@helm remove OBSE from your mod manager, then follow this tutorial ua-cam.com/video/1uBRCV5BvSw/v-deo.html then re install the mods in the following order > Blockheads > Character Overhaul it worked for me, hope it helps
Thank you! I'm literally trying this in 2024 using Windows 11 and it was an absolute nightmare. Every time I'd move obse_loader into the directory, it would keep me stuck in a loop of Windows requesting and denying permission. To get around this, I had to straight up turn my antivirus off (which was safe) because newer Windows systems are very panicky. I also tried Wrye Bash and Vortex as mod managers and they both couldn't get this to work. I had to use an older version of Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) to get this to work. Thankyou so much.
I looked all over the internet for a guide that would help me fix the blockhead issue and your video helped me fix my issue. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i honestly need help with this mod, can ANYONE do it right tbh? I've watched at least 5-6 people and I still can't get it right.. I feel like this is the closest I've ever gotten but 3:50 - 4:01 really screwed me over
video is very good, tanks you, eu procurava por um tutorial, mas nenhum BR tinha feito, ai vim procurar em videos gringos e consegui, obrigado, e ta funcionando bem até o momento, tanks you :D
I think the most annoying part about modding this game is that some people say "Only use Nexus Mod Manager!" and other people say "Only use Oblivion Mod Manager!" and so many tutorials only show one way and other only show the other. Will someone just PICK A MOD MANAGER. It's absolutely mental how many different ways there are to install the same bloody mod.
EVERYONE I FOUND OUT WHAT YOU NEED TO DO, FIRST OF DO NOT USE MOD ORGANIZER FOR OBLIVION MKAY? INSTALL THE CHARACTER OVERHAUL WITH THE NEXUS MOD MANAGER AND INSTALL BLOCKHEADS MANUALLY BY DROPPING IT INTO PLUGINS
TheBroKenMaN xD took me like 5h 2 fuck the game up, can no longer play through obse_loader.exe (some how oblivion.esm is gone, estranges part is that i can play it as i did before. But now all character have this text on there heads "please install headblock") help?
I mean the mod does have some glitches, but if i was you I would just reinstall everything (btw this has happened to me before with many mods) and the solution always been to uninstall any mods that may interfere with the oblivion character overhaul mod, thanks for the feedback
TheBroKenMaN the thing is i don't have a clue where the oblivion manual is. and without it i cant install oblivion (since i had it when it came out for the first time on a disc)
It is so incredibly easy! Just install blockhead with NMM (Nexus Mod Manager), make sure that blockhead.dll and blockhead.ini is in Oblivion/Data/OBSE/Plugins. After that's done, which takes a minute, just install this mod with NMM. If that doesn't work, come back.
I've done all the steps, and it seems when I launch from steam that the mod works fine without using the OBSE launcher. Is it possible the mods been updated to work without the launcher, or am I gonna break something in the game when using steam to launch? EDIT: Never mind, seems OBSE doesn't want you to run the game through NMM if you have a steam copy. Thanks for the video, everything works great.
For any people that are having problems installing the mod and then the Nexus mod manager not working afterwards this problem usually occurs because of other mods inferring and causing the mod manager to crash, and stop working either for a short time or and overall. Thank you for your comments, if you're having issues leave a comment and I'll respond as soon as I possibly can (Mostly every week)
I'm really new to modding, and I'm having trouble with the blockhead download. I downloaded it and opened the file and it says 7z and only contains files having to do with 7 zip. I don't know what I did wrong
I got this tracelog eror: Cant create C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\obse_loader.exe, because file with this name already exists. What do I do, I can´t even open the damn NMM now..
I have the same background.. More importantly, I've already done everything you've done here and whenever I attempt to start a new game I CTD , after disabling OCOv2 the game works fine, but I don't have a clue on how to fix this, I will continue to look for answers in the meantime, should I find a fix I'll put a comment in.
I can't for the life of me get this mod to work lol... Install it and it looks nothing like what I've seen in videos and pictures. Could it be my vid card? 3060 12 gig? Of all the mods I am downloading again and installing this is the most difficult... trial and error I guess.
I've done all these steps, yet nothing happenes at all. I don't even get the blockheads error. Everyone just looks like their Vanilla self. Any suggestions?
+Leonard Liandro sorry for the late response, all you need to do is just copy the obse files into oblivion folder and run the obse_loader instead of the oblivion launcher please personally message me if your having any further trouble :)
Blinkingdogs Actually, I figured out my issues, I extracted all the folders and installed them that way, when I installed them as archives, it worked perfectly. Thanks for the response. : )
Please leave suggestions on things that you struggled downloading and I'll try my very best to find the solution and release a video helping you and the people who view the video, thank you.
Hey Broken, awesome video, but I have a big question that I cant seem to find an answer for. I download all the files, place them correctly, and used Nexus for installing the overhaul itself. I have no other mods but for some odd reason, everytime I start with this file enabled certain races dont have hair, they have nothing but a black head, they are just floating teeth and eyes, and sometimes, all three. You know any fix for that?
When I try to install OCO v2 in NMM it tells me "a problem occurred during install", but I followed everything as you did it in the video, do you know what could be the problem?
Do you use a different language, for example german? If yes, you don't get voices for the NPCs. I'm still looking for a patch, to get the voices back...
How is it Zuul gets 500subs yet you are under subbed? Also your video was 3x more helpfull. Also if you get the install block head issue, copy block head dll file into Obse plugins then when installing oco v2 DON'T overwrite any of the files.
I have my OBSE loader in my oblivion file and even tho i tell it to go to the oblivion file and then Obse_loader.exe (tried without exe aswell) It tells me it can't find that file.
It's basically a instruction to run the file and you're suppose to have everything linked; which means you're suppose to have every you clicked to get the OBSE LOADER in the nexus mod manager instruction
I figured it out ! ANd it was stupid on my part, i had D:\ In the beginning when i have a C drive my bad *face palm* But thank you for helping anyway even after one year :)
No problem lad. But if you have anyone more suggestions for videos that would be amazing. But I'll try to be more clear and precise next time; thank you very much for you comment.
if you're using the steam version use "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion\obse_loader.exe" without the "".
@helm if that launcher works use that, there might've been an update that changes it? If not you might be thinking of the folder
@helm remove OBSE from your mod manager, then follow this tutorial
ua-cam.com/video/1uBRCV5BvSw/v-deo.html
then re install the mods in the following order > Blockheads > Character Overhaul
it worked for me, hope it helps
hows the astronaut even gonna drink his drink
He doesn't
just believe
He's in a studio
Thank you so much. It worked perfectly. I spent 2 hours trying to figure it out before watching your video.
No problem :D glad to help
Thank you!

