  • Hello and welcome to my sewing room!
Today I'm showing you how to make my
#10 Home Town Quilt Block in 5" and also 10" size.
I am using my latest fabric collection HOME TOWN designed by me and produced and distributed by the fabulous Riley Blake Designs.
I have given you the cutting recipe for both sizes below so be sure and click until the entire description of this video is visible below.
I am making these blocks to go into the HOME TOWN SEW ALONG QUILT which takes place on my blog every Friday and Monday during this sew along.
CLICK on this link to go to my blog:
    beeinmybonnetc...
Each tutorial I'll be showing you just one of ten blocks.
I'm also going to make several blocks of each of the ten to make a quilt for my bed and then I'll design 6 more and add them to my quilt...of course I'll show you how to make those as well!
I'll take you along on that journey with me as I sew blocks each time on my vintage featherweight sewing machine.
Thank you for joining me today:)
I hope that you enjoy our time together in my sewing room!!

Lori, I have decided to take up quilting in my last year of teaching before I retire, as I won't need so many clothes anymore. I don't have much time to sew right now, but I am storing away all of the knowledge for the next phase of my life. Thank you!

Lori, please know you bring joy into each one of our lives, and give us so much inspiration. You must know how much we learn from you. I am a seasoned quilter, but my piecing is so much more precise because of you and Kimberly Jolly. Somehow it is so much more fun to sew knowing my skills have improved. I love your Cute Cuts Rulers and actually everything you bring to us. I wanted to Thank You from my heart for the time and skills you share with us. Please thank Cass for such a good job she does which makes it possible for us to visit with you in your sewing room‼️❤️

I really love the new music. I have to say Lori that I have come a very long way with my piecing since finding you videos when you first got your channel. I’m much more comfortable making smaller size blocks. Thank you so much!! Blessings

I totally agree with you that all the little meticulous tasks required in piecing can be very meditative when you’re not in a rush and just enjoy the process. I don’t mind the repetitive nature of it at all. I, too, will put on a movie or an audiobook and just work away. That’s what makes quilting so therapeutic! 😊

Thank you Lori for this series. I am having sew much fun making these blocks. I will be sad when this series is over. It's like having you in my sewing room as I watch these videos and make these blocks. The layout for your bed quilt is beautiful! Just bought a fat quarter bundle of Bee Dots and can't wait to make more of these blocks with this line. They will be so cute. I love all of your fabric lines and especially appreciate the evergreen lines. Thank you Lori for all you do! I am really looking forward to your Autumn line coming in 2024. I am considering using it to make your Autumn Love quilt. So thankful that the tutorials for your sew alongs stay on your blog. ❤

Hi Lori, I'm getting ready to start another quilt. It's an all stars quilt. But I want to make it bigger than the original, so it requires additional star blocks. All the stars are different, so I decided to ratio up to 12 inch, some of your blocks from this series. I think it'll be a perfect addition. Thanks for these tutorials. They're awesome.

Hey there Lori. I have a question? Are these the same houses that are in our calendar and the quilt seed (not sure that is the name I bought 9 it seems like)? The houses are in a packet with the pattern and the fabric if that helps you with what I am talking about. If so, should or could I follow along in this “sew your stash” for the block sashing ? Or is there a pattern somewhere I can eventually buy?

all the extra blocks are at the end of one of the Home Town quilt blocks except Block #10 Home Town 5" Quilt Block
I have been printing a pic of the extra blocks till I complete them (the (4) 5" blocks, the 5" blocks around the 10" block and the 10" block
this is not available for the Block #10 Home Town 5"Quilt Block
How can I get these pics --- I tried stopping on the pic from the video and printing screen but it doesn't work
    could you please help thanks

Love this quilt! I just have a question on the alternate 5.5" squares...you said you get 13 per width of fabric but I am coming up with 7 (with a little left over). Just curious on that as it will change the total yardage needed. Thank you!!
