I thank you for this video. I put it in RD after I received 22E error code. I ordered the heater kit from you. This unit was made in 2015 and I bought it that year. It's a POS. I will do my best to repair it. I will eventually need an ice maker too. Thanks again.
Bought your kit but needed 3 tubes for the back of the unit, and loved the video, had no trouble at all getting it done and making the heater wires the correct lenght so there was not any extra wiring to wire tie. My only problem was on the 3M foil with glue backs the two small strips back came off perfectly but eh big bottom pieces the glue had dried out so it pulled off all the glue completlely but i had some spray contact glue to use in its place and all is good so far. Forced Defrost before i put it all back together and both original and new heaters worked great.
Thank you for being generous and knowledgeable ! I did do a Forced Defrost mode . Worked great! Afterwards I put in Forced Freeze but the beeping would not stop even after moving through all procedures. I finally unplugged and plugged it back in! It stopped the beeping and went back into regular mode. I love this refrigerator even with the condenser not working well and forcing me to go into Forced Defrost! Thanks Again! Will continue to follow you 👍
Thank you! I was able to clear the error codes by watching this video. I had called Samsung help line and he had me press 2 different buttons which did not work. This saved me calling a repairman.
This is a great video without breaking up the fridge into piece like many other video. I just found 22E that is Refrigerator Fan Error. Still need to know what is next.
My fridge somehow went into FF mode and started defrosting. I searched how to reset it from intermet but non help. I was at the point to call a service repair but there is a 1 month wait and giving me an estimate of $350 without talking to anyone in person. Cancelled that request and tried searching answers from the internet again. Luckily I found your youtube video, although my samsung fridge has a different display from your video, I tried holding up the 2 left buttons following your video (cool select and power freezer on mine) and it took me out of FF mode or demo mode. I can hear the motor running again. Thank you for saving me the frustration and stress having a full fridge out of service.

Also learned from your video how to keep that compartment from freezing up too much by setting the defrost code, instead of unplugging and using the hair dryer. The icemakers on these are garbage. But to be honest, most in-refrigerator ice makers are. Ben, I have a Samsung RF 263AEBP which I got for $700 new at a scratch and dent sale and it was barely scratched or dented. Second I have a home warranty. The home warranty provided the insurance but every technician that has come out has not been able to repair any of the issues. The first issue was the handle as you know the handles break they ordered three different handles when all along it was the small white parts after the third time they declared the refrigerator unrepairable and purchased me another one before I disposed of this I went on your website to find handle pieces for six dollars and repaired it. The second claim was a power surge and the technician declared the refrigerator totaled. They bought me a new one before I disposed of this one I found the two protection fuses on the circuit board did their job blown six dollars. This latest go round I decided not to make a claim because they would never know what to do for the ice damning issue I went on your site I have no problem with paying you $$ for your amazing kit your instructions are a clear and step-by-step. Your kit has great parts as well as insulation and the pro tap connectors I discovered through you. I also used you to check out the fan and also check out the defrost mode which if there’s an ice issue in the future we just use. I wanna thank you for all that you do and wish you luck again this refrigerator has more than paid for itself three times over but I learned something new how to work on this unit. Oh and your kit arrived in a day! What more can I say excellent
Hi thank you very much You have helped me a lot My refrigerator was not working for months It was showing Error codes I follow your instructions and its start working
LOL Steve the appliance guy here in Las Vegas the refrigerator evaporator freezing in the upper right hand corner is super common repair that I have to do everymonth. I did not learn about the supco aftermarket additional heater until a few months back but there's also another fix as the supco aftermarket heater is difficult to install for a rookie because you're going to be dealing with a very small short piece a wire coming off the heater plug that you attach it to when you go to splice the supco heater. Another UA-camr used spray foam in a can that you can get it any home store and spread up around the evaporator coils as they come into the upper right of the evaporator and this should keep ice from forming. My LOL is I forgot that the foams expands and expanded right back over the fan blades again so I had to do a call back and cut away some of the foam away from the fan blades. The unit went back to working and hopefully I don't get a call back in the future on this unit but those are your two choices the aftermarket supco heater or spray foam on the upper right evaporator coils as they come into the fridge those are your only solutions to keep the problem from reoccurring
Been there... done that (but didn't a T-shirt). Discovered that Great Stuff brand makes a "Window & Door" foam that is low-expansion and pliable. Price at Lowes is $5.98 (9/24). It won't take much to do the fridge, so give the can to the homeowner ( it's hard to clean and reuse the can when the foam cures in the tube and valve). The homeowner will probably appreciate that he can use the foam to insulate around his doors/windows and save money on energy costs towards paying for your service call.
Thank you! It was the next pair of buttons in but it worked! The fridge went into error after a power hit and this fixed it! Thank you for posting this!
