Great advert for Spitfire Audio. Quite humorous too. Get a great idea and the kids walk in. I knew composing for me came to an end in 85 when my girls were young, but after watching many of these videos (Spitfire Audio) I find the urge to start again. This is quality content channel. Thanks.

Hi Spitfire, just wanted to ask if there was any further information regarding the way Trevor (or any other media composers) configure bus routing from Cubase stems into Pro Tools. i.e what software or hardware is involved to connect the I/o between the two DAWs and what the I/o limits are? Thanks for the great video as always! :)

I don't know how they do it, but I use Mac and Mac has a built in MIDI router that works great (see MIDI Studio under Audio MIDI Setup). My colleagues who use Windows use an inexpensive router called Loopebe30.

I have a question regarding recording a live orchestra.
If you have synths that mix with the orchestra, do you have playback for the musicians? Or do the musicians have a click track? Or are they exactly in time because of the conducter?
I thought of this question while listening to Road to emerald city, which is a Trevor Morris composition.

So am I right in thinking that as far as articulations are concerned with the various instruments, that they would have their own track with an instance of Kontakt, or is one instrument setup as a multi for the various articulations? Hope that makes sense!

It can be done, there are "Rewire" apps that do that, for me the solution is using PatchMix app from the interface that has its own mixer and routing options. I know that Apollo Twin has the same option and some Focusrite, but my previous 2i2 did not had.
