Play with me and switch between IMPROVISATION and COMPING!
This is a faster version of my previous interactive backing track on AUTUMN LEAVES, more fun to play for expert, advanced, or pro players.
For intermediate level improvisers I suggest to warm up with the slower version first, and then continue with this one!
This is the link to the other version:

You can DOWNLOAD my transcription of the theme here:

I suggest you memorize the melody and the chord progression.
We can start with you playing the theme and me playing the chords, then you take the first chorus of solo.
After that we switch, you comp and I solo, and we are going to IMPROVISE for two choruses each.
At the end you can play the theme again one more time, repeating the last phrase 3 times as a CODA.
VERY IMPORTANT: pay close attention to the drums, especially when you are comping and I'm soloing, because that's going to be your main reference for the rhythm and for the structure.
This the the most important exercise: always LISTEN!
    IMPROVISATION TIPS
Depending on your level, you can simply use a Bb major scale and a Gm pentatonic, or add more complex sounds.
For example I'm often using ARPEGGIOS, to try to build melodic lines that outline the chord tones, and a G harmonic minor scale or a D superlocrian scale every time there is a D7, to try to emphasize its tension and its function of dominant of the minor key.
    COMPING
Choose the style you prefer! From simple straight chords played in quarter notes, to the use of some seventh chords inversions, or extensions. Until the use of the walking bass + chords technique, if you already know how to do that (I am planning to cover this very interesting topic in the future in the lessons of my guitar course).
This interactive play along is best for guitar, piano, bass, vibes, or any other harmonic instrument... But it can also be used by saxophone or trumpet players, clarinet etc. Horns players: you should play a counterpoint line when I'm soloing!

I've been looking for that kind of "fronting" track for years to train comping. Thanks.

Buen trabajo entonces, y si tienes algunas dunas siempre puedes escribir!!
