Mo Salah has given the LFC fans so many years of wonderful football memories and here we are trying to make money out of him by getting rid of him. This is the psychology of lower middle class human beings who have never seen a big load of money all their life. I think Salah is intelligent enough to understand all this non sense. Hes had to deal with leaving mid season, coming back with an injury, barely recovering, and being throwing into the business end of the season. Liverpool brought many players throughout the past 10 years. Which of those have Salah's numbers, availability, consistency.
The argument is WHEN should liverpool sell Salah, because they will sell him anyway. I would say when he is DONE after 2,3 years from now. If you sell him NOW, you risk (by your choice) selling a player that easily gets you 35+ goal contributions each season, in return for the unknown.

@@mullaway5746 I think it's not a small club to worry that much about finances. I think the owners themselfs does not worry about the money as much as we do. We are giving the owners a reason one a plate of gold not to invest in new quality players unless they sell Salah. I would say let him stay and bring more quality players to strengthen the squad to compete in all competitions. Why us as fans need to worry about finances? The club need to spend like a big club similar to City, Chelsea, United if they want to compete.

Putting the spat with klopp to one side. Salah still has a lot to offer. He can still score 20 goals a season for another 3 seasons with the right management. His professionalism and fitness is an example to all young forwards.
It is no surprise and very much acceptable to make exceptions to an exceptional player such as Salah!
An extension to Salah's contract will improve his value immensely, especially if he has a successful first year with Slot. Salah would love another year in the Champions League and he can then be sold to Saudi the following year for immense value.

every striker goes through bad patches - but you can tell mo loves lfc and clearly still has a good couple years left - and after seeing what happened to henderson probably doesnt fancy the saudi pro league yet - but if you want to maximise any sale, now is probably the right time to sell - im more worried about dom at the moment he should be at his peak

For starters I am glad Edwards is back at the helm of the club reference transfers. I am sure he will do whats best for the club. Personally for me its a no brainer if the Saudis make an offer in excess of £100m. He is 32 now past his peak and clearly on a downhill trend. Mo is already a club legend whatever happens.

If Hughes is the Director of Football perhaps its not up to Michael Edwards. Perhaps Hughes wants to give him the contract and Edwards trusts Hughes judgement.
Also Edwards over time may have learned new things - perhaps there are even more metrics to take into account for players these days vs when he used to do the analytics for LFC.

Great idea to keep Mo for more years and not sell him at this point at the anticipated discounted price. With his work Ethics, disciplined life style and experience Mo can last in good form until he is 37 years, at least.
Salah will be fitter next season, no AFCON, champions league beckons for him Trent and VVD plus I think they will all like Slotty, I like him already, we are offloading Thiago, Matip, Phillips, Williams maybe Carvallho too so will have some funds available for DM and defender, let’s be a bit more positive, considering all our changes the season was decent plus Bradley and others have emerged plus Bacetic should be fit next season
We need the
Allison, VVD, Trent and Salah all to remain for another 3 years to help the young players coming through and fulfil their potential. The 3 have not become bad players overnight. Gary Neville is right, the team have done well considering where they were last season. We still have improved. We didnt have enough to stay in the title race but now is not the time to rip everything to pieces and start from scratch. A CD, A CDM and a More clinical Striker in addition to what we have and we can improve again.
Salah has only one year left in his contract and since he had shown during the last few matches that he doesnt have anymore interest or motivation, why not sell him and get a big sum. This sum of money can be utilise by the new manager to bring in a good top rated player.

Salah isn't bigger than this club. It's not just kloop he's fallen out with. I've read the Bobby book and there's a few things in there where as he had to separate mane and salah on a few occasions. I love salah but I feel if he doesn't leave soon it may harm is legacy. We need new beginnings now out with the old in with the new. My opinion.

A good idea would be to offer him a 2 year extension, but if a significant offer comes in from Saudi Arabia, then the option to sell him comes back onto the table. An insurance policy of sorts. Can't have him walk away on free next year!
