Upper Trap Pain? The SECRET Cause When You Can't Drop Your Shoulders

  • Do you have UPPER TRAP PAIN or TIGHTNESS that hasn't gone away in over 6 months?
    Can't drop your shoulders?
    You've already tried normal chiropractors, physical therapist, medical doctors, or a massage and none of this has given you more than 48 hours of relief.
    Often, healthcare providers will work the upper trap or levator scapula muscle instead of addressing the SECRET problem that is causing the upper trap pain and tightness.
    The PROBLEM is adhesion (kinda like glue between your muscles) between your spinal accessory nerve and the upper trap, levator scapula, and rhomboids.
    Best thing about having this problem?
    A Certified Manual Adhesion Release (TM) provider like Dr. Joe, New Jersey's Only Non-Surgical Neck and Upper Back Specialist at Barefoot Rehab in Denville, NJ, can find and fix this problem, offering PERMANENT relief in 1-5 visits for this problem, no matter how long you've had it.
    In order to do this effectively, a clinical assistant is needed to completely relax the patient's muscles while treatment is applied to the adhesion.

    Well this makes sense! I’ve got hellish knots in my left trap, and on the lateral-whatever and that one running down from the c3. I can move them around and they pop(so gross). I’ve been getting my trap and lat worked on but no relief at all. But seeing the c3 one is involved makes sense...I injured my c3 years ago and it pops out from time to time. That’s gotta be the key here. I’m going to look for an adhesion specialist here in wny and hopefully get this pain resolved. Ty so much for the great info!

    Well I definitely have a hard time dropping my shoulders (my sister have pointed it out to me for years, that I need to put my shoulders down) But i cannot do it, I have to force my shoulders down, and even then my shoulders don't go down very far, it is very painful and incredibly tight. So this video is a great help for me thank you. Now I can finally get to the bottom of this issue. And with some treatments, get painfree with dropped shoulders. Looking forward to it. One last thing to note, because of all that build up tention I get headaches quite a lot aswell. Anyways, thank you again for this.

    Hi! I hope this message reaches you. 3 weeks ago I woke up with a pain in my neck (where my left trapezius meets my skull) I thought I slept with bad posture and that the pain would fade within a few hours after waking up, but I had to carry the pain for another week. During that week I occasionally felt my left trapezius shaking. After that week my neck pain faded away but now I am unable to flex my left trapezius. And when I reach my left arm there's a huge bulge on the back of my trapezius that starts popping out whenever I lift my arm above my shoulders. It has limited my mobility a lot and I am unable to properly train.
    Hope you read this!

    These videos have always patients who clearly have no pain or tightness. I see it so often. Clearly no tight traps here. And I'm pretty sure you can't "feel" the nerve. What he's doing is basically pin and stretch trigger point therapy. No critic. Just an observation.

    • @barefootrehab
      @barefootrehab  3 роки тому +2

      Do you have a participant in the game? When we do exams, we roll over the nerves and ask patients, "Can you feel this string?" 75% of time, they can feel the piece of linguini - it's literally that size so with expert feel, it can be felt. As always, appreciate the comments cuz it helps us educate better.

    • @giftsarefree
      @giftsarefree 3 роки тому +3

      @@barefootrehab As of my knowledge, that "piece of string" is a taut band which contains a or multiple trigger points. If it's a deep achy pain locally or radiating into another place, then it's most likely a trigger point. Pressing on or compressing a nerve isn't a very good idea as it may cause numbness, tingling or even an electric-like shooting pain. If you feel a string which might feel like a noodle or a guitar string, well then you're on a taut band and not a nerve. Again, no offence. Just sharing what I know.

    Why do you have the client sitting up using the tissues you are trying to resolve? Manual therapy which is not new... is done with the muscle in repose. You need to have the muscle in relaxed position to release that nerve...

    • @barefootrehab
      @barefootrehab  4 роки тому

      Fair question. The tissue is relaxed as long as the clinical assistant moves the patient's head. If the muscle is "in repose", the doctor wouldn't be able to put tension on the nerve to break the adhesion around the nerve.

    What clinical reasoning do you use to justify a neural mobilization here? It's a great treatment when that's the problem, but it seems like you are just assuming that a neural adhesion is the source of the pain without doing any true clinical testing. How do you know the upper trap tightness isn't due to a disk issue, lower trap weakness, poor scapular motor control, postural issue, or just plain-old stress? Would love to understand your reasoning, especially because I've learned a lot watching your video tutorials on neural mobs and have been using them in clinic. Thanks!

    This is a complete lie. 1st he’s using choppy English which means he marginally knows what he’s talking about. When the words don’t make sense, walk away. 2nd there’s NO SUCH THING as an adhesion between anything unless you have had surgery or serious tissue trauma. 3rd a persons shoulder sits high because the muscle has shortened due to disuse, which will cause a cascade of issues, shoulder dis function, Levator scap pain at the insertion… This man just did what any trained licensed or registered massage therapist would do without the need for an assistant. Wtf? An assistant? This is the most common repetitive stress injury due to ADLs Activities of Daily Living. And everybody knows you NEVER EVER press on a nerve because you risk unnecessary pain to the client and you can create lasting damage and worsen the situation. This video is Bad!
