Bethlehem, Freestate is a town in the eastern Free State province of South Africa that is situated on the Liebenbergs river (also called Liebenbergs Vlei) along a fertile valley just north of the Rooiberg Mountains on the N5 road. It is the fastest growing town in the Free state province, with its target of being the third largest city after Bloemfontein and Welkom.

Thanks for a awesome clip of Bethlehem, I was fortunate to live there for a year and a half in 2005, sadly I had to leave and living abroad now, I love that town, this has made me very nostalgic , the colours in autumn, Sunday lunch in Clarens, ect I have travelled the globe and the eastern free state is just magical. Thank you kindly for giving me a chance to pass trough the town streets again.

What's needed of this town to make it better is a higher institution like a university or a technikon , preferably a technikon because it's neighbouring town QwaQwa already has a University. Nonetheless , it's beautiful and clean.

How did they save the place from a frog plague??

In 1930, a massive outbreak of African clawed frogs (Xenopus laevis) occurred in the town's reservoir and surrounding areas. The frogs had been introduced to the area a few years earlier for use in pregnancy testing, and had escaped into the wild.
The sudden explosion of the frog population caused significant ecological and economic damage, as they ate up local insect populations and destroyed crops. The frogs also carried diseases which affected both animals and humans.
Efforts were made to control the frog population, such as draining the reservoir and using various poisons, but they proved largely ineffective. Eventually, the plague subsided on its own, possibly due to natural predators and disease.
Today, the Great Frog Plague of 1930 is remembered as a significant event in the history of Bethlehem and the Free State province, and serves as a cautionary tale about the potential dangers of introducing non-native species to an ecosystem.
