Wow, a super simple way to cut down on those wee blood suckers hanging out in my garden. They love to feast on me each morning when I am working in the garden. Cardboard box ✔️, black bucket✔️, linseed oil ✔️. Headings out to set my trap right now! Thanks for the tip!
Don't forget the water haha
Jag YOU are the BEST!! Great information as usual!!
That is great! Also maybe if you have a wire mesh to cover the oily water bucket so the birds won't play in it
Great idea.
Thank you!! I hope you have more subscribers because the information you share is vital for all humanity. God bless you sir!!!
Gonna set this up nearby my horse barn
! Thank you 🙏🏽😊
I agree with you. I live in North Carolina, I also have dogs and cats. As we all know, mosquito bites also pass heartworm onto dogs. So as much as we may not like killing them, we have no choice. I also don't have mercy on fire ants. They are very vicious creatures. I'm striving to be vegan and believe in live and let live, but sometimes its not possible.
We have ginormous flocks of mosquitoes every time we have warm weather. This will literally save my sanity. 😀Thank you so much, Jag! I love your videos. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Get a box fan and put a screen on it and just run it. Best trap out there
Jag, you are the Mosquito Killer King! :) Thank you for this and you gave me my first laughs of the morning - you always give great tips! Bless you.
Jag is adorable. What a great neighbor he makes--neighbor on planet Earth.
Thank you for showing us this easy way.
Great idea.thanks for sharing.!Just subscribed.
Containers with a little water and a funnel entrance traps them. The females go in and can’t find the exit. You can also use bacillus’ and it will kill the larva but won’t harm anything else.
Good discovery and thanks for sharing that tricks to keep mosquito at bay!
Keep some guppies or mosquito_fish in your fish pond also do the tricks too!
Pretty genius. Thanks for sharing
Great idea and enjoy your humor!
Thanks for information any other common oils you can use. I saw another viewer say dawn. I have that.
Growing up in the country, we always added just a tiny bit of baby oil in outdoor water. I was told it would keep the mosquitoes from breeding in the water. Never found any sick or dying animals around the water.
Awesome, I heard oil also does not let mosquito larva mature into mosquito
My understanding is when you put the oil in the water, it makes the surface slick and they drown because they can't fly away. ☺
Baby oil seems unwise. The fragrance might repel them. Use natural oil.
What kind? @@djbryson
Like Bob Ross would say, this was a happy little accident. Great video Jag, I love your content. I too don’t judge what people choose to eat or don’t. I think we can all agree something has to die in order for us to eat. Great stuff and sense of humor sir!!👍🏻
True, the hardest part of growing food when I bought the farm has been killing animals for me. You won't believe the amount of insects, rats, mouse, gophers etc you have to get rid of to grow food. Otherwise there is no food left for you.
I’ll definitely be doing this. Thanks!
Just started seeing your videos. keep it up!
Great info, thanks.
No chemicals, great share ! Thanks
Except for the linseed oil.
We don't have mosquitoes in Houston anymore. They say it is because the heat, but we had much worse droughts and still had mosquitoes. Even when we get a shower, still no mosquitoes. We are known for our horrible mosquito problem.
Some people say it is a blessing. I say it may be the canary in the mine.
Or someone realised GMO Mosquito
They all moved to Southern California. Ugh...
@@DerSchneb I'm sorry to say that they are back this year.
I don't know how you say Houston dont have them anymore 9 months ago. I live there 9 months ago, and they were biting. Much more now since we had alot of rain this year.
@@ahnguyen1 I live in the Hobby area. Not one mosquito all summer. I'm not the only one that noticed it. The city said it was because of dry weather. I call BS because we have always had mosquitoes, even in record droughts.
Brother...you rule. Awesome video and phenomenal information.
Great ! thanks, one question, how does it affect other insects ? like bees ?
