What do you mean by your gonna "bleed the fish?"
What's the difference between a J-hook & a normal fishing hook, or are there different types in general

Hi Mason, these days anytime I am going to keep a fish I believe it before I put it on ice. Basically what that means is you take a knife and cut around the gills hold it in the water and let the blood pump out the fish. This gets all the blood out of the meat and makes the fillet or the meat of the fish a lot cleaner and better tasting.

For hooks yeah, circle hooks are really unique. You might want to google search a image of a circle hook. What’s really cool about them is they always catch the fish in the corner of the mouth and almost would never got hookah fish or like you know when Fish gets hooked way down deep. These hooks always hook them in the corner of the mouth and that’s a lot better for catch release. Also, you don’t set the hook like you normally would. You know like that swinging action when you real down and get the ride up like you normally do. For a circle hook you just apply pressure and start real and I hook will do all the work for you.

AJ hook is basically a standard fishhook. It’s the type of hook that you’ve probably used your whole life. They work of course when the fish bites you gotta wind up and set the hook hard. One of the biggest problems of J hooks, however, is a fish can swallow it and get hooked on the guts. But if they do get hooked really deep and you wanna let the Fish go using this kind of hook, the best thing to do is just cut the line and eventually. At least that way the fish has a chance to live.