from 3:50 - 4:00 i have no clue what you're saying
Yeah sorry my accent is very hard to understand

if you're using steam use this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion\obse_loader.exe" without the ""
it may not be (x86) for everyone though, depends on your system, so if it's different for you change the (x86), everything else should be the same
video is very good, tanks you, eu procurava por um tutorial, mas nenhum BR tinha feito, ai vim procurar em videos gringos e consegui, obrigado, e ta funcionando bem até o momento, tanks you :D

Doesn't matter how which mod manager you use yourself just use the one you're more comfortable with and get on with the newly modded game
How do I launch the obse loader with steam?
EVERYONE I FOUND OUT WHAT YOU NEED TO DO, FIRST OF DO NOT USE MOD ORGANIZER FOR OBLIVION MKAY? INSTALL THE CHARACTER OVERHAUL WITH THE NEXUS MOD MANAGER AND INSTALL BLOCKHEADS MANUALLY BY DROPPING IT INTO PLUGINS
where can you find plugins
@@satchelsan6940 Plugins? You mean the plugin folder? It's here:
Steam > steamapps > common > Oblivion > Data> OBSE > Plugins
Ty, i have tried a long time getting this to work, and now it does :D
Np man, hope you enjoy the game even more
TheBroKenMaN

ok i don't need help any more, i was like fuck it it is a good game so i bought it again on steam, this time with horse armour
My friend, THANK YOU. You have no idea how long I wanted to properly try out this mod, and with your help, I was able to do it :D Again, thank you!
I don't understand the command part. The hell am I suppose to copy? I can barely make out what you are saying.
LandandSea sorry about that. My accent is very hard to understand
you didn't answer the question though!! aaaaah!
I’m fine now
howd you do it

thanks a lot, this video really helped me :)
Very glad to help
Thank you so much, man! Props!
Thanks mate you helped me out a lot!
thank you so much you helped me actually install it you're the best
You actually don't have to do the command part in NMM anymore. Bethesda the game at some point to automatically recognize the obse loader
Thanks dude it worked!
Thank you so much. I was trying many things to solve the problem with orcs having their vanilla ears and this did it.
Worked Well, good tutorial.
I installed with Oblivion Mod manager and it doesn't work properly. Please help if you can.
Edit: Got it to work with Wrye bash.
@@amari1368 I installed with Wrye Bash instead.
very very helpful! thanks a lot
+Enri Veseli No problem
Thank you so much dude! I thought I had wasted 20 dollars!
No problem man
you wouldnt have played it withou mods lmao

simple and to the point thank you
Thank you for uploading this. The mod maker's instructions are appalling if like me you aren't familiar with modding terminology.
When did you even install blockhead in this video... It was already in the folder for you?
Yeah you install it
TheBroKenMaN I figured it out. I guess for steam users it's a lot easier and less steps lol
Hello! I'm sorry but How did you remove the problem of the painted faces? I don't understand. Can you explain, please?