Here in South Florida, mosquitoes central. I’ll definitely have to try this. I hope the oil is not toxic to garden plants and vegetable gardens because I need to do this in my water receptacle, rain catching barrel that I use the water my garden.
you need to use vegetable oils
Veg oil works as an insect repellent on plants
💡You are one brilliant man, Jag! Thank you so very much for this tip. I will use it!💡 🚫🦟
Thanks! Will do this right away!
Incredible! Thank you for sharing, I hope your fish survived.
Thanks for the video!
This is a good idea, used by the Bombay (Mumbai) municipal corporation, many years ago!
🦟 mosquitoes LOVE me.🤬
this trap is so simple, that a *simpleton like me can make it!* 🤤 thank-u so much! 😘💨
Columbus also found America by accident, but he didn't really know where he was. Daisy knew his discovery on the spot!
Hi jag, how long do you keep the water with oil?
Nice find! Is there an oil that attracts the mosquitos? That would be the ultimate trap!
Nice! 👍
How about vegetable or coconut oil? Is it ok?
Thank you
Wow, that's crazy.I have a old dog kennel I can put a black bucket in side and the birds and animals can't get in side,Thanks.
So, the question is, which rig is better? The yeast rig or the linseed oil rig? Also, using dish soap with fragrance might have a repellant effect. So, the yeast rig might be better with linseed oil or any neutral oil.
Brilliant
Bhaji ur other part u added linseed oil what about ur other video with sugar , yeast and soap which one works better Acc to u
I will try it with coconut oil. Thank you for sharing 🙏
How did that turn out?
@@thequeenscorner6794 It wasn't a miracle cure but it didn't hurt either. It is a simple, unobtrusive method that you can set and forget without a problem. Try it.
Review?
Hi Jag that’s very good in my house we are also vegetarian but if we have to get rid of mosquitoes cockroaches we have to get rid off them to you and your family enjoy your weekend bye.
Thanks Sandra, glad you like the video!
This needs to be on Mousetrap Mondays.
Great video. Does olive or sunflower oil work too? Pretty hard to get the oils you listed in a regular store in Argentina
They don't have the menthol smell so it should work. Used motor oil is free if you change your oil at home.
U rock. Thanks 🌺🇨🇦
Will it work on Bill Gates GMO mosquitoes?
They bites even if you are in the Sun.
I have a intex pool would i do it in that? Can it be another oil? Its 3300 gallons so how much oil? I mainly use this pool as a back up water supply.
An open pool, hm, you can use oil, only issue would be birds trying to drink water or taking a bath, their wings would get covered in oil. If it is covered, you can use oil, I would guess about 4 table spoons or 60 ml will cover the surface with thin film if the area is 10x10ft. It depends on surface area, not the volume of water.
how about mineral oil.
Can I use any oil for this?
That's awesome, only draw back would be if it's harmful to other pets and animals.
All of these oils are edible, you can use olive oil too, which is ok for animals, only concern would be birds and beneficial insects, that's why i recommended using a cardboard box
you just need a small opening
Hello sir.
Which method will be killing more mosquito this one or eletric shock trapper.?
This one is the best: ua-cam.com/video/CuWOxE1-ag8/v-deo.html
Howdy, can you tell me what zone in????thanks
Search USDA Hardiness zone
SCIENCES!!
:)
Can you place the bucket trap indoors, or will it attract more mosquitoes from outside?
You need some pet bats 🦇
Hey Jag, can I use cooking oil ?
Yes you can
Is it okay,If i used BOILED or THICKENED types of linseed oil???raw linseed oil is a little bit pricey. 🥺
Do not use boiled linseed oil, it contains heavy metals and harmful chemicals. you can just use cooking vegetable oil or olive oil
@@DaisyCreekFarms okay thank you sir, what is the other oil that i can use to replace linseed oil but having the same effect sir??
I have been doing this for almost fifty years. Where have you been?
what kind of oil did you use?
Can you use any oil
Veggie or coconut
My fly strip catches more mosquitoes than flies!
With all of the traps you build my expectations would be no more mosquito in your area. How is it you still trap some :D
Wow! What a great happy accident! 😂
Dengue gone!
