Thanks for your videos, you inspire me to make ELRS videos in my native language to make it more popular among old school guys that are ignoring this part of the hobby.
You should be able to use the Bind button in the BF receiver tab. No need for cli commands. You might also like to cover the volatile binding option found in the Rx Lua.
I just got into elrs a couple weeks ago. I have an issue of the rx losing bind with the tx. It happens sometimes in between batteries during a session and sometimes after ive made adjustments in bf. Its like it loses memory sometimes. I admit i didnt check versions on the rx or my boxer tx, nor have i updated either. I did the 3 plug method for binding.
Just a tip, if its not binding check that the rx is compatible with the packet rate you have set in the radio. Took me forever to figure that out with one of my quads
As far as I know, all RXs support all packet rates. What's more likely is you set a wifi timeout short enough to go into wifi mode before the Tx binds. I've been told by the lead dev and confirmed in my own setups in 3.4, they removed init rate and the Rx will now initialize at the last successful packet rate. Do you have an Rx that excludes certain packet rates? What manufacturer and what model?
@@RCVideoReviews Not sure why my reply didn't send so this might be a repeat... Yes, the receiver on the Tinyhawk 3+ Freestyle Analog. Because it's SPI based it doesn't work with any of the D or F packet rates. After I first got it, I watched every binding tutorial I could find and no one mentioned it, so it wasn't until I stumbled into a page on the ELRS wiki about it that I finally managed to bind the thing
Great video as always, I know it isn’t pertinent with this video but, I need help about edgetx. I have a mt12 surface radio and what I want to do is when I set for example the steering trim to -60, I would be able to reach +100 and not just +40 when I move the steering wheel the other way around. I tried to set the weight to 200 in the mixes page but this way I would reach the 100% steering with only the 50% of rotation of the steering wheel when the trim is centered. thank you in advance.
Just wondering, I fly my ELRS quads and planes with 2 TX-es with the same binding phrase. Using a binding phrase, I don't have to bind again if I use the other TX. Binding using the other possibilities, like the button, will require a new binding in case I switch to the other TX?
I believe so. Best bet is to experiment. The binding phrase is only used to generate a binding UID. If those are not identical on both RXs they won't both react to the TX. I would test this though.
I don't use ELRS purely because I have more receivers than aircraft (I bought a lot of R168's when they came out). However, I'm thinking it would be a good project as I always feel happiest on the craft that have Crossfire. A question: Methods 3 and 4 were so so simple, what are the advantages (if any) to Method 2?
I always flash RX to whatever my TX is running (at least the major version). So may as well stick the binding phrase in there while I'm at it. ER8 = $35 ER6 = $30 EPW6 = $14 Would trust those three over any other RX you could give me (along with the other RM RPx/ERx series but the 6/8 are my go-to for fixed wing).
I only fly ELRS on my fixed wing now. And starting to head that way for helis. I still use Crossfire on my quads, but that's because I've been too lazy to swap them out for ELRS.
@@RCVideoReviews I did it! An R168 in a nice balsa Cub decided to continuously lose bind which spurred on the purchase of 4 x ER6, 1 x ER6VG and a Ranger Micro! Much RCVR rewatching ensued! Now everything I care about will go ELRS unless it's already on Crossfire. The remaining aircraft can stay on Frsky/clone or S******m as the fleet could do with a bit of a reduction ;)
The method I use is similar to method 2 . I use the configurator and then save the file to my ELRS folder. Next I power up my receiver using a servo tester and wait the 60 seconds until it goes into WiFi mode. I then get on my computer 🖥️ and click on the expresslrs WiFi signal and then I update the RX using the ELRS folder that has the bind phrase ect. After that it’s ready to go 🎉
If someone can't bind their receiver after these great instructions, I feel bad for you, son 😅

Good! We need more voices out there explaining why this tech deserves consideration.

I swear I couldn't find that button when I started toying with this. I can see it in the video. Eyes see what they want to see I guess.
There is a fifth way!
4 ways to skin a cat amazing as always John you pretty much bound all 4 ways in the time most bind once
Take Care
That should just about cover binding I hope 😎
Woow all methods to Bind the receiver and transmitter covered in this video.
Thanks for replying 🙏
Almost all? www.expresslrs.org/quick-start/binding/#updated-binding-procedure-since-expresslrs-340
The book says there are 4 ways. What did I miss?
If you open ELRS configurator and then connect RX via wifi, you get a pop up and all fields will be filled in automatically, wonderful.
Great video bro. Nice and easy to follow.
Glad you liked it!

Sure thing :)

Look into a curve or offset.
Is this RP3-H a hileli rx? Bought one with intentions of using it on a Quadcoper.

@@RCVideoReviews Thank you. I am very strongly considering moving to ELRS for every plane I care about that doesn’t already have Crossfire

Express lrs continues to impress me. Hopefully somebody comes out with additional sensors at some point
FC's (Speedybee, RotorFlight) can help some. And vbat is available on most RXs now.
What if there is no bind button only a boot button?
That’s the button.
If only there was a 5th way
3.5
3.4 is 4 ways.
3.5 will be 5 and so on.
@@RCVideoReviews 🤣
Bind 🎉
Once, twice , three times a lady ! Lol
