchyness. If you dont own a pro r or turbo r I'd buy one your missing out big time.

OMG, it honestly looks like you are going half throttle? It overheated, what a joke! To think you waited 2.5 year to get that from Robby. Buy the new Canam, you can pin it non stop and no belts no over heating all day long. Greatly appreciate a honest video, unlike the 5025 from Robby. Keep them coming
I was watching the front tire in your video and it looked like the there is something going on on your front tires. Kicking left and right. And the wheel was staying straight.
I definitely noticed that wheel did not look right on drivers front myself while driving trails. 👍
I’m a habitual modder when it comes to my machines. Not getting enough air to the radiator would be causing this problem. Obviously, It’s probably going to need a radiator/fan upgrade to fix this issue. Until then, I would run no windshield or half windshield as it’s not good to overheat over and over. Will cause head sealing issues. Great review, subbed. Also, I know you guys are reviewing as received. Looking forward to se what you guys do with it long run.
You gotta have electronic power steering to avoid feedback in the wheel like that. I’d recommend changing it if it doesn’t fit your style.
Shouldn't have those problems out of the box I'd be an upset customer. Thanks for the review glad i went with the Tubrbo R put 500 miles out of the box no issues car is a beast!!
What pressure did you run the tires at? Just wondering.
I really wanted to buy one and almost put a deposit down at the sand show.. Guess I'll try the ProR or the Can am R
most likely will have fewer problems and a way better network for repairs. Hopefully they get all the bugs worked out for the next batches that are delivered. The El Jefe has a ton of potential though.

I'm curious as to the ambient air temperature. How hot was it that day? Also interested in the window/door wings...
It was only about 80 during that ride. The "Air Blades" as we are calling them will be available on our website soon! They adjust so that you can help direct the air into or out of the cabin.
That steering wheel is hard to watch.
The suspension looks amazing
Mine came with the windshield, but I’ve never run with it on, and do not have an overheating problem.
We will be pulling it off and doing maybe a half windshield instead to see how that does.
It's been said that temps over 75-80F the windshield should come off. Maybe a good upgrade would be for some better replacement fans? Spitballing here.

Your passenger having issues with getting in and out of a five-piont harness straight from the factory from the SPEED UTV is already concerning...lol....his opinion on the SPEED UTV performance, or any other manufactures, should be ignored!!! LOL
...agree...I am more concerned about the steering chitter....IMO.

What offset are the wheels you put on? I have to think the offset is causing what you are feeling in the wheel.
I have offset wheels on my pro r and it rides the same it shouldn't matter on these new sxs. I'm not saying that's not the problem I'm just saying other machines it doesn't matter. Like a pro r and mav r.
The steering was acting up from the very get go...stock wheels before we added the aftermarket wheels. We have added wheels with different than stock offset on every machine we have owned and never had issues with the steering.
The off set on the wheels is definitely adding to the feedback you’re getting. I know others have said that they are getting feedback and the offset made it worse. Just sayin

Yes there is a ton of feedback in the steering. I have heard from a couple people that theirs did the same and after 250 miles it just disappeared...so I guess we will see how it goes
That will be going back to the shop ASAP- you can’t run a windshield without it overheating lol 😂 and what the hell is that engine noise ? they weren’t even going fast - steering is yet another problem- that’s a piece of 💩💩 maybe that’s why Robbie blocks Speed reviews on most of all the channels 🤔

Re the overheating issue with a windshield. This is the blurb from Speed website for the front window. No mention of not for use over 80F temps.

@@Rokblokz In AZ not being able to use it if temp is over 80F is a non starter for me. What I find odd is there no statement about the 80F on their website. I got the info from someone who ordered a Speed but cancelled due to that.

There's just enough positives thrown in that it might keep King Gordon from suing you.

This car can’t run a windshield unless cold outside and Speed has said that many times. Your overheating is no mystery. Now the steering is a big issue and Speed has to get that figured out. It’s not just your car. It’s a Speed design problem.
That sucks you can't run a windshield on the car 24 7 like all the rest of the sxs what a bummer
My 2015 XP1000 over heated with a winshield on. But it was 90 ambient

The side wings can’t help with the overheating.
Yea with the rads in the back, anything above 70 and it will overheat, its a racecar. I was going to relo my xx fans, then ironically talked to someone that did, they said the same thing. Because where i live, i didnt relo my fans. This is a known issue for any car, doesnt matter who makes it. I would rather not eat dust than deal with the heat.
Sounds like there are some solid design decisions but the devil is in the details. You say race car but it’s not and any race car that isn’t reliable isn’t a good race car. I hope they get it figured out for the customers
It looks too good to have those issues. Maybe they should call China and get themselves one of those 1500cc Cherry motors and put in there...
they do look really good 😎 Hopefully we get some help with some of the issues since Speed has already made some updates since even we picked our machine up in September.

What's up with the trans, Sounds horrible on decel? Doesn't sound like it will live long that way, oil is probably full of metal.
Way to hot for windshield why was it on
because we had just picked the machine up and wanted to test drive it...also when an accessory is designed for a machine you should be able to run that machine with said accessory anytime! not just when it is cold outside.
From the video reviews, it seems the Speed is only good for going 80mph down a smooth, flat dirt road or sand. In the real world, SXS are used in a variety of terrains from mud, steep climbs, off camber, rock climbing and the like. Haven't seen hardly any of that. What gives?
This was not a smooth flat road. The whoops were much larger than they look in the video. We have had limited time to get it out, but will be doing some rock crawling and more with it soon!
THE CAR IS JUNK!
Expect a cease and desist and remove your video demand from RG in 3..2..1... and/or he contacts you to tells you that you need to learn how to drive "off road", and hold the steering wheel like a man and the steering will be the best in the industry, try lift some weights, and stop riding the breaks, that normally keeps the speed cars from overheating...... or maybe even go so far to tell you and your passengers to loose some weight....... and it will fix all your faults with his car.

Gotta say....time HAS proven that this car is nothing special, unlike what all the fan boys touted over the past few years that were drinking the RG kool-aid!
Rear radiator is not without issues, hydraulic steering leaks and related issues (Speed now offering an EPS add-on, at your cost), belt issues, excessive maintenance (Chubacabra video), etc.
The constant excuse is that this is a "race car" is so old.....it is a production car, just like the rest that are in this class of cars.
I know this is several months later...hope the bugs are worked out!
