    Buy a Zero FX and go ride with her! My daughter asked for a hi ou dirt bike to ride along with my Zero. Thanks for the review!

    Awesome video! Did you consider any of the Razor models when you had purchased this one? If so, what made you go with this one over the Razor mx350 for example. I like how this one has the dual suspension.

      I actually owned the MX350 before the Hiboy DK1 and have a lot of things that I liked so much more on the Hiboy. (1) The DK1 has a much better throttle, if you give it 20% throttle then it gives 20% power, whereas the Razor was an on/off throttle (2) DK1 has suspension and the Razor doesn't (3) It's substantially lighter 38lbs vs 49lbs (4) The DK1 has a lithium ion battery, whereas the Razor has a lead acid battery (5) DK1 charging time is 4-5 hours and the Razor is closer to 12 hours (6) Riding Time on the Hiboy is about 1-1.5 hours, the Razor is about 30-40 minutes. In my opinion, the Hiboy is much better especially considering that they are about the same price. Also, I tested out the newest version that comes with a headlight and horn.
      I did consider the MX500; but at $700 that was just way too steep for me. Thanks for the question!

    Thanks for the review! Really tempted to get my 7 yr old one. Also, you should get a Surron or talaria to ride with her. I have a talaria and it’s a ton of fun!

      I have my eyes on the Surron, but I really like the Talaria as well; just haven’t decided which one before I decide to buy. Thank you for the comment!

      @@BikeHombre here’s my opinion. You can’t go wrong with either bike… but… I went with the talaria because of these reasons: I have longer legs and the talaria sits a little higher. It comes stock with a larger back tire. The talaria has more torque up front while the surron has more response when you are already cruising. They are so fun, so you should totally pull the trigger sometime soon!

    Hey there 2 questions. What would you recomend for my 6 yr old sons first bike between The DK1 or the Razor SX500? I think from my research I am leaning more toward DK1 because the 3 speed settings. Also what area are you guys located? The scenery looks amazing. We are in Nevada and have similar looking areas with dirt roads with hardly any traffic which seem perfect for this bike. Thanks!

      Since it would be your sons first bike I would recommend the DK1. It’s more user friendly due to the three speeds and it’s so much lighter. The SX500 is a great bike and it does have front and rear brakes, but it is a lead-acid battery, has only one speed, from what I read it weighs more than 80+ lbs and the ride time is only 30-40 min.
      What I’m doing with my daughter is to teach her on the DK1 and once she masters it move up to a MX650 (I would like the Honda or KTM, I just can’t justify the cost if she’s just cruising around where we live)
      I live in mountains of East San Diego. It is insanely beautiful and a perfect place to live for an electric dirt bike like this. I have a buddy who is going to be moving to the mountains in Nevada, I think an hour or so outside of Vegas, and it looks so beautiful out there. I think if you went with the DK1 I think you would be happy and your son too. But regardless of which one you choose, let me know which one you chose and how your son likes it. Thank you for the comment and have a great holiday!

    I Wonder what battery mod would make the bike go up steeper hills

    • @BikeHombre
      @BikeHombre  Рік тому +1

      My guess is that you would have to upgrade the battery and the controller to put more power output. But I think the bike has enough power for the age group that it's intended for. It's hard to tell but in the clip where my daughter is going slow uphill, that hill is much steeper than it appears in video and it's much steeper than the 10 degrees that I mentioned. On a normal 10 degree slope if you're going let's say 10mph, the bike will slow to about 7-8 mph.