I have a 10 year old Samsung RF24FSEDBSR fridge and sometimes it will switch from cubed ice to crushed ice on its own. And, the cubed ice icon light is dimmer than the rest of the icon lights. It's been like this for years because I never got around to figuring it out but now I want to find a solution. It appears to be pretty easy to take the panel off but I'm not sure about how to fix the dim crushed ice light. I've read that moisture may be what had cause it from switching ice modes on its own, so I'm thinking that probably did something to the light to make it dimmer. Any suggestions?
Omg. Thank you. We lost power one day a few months ago and the fridge wouldn’t let us reset the panel. The manual was zero help. This just reset it. All good
Thanks so much for your video. Very informative and helpful. We accidentally put our frig into "Demo" mode with the 0F showing in the display. Through your guidance, we were able to clear that out and return to normal. Thanks again.
Its fusterating because one dumb move can ruin your food... I think that the day before shooting this when we were testing this fridge at my shop (I sell used appliances so we get our hands on a lot of product)... I did that. Took me a little moment or two to realize what was going on and thought "Hey, I need to make a video on that..." Along with all the other modes, too. The forced defrost mode is really a big one here because it helps troubleshoot a lot of garbage these fridges create.
Hey thanks !! This is really helpful , we’ve always just unplugged the fridge for a few hours to defrost once maker it’s messy and risks losing our food so this will help!! I searched ur whole channel and still can’t find help to what I need exactly thou so maybe you can help ? We unplugged it the other day to move it back to its original plug spot , (home warranty people plugged it in in the wrong spot when they were here ) since then it’s been flashing 3 codes ( 5E, 22E, 39E) and locked out of panel , I have found all the codes meanings but where do I go from there ? Do I just do the forced mode ?
Thank you for the video! I’ve added an extra heater to my Samsung but when I’m testing it in Fd it’ll come on for about 15 sec and shuts off. Am I doing something wrong?
So I have a R 26 error code reset many times, next is to run defrost on freezer? Before I saw this video I was thinking of unplugging fridge and leave door open for 30 min on freezer. THX 4 your vid was very informative.
Thanks for a great video. My Samsung fridge freezer does not cool down until I power it off and then power back on. It then runs normally only for a few hours (cooling down both the fridge and freezer)and then it starts to warm up. When this happens the compressor does not run and the temperature display shows the set temperature (in my case 4C and -18C) even though the fridge and freezer have warmed up. When you power off and on the actual (warmer) temperature is shown and it slowly decreases down to its setting. I'm having to do this twice a day. Please help!
Hi Ben, thanks so much for your video. Samsung has refused to help me by explaining any of the codes so I am very grateful to you. In fact the person I talked to wanted me to unplug the fridge for 8 hours instead! I'm a small senior and have no idea how I could have moved it to do that-and spoil all the contents. What I'd really like to know is how to set the icemaker to OFF so that it doesn't make ice since I rarely use it in the winter. Right now it is intermittently making an awful racket in the motor in the back of the unit. It stops when I open the fridge door. I've put it into ice maker defrost again as I fear that the ice has reached back there. Is there something else I should be doing? I have the RF25HMED8SR manufatured in 2016. Thank you.
That’s the problem I am working on. The fan in the fridge is hitting ice buildup, when you open the door the fan shuts off. I have been using his videos to try and fix the problem. He has other videos to show how to take it apart. And there are others on you tube that can show you. I watched one where a woman was doing it. Good luck
Unfortunately these issues will repeat every 3-6 months. I’ve been dealing with this nonsense since the beginning. The easiest method, aside from taking the back panel out, just unplug it overnight and keep the French doors open. Next morning, dry off the lower part bottom. You should be to see water. By the way, also remember to take out the ice maker when unplug the fridge. After drying up the water, you should be good to go.
My fridge has code 39 E for ice maker. Samsung says I need to replace it. But I don’t even have it hooked up to water line. I don’t use it anyway so how to clear code without replacing? Thank you in advance
Thanks for the video; short and to the point!! Just the way I like them. Would it be the same (corresponding) buttons for a RS23A500As, (maybe RS28A500As both numbers are on my manual) as mine has a different configuration (inside the refrigerator door.) Also are the error codes the same for the various models?
Think this video may have solved my no power issue! Thanks for such a clear video. My Samsung is model RB195ACBP, so a bit different look/placement of the screen, but think it was the same process, correct?
I hope it helps! I got tired of seeing so many videos with various steps that were recorded real hastily, so I decided to make as many videos as I could @ my used appliance store of these common tricks/ect but hopefully explained well enough to make it easy for anyone to do.
I have a RF4287 Samsung refrigerator, that I went to lower the freezer temp, it quit freezing all together along with the Ice-maker. No error codes either. I have tried all the tricks you have put up and others. Including forced freeze. still not freezing. I ran FF for a couple of hours and the temp actually went up from 36 deg to 37 in the freezer. the main is at the set temp. I am at a loss. any suggestions before I call in the expensive tech?

Thanks for the video it help me. I had turned my power off to fix an electrical outlet and I gess by doing so it set a 5 E code on my Samsung side by side. But I did what you said and everything went back to normal. Thanks again.
