Malls are going strong here in Minneapolis and St Paul. Probably due to the 6 months of cold, the Mall of America and the first mall ever (Southdale) and all the other suburban malls are still thriving. Rosedale just did a huge add on and major renovation and it's booming!
At least here in the Bay Area this has become quite a bit more noticeable just in the past couple of years. The crowds at the malls are not just noticeably smaller, but noticeably more female. Many women still want to go shopping, but men don't want to "go shopping", they just want to buy stuff. Much less reason to go to the mall for that nowadays.
Oh please! It's the little guy (middle class to some) that's struggling! High taxes slowed the money going into his pocket & he stopped going to the mail! Don't believe me then look at his paycheck! Just pointing out.
I miss the catalogs , want to see in person what I'm buying, how ever there prices were to high for times were hard due to gas prices, food prices , utilities. all have gone up. took time to recover. Hate to even browse on line , don't purchase on line. putting to many out of jobs, customer service sucks now a days. lots of stores out of business in Mo. getting ready to lose Mid Rivers. so many stores gone. Wentzville , Warrenton just to name a few. Refuse to go through Amazon.
I don't remember the last time I was in a mall or a wal-mart store, probably back in the 80's. . I try to shop online or with local small businesses where I get good products and good customer service.
Mainman1274 How did your ancestors came to the U.S? Some people need to get more educated and read more. It belongs more to the Mexican people and the Native Americans. If you haven't done your research. Mexico ceded nearly all the territory now included in the U.S. states of New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, California, Texas, and western Colorado for $15 million and U.S. assumption of its citizens' claims against Mexico. When the U.S took all these lands they also took the Mexican people with them.

It's hard to believe this story was from 5 years ago and it's only gotten worse
Out here in the Bay Area, malls haven’t even starting dying yet...
We used to visit a mall almost every weekend back in the sixties.
Back when the stuff at the mall wasn’t all CRAP.
What do you mean? Do you mean like fast fashion designs?

Let the Latinos buy it, it will thrive
@Costa Zambaras At least they won't leave it to rot like the white people do.
@Costa Zambaras You're pathetic.
Rouse is Las Vegas
I never wanted to go to the mall.
Sometimes I had to go to the mall.

I never ever spent any money at malls. I don’t care for crowds either

Come back to EU and give back america to americans :D
@@davidispan8746 EU is losing members
That only works for Mexicans. But Hispanic U.S. citizens enjoy the experience of a thriving mall.
Not practical since they want free stuff!
