Organization is my weak spot. I have a fair supply of food, fuels and pew pews but if something should happen to me, the rest of the family will be pretty lost trying to find everything. We have no plans for bugging out but I have recently become more worried about having to evacuate if a neighbors house should catch fire. Guess I should prepare bugout bags and inventory lists after all.
At 12:04 the (new) plunger to get is a "bathtub plunger", one that does not have the accordion sides. The old school red plunger is the best, and yes it is meant for sinks and bathtubs. The toilet plunger has the accordion sides, which is helpful for toilets, but (by my own experience) is worse at cleaning clothes.
I had no idea that the red plunger was not supposed to be used for the toilet. Wow. I've been on this planet for 52 years and I'm pretty sure that's the only kind of plunger I've ever seen in our bathroom.
I use the app my pantry tracker, it makes knowing what’s in my pantry. I live in the country so mountain lions and coyotes are a real challenge. So makings sure lights , and all the bells are working. My 6 bill massifs are the best alert system. They don’t depend on internet or electricity like the cameras. There are also getting to checkout swap meet, thrift stores. Absolutely I down load all my PDFs from the source, like Army Surplus Store. Walking is free and fun. Just taking care of the animals is over 10,000 steps. So many things we can do to stay in shape.
Another informative video on saving money in preps...so many just say to stock up and with inflation (really recession) any information on what makes it easier helps people. 👍
salt and sugar is definitely a good thing to store just as much as rice and beans you should have more than what they say because salt and sugar is what you use to store meat without a fridge and without being able to dehydrate or smoke and you can smoke it afterwards to add more flavor and also before the industrial revolution salt can be worth more than gold you had to have it to live for your storing of your food I know a lot of channels and stuff say 4 lb of salt per person but truthfully 50 lb at minimum because if it hits the fan you can't go to the store and pick up salt or sugar and both have an indefinite shelf life is stored in a dry place and they're both something you can just store in your garage or shed as long as bugs and small mammals can't get to it

That’s why I have a lot of informational books and I write important stuff down in notebooks like friends and family phone numbers, in case my phone isn’t available!
And using an old phone with an SD card, digital books and some of the apps mentioned in this video, stored in a fataday bag, with a solar charger, can be great to have in the event of an EMP
Same as others. I have books and I keep a folder where I keep an inventory of what I have in stock, plus any tips and how to info I come across. I always say u less you actually HD it you don't own it - that includes info!
For those who have cats… the litter container from Walmart (the white plastic one) is a pretty nice storage for water. I bleach & soak them for a day then rinse with hot water. Then fill with cool water & a capful of bleach. After awhile, you’ll get a nice supply of water. These containers are nice & sturdy! Repurpose & reuse!
Just learning to see things through a preparedness lens can be a useful free activity for everyone. Like, what would your escape routes from home look like in various likely emergencies? It's sort of like how military history buffs don't see geographical features, they see chokepoints and sentry positions. The at-home version might be better for kids--how can this thing be repurposed for emergencies? Would the cost/benefit work out short term? Long term? (This is on my mind because I just noticed some spare pvc in my basement--if the power went out, I could turn that into canopy bed scaffolding with the addition of some bungee cords and blankets.)
I'm trying to save enough💲to pickup a pew pew...its more difficult on a fixed income.. I'm thinking perhaps i will settle for a 🏹 quiet for practice and use too ❗✌🏻 bless u and ur family for all the info u share and u r inspiring folks in a really positive manner . 👀 eyes open no fear ❤️
The Gordon scanner is great. I paid for the under $3 price app so that I could have access all around the world. I also use it for the locations of my family. One late nite I turned it on and the dispatcher gave my sister's address and that 2 men with guns were accessing her yard! I hurried up and called her and at that moment, one of the men was trying to turn the handle on her door! She yelled out the police were coming and he let go. The police did stop them. Then one afternoon, I had the scanner on where my nephew lived in Maryland. The ambulance and dispatcher were making fun of him and his gf (she tried to run him over) with disparaging remarks. I can listen to communications when active shootings occur with an alert over a certain number of other scanners tune in. It is a worthwhile police scanner.
Try to find the long (6+ slots) chargers for alkaline batteries. Even tho they don't give full strength as new, they will work an adequate length of time, especially for flashlights, radios, lanterns, etc. They'll stretch your budget for other necessities.
This may be a dumb question, but with the cotton balls and Vaseline, I always wanted to know how to do that. Do you just stick the cotton ball in the Vaseline, or do you heat up the Vaseline and then put the cotton balls in or what?? As I mentioned, may be a dumb question.
Every survival equipment has a down fall. Solar Generators won't work properly if Yellowstone erupted and the sun is darkened out with volcano ash or debris or other ash. If an EMP occurs and all electric and electronic communications is down. Or your gear has been effected by the EMP. Thank you JR for your informational series.
If you want to use a plunger for a camp clothes washer, first drill a few holes in it so when you're plunging the air will pass upwards and the plunger will sink lower with less splash. Much more efficient that way.

Sounds like you need to get a storage unit then or locking chests and cabinets. It also sounds like she does not respect you enough to come to a reasonable middle ground solution. Is she the breadwinner, is it not your house as well? As an aside, this is what gets me with the man cave thing if the man is also happens to be on the mortgage or lease. I don't get it.

@@nogames8982 the red one still works for toilets, but the other one pushes more water, making it easier to unclog the toilet.