All I needed was to reset my panel. I tried another tip and it didn't work. But your's did Ben. Right on! Thank You! RF 268 Series.
Thank you SO much!! You just saved us so much. You were the only one who gave us the proper buttons to push for the OFF code. Thank you thank you thank you!
No problem! When I did this video, I tried to think of as many codes as I could fit in, and didn't see any good videos tackling the off/demo code, so I made sure to include it!
@@bensappliancesandjunk 😁
If I could give more than one thumbs up on a video I would on this one. Saved my bacon on several occasions after power outages. Thank you
Right on
Thank you Ben. My fridge didn't show any errors but it was coming as much as usual
When I checked like u said the code it gave reflect fan error.
Will this trick fix the fan error?
I was getting worried that I didn't the code, then at almost the end you showed it. Thanks for the help!
This helped save me $139 Plus additional fees . Thanks ever so much.
NICE!
Thanks for the video. Mine was flashing 4 and 2. I held the two you mentioned for 8 seconds and it fixed the issue. Mike
Thank you! I just had to clear the demo mode (I have no idea how it got into that mode). But my fridge immediately came back to life! Much thanks!
Thank God and you for this video! I was about to run and get a new fridge!
THANK YOU! Completely saved me from having to call serviceman, etc 💯💯💯
Thank you! It was the next pair of buttons in but it worked! The fridge went into error after a power hit and this fixed it! Thank you for posting this!
Thank you so much! Saved my Aunt a ton of money with this!
You save my life my food my money my mind everything. Thank you I really appreciate
Watched this and fixed our Samsung fridge feeezer. Fantastic. 🎉
Specific buttons to do as you did? My fridge doesn't have a HUD outside, its got a keypad inside. What would be the equivalent location in my case?
Omg. Thank you. We lost power one day a few months ago and the fridge wouldn’t let us reset the panel. The manual was zero help. This just reset it. All good
I appreciate this UA-cam channel, you actually are working on the fridge I have and some similar model! ThankYou Ben

I did that. Took me a little moment or two to realize what was going on and thought "Hey, I need to make a video on that..."
Along with all the other modes, too. The forced defrost mode is really a big one here because it helps troubleshoot a lot of garbage these fridges create.
@@bensappliancesandjunk YOU ARE THE BEST , THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Commenting to say thank you. This reset worked luckily. First google hit.
Thank you so much for for this video was able to clear the error code that was there for 3 days and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it
Thanks again Ben, I just got rid of the codes on that lousy Samsung fridge.
THANK YOU!!! Easy to follow instructions.
Thanks for taking time to make and post this.
Thank you very much. I have a Samsung RF26HFENDSL. Pressing the Power Cool and the Power Freeze buttons for 8 seconds did the trick. Thanks again.
Շատ շնորհակալություն ճիշտ խորհուրդի համար👍
Would it be the same (corresponding) buttons for a RS23A500As, (maybe RS28A500As both numbers are on my manual) as mine has a different configuration (inside the refrigerator door.)
Also are the error codes the same for the various models?
Thanks you. I had E-14 and E-40 flashing. Pressed the top two buttons. It is clear now. 😁
Think this video may have solved my no power issue! Thanks for such a clear video. My Samsung is model RB195ACBP, so a bit different look/placement of the screen, but think it was the same process, correct?
Yes. There are a few different buttons sometimes but they almost always map to the same positions.
How kind of you. I was paying for all these services but your video has really helped me to clear my code I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
This vid just saved me like $300 bucks, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice!
You are good good good. Your info fixed it. I was getting the error code. Thanks Ben.
Great video , I found the fridge in the O F mode. IT was easy to clear Just don't know how it got that way. Thanks.
This video has been worth a steak dinner! Thank you for making this available.
This guy is awesome with clear directions!
Thank you for the tutorial. I was having the same issue with my Samsung french door fridge. Thos worked for me.
Giant shout out to you thanks I had the OF display and was going nuts until you showed me how to fix it thank you so much I subscribed to you channel and a big thumbs up
Great video! Thank you for taking the time to explain everything!
I really do thank you so much! That OF error code was giving me the blues. How was it activitated? Thanks again!
Thank you so much!!!! I got to fix my dads frig for him!! You made me look Like the hero! ❤️
Hi thanks for the video! I attempted to do the last thing you mentioned holding down the Freezer and Energy Saver down for 8 seconds to get the fridge out of Demo mode but it still went right back to displaying OF OF for both fridge and freezer. Did I do something wrong?
Thank you so much this video has helped me save on money and time.
Great video❣️ Explained so simply, better than the manual!
Glad it was helpful!
I just had to hit like on this video, cuz it fixed my fridge 👍👍
Thanks, Ben. We were back up and running in no time!
Thank You so so much! Ahhhh I have been going crazy trying to get this issue fixed! You are the best! THANK YOU for sharing! AMAZING!
Great video. Short and to the point. Thank you!🥊
Great info, but I'm still having a tough time figuring out what the 72C code is & how to address the problem.