Man my game keep the message in the head ''install blockhead''

Thank you very much for 500 views
you mean 20,659 views?
Eh. My game crashes every time now. I've been trying to fix it for hours but no luck.
i try to launch custom oblivion, but what do i have to do with ´´unkown version´´ of oblivion error
I did exactly and when i try to launch it with obse , it says i have to launch it on steam , and when i do , it just runs normally without the mods
thanks helped me a lot
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
+Santiago Reke No problem , Thank for your comment
Nani defeq so it was just C:\Program file Beth softworks and now it’s obse loader I’m confused
Please leave suggestions on things that you struggled downloading and I'll try my very best to find the solution and release a video helping you and the people who view the video, thank you.

Zachary Bassetti You should re-installing the mods or even the game , that's the best solution i have for you, sorry :((
TheBroKenMaN I just used OBMM and it fixed it lol thanks man
Oh no bother hope you have fun playing the game
It worked for me! Спасибо! tho not all textures actually worked such as the beast races and sadly the dunmer
when i download blockhead I don't get a folder. Just a notepad .7z file
Mine won't work with Kaj and Argo Races.
i have steam version and i have no idea how to fix the install blockhead on the characters faces
Thanks, it worked for me! Why don't they say you need to start the game with the obse_loader? That was the only thing I needed.
When I try to install OCO v2 in NMM it tells me "a problem occurred during install", but I followed everything as you did it in the video, do you know what could be the problem?
probably not enough driver space
Do i have to create another character in order for this to work?
thx lot, works.
It's possible that this mod don't it does not allow to talk at npc? I can't hear the dialogues
I'm not sure, that's never happened to me
If you are using a different language it causes mute npcs.
everything works for me except the sounds.
my character has no voice just like every other npc
what do i have to do?
Dildobeutlin Its normal. In this game, like also in Skyrim, the character doesn't talk with the NPCs...
Thirion i know
but no one has a voice
Do you use a different language, for example german? If yes, you don't get voices for the NPCs. I'm still looking for a patch, to get the voices back...
I tried to use the custom launcher and after putting in the obse folder as the destination I can't even load oblivion nexus mod manager anymore
sorry for the late response that happened to me before, try uninstalling it and reinstalling. I know it sounds pretty stupid and simple
26/04/2019 still works
Thanks very much bro, are you Irish are ya?
No lad, I'm from Northern Ireland
Thank you :D
somehow i ended up with all races working fine exept khajit and orcs, any ideas?
That happened to me when I first downloaded it, I just made sure that i placed the files in the right spot and no files were missing
How is it Zuul gets 500subs yet you are under subbed? Also your video was 3x more helpfull.
Also if you get the install block head issue, copy block head dll file into Obse plugins then when installing oco v2 DON'T overwrite any of the files.
my khajiits lower teeth are going through his/her mouth
I followed it exactly but I still get the 'install blockhead' thing on the faces.
you're meant to run it as obse loader, thats the only way the mod works
you saved me
it did nothing but retexture the heads
i am sorry but i got lost on the command part, sorry could i have help?
If you don't know what to do during the command part you can just manually run through the actual file
thanks
:)
OH... nevermind. Found it
I nailed it but after i downloaded more mods it stopped working...
Its probably only one mod that messed the overhaaul mod up
I have my OBSE loader in my oblivion file and even tho i tell it to go to the oblivion file and then Obse_loader.exe (tried without exe aswell) It tells me it can't find that file.
Are you using steam ?
I am indeed.
It's basically a instruction to run the file and you're suppose to have everything linked; which means you're suppose to have every you clicked to get the OBSE LOADER in the nexus mod manager instruction

i don't have the "open file location" option on my short cut
honestly i don't know why this has to be so hard. character overhaul v1 is so much easier to get to work. why the hell is this such a pain in the ass
it works but i dont get sound in dialogue help
I literally couldnt understand anything u said..
Cringe Bot
I had to put headphones on, lol. It's better than those people that use notepad to say how to do things though.
WHERE IS OBSE PLUGINS!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!!?
i still have the blockhead error D:
how do you install BlockHead?
Collin Pace don’t need to install it just place it into the oblivion file
what are you even doing
this does not help those of us who have steam
you just have to find the location where the oblivion launcher is
What on earth are you saying????
speak up
u too quiet
please. speak up.
hm
what do i enter as a steam user into the command thing in nexus mod manager
You just run the game and hopefully it works, if it doesn't just leave another comment and I'll try to help you
