Hello and thank you so much for watching SUMO PRIME TIME. As you know, sumo tournament is in recess right now but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to see in Japan’s sumo town: Ryogoku. Tomozuna Oyakata who’s former Sekiwake Kaisei was kind enough to tag along with me for another fun stroll of the town. There are so many sumo stables in Ryogoku, so suddenly walking into one of them is always a pleasure and a treat. You can never learn enough about this sport because of its long history and rich tradition. Finding out the site of the old sumo venue is interesting and visiting a temple which is deeply connected to sumo is always enlightening. And of course, finishing the stroll with wonderful sumo cuisine makes the tour second to none. Please have fun watching the show and it’d be great if you can visit some of the places we checked out in this clip. Arigato always!! Now, we’d like to thank you for all the support we’ve been receiving for the past 12 months to make this channel popular and successful. Thanks to you, SUMO PRIME TIME has now entered its second year from this month and we’d like to use this opportunity to get together with our viewers on a live streaming show to express our appreciation. We’re looking forward to meeting you all, so please join me Hiro Morita to chat about the sport we love. I’d like to interact with you as much as possible during the show, so we hope you send us your opinions, questions and suggestions. I can’t wait because it’s going to be a lot of fun! Here’s the schedule for the upcoming live streaming show “SUMO TALK WITH HIRO”. SUMO PRIME TIME Live streaming show “SUMO TALK WITH HIRO!!” Monday, August 21 10:00 AM Japan Time 1:00 AM UTC (Duration: 45 minutes) We hope you join us for another fun get-together!!
I hope these videos of Hiro and Kaisei become a regular feature, I love seeing them wandering around Ryogoku just having fun and looking at sumo stuff.
Grande Ricardo Sugano, our big brazilian Kaisei. Que sua jornada como Oyakata ainda traga muitos frutos pro Sumo. Hopefully Hiro bring some more of Kaisei on those videos. Thanks for the video.
Kaisei is such a nice guy! I'm glad to see he is doing fine as Oyakata, him and Hiro are a great duo! Um grande abraço de um fã Brasileiro, você é um orgulho para nossa nação! ❤🔰🙏
There's a lot of similarities between Kaisei and Tochinoshin. Two great Rikishi who could've done bigger and better things had their bodies held out. - Very happy to see Kaisei fit and well in his post-sumo career. Personally though it's rather sad as I first got into sumo around 15 years ago and now all those amazing young up-and-coming Rikishi I used to love watching are coming to the end of their careers. - New favourites for sure (Hoshoryu is a Yoko in waiting and I called this 3 years ago), but still, I'll miss watching these guys.
We are witnessing a change of generation. All my favourites are now oyakatas and even if i feel a Little sad, the future Will give us new pepole to cheer on
@@luciagianquitto4010 I know what you mean. Crazy to see that Aoiyama, and Tamawashi are last of the old guard, and still standing!!! However the future already gave us Hokuseiho, Hakuoho, GOLDEN BOY! etc. The future is bright ❤
Kaisei, as a brazilian e who loves sumo, is very great to have you representing our nation!!!! As a lover of japonese culture, I'm proud to have a great sumo fighter honoring japonese culture and sumo! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I love Kaisei, I wish i got into sumo alot sooner but im glad I found this sport this past year, as an american I've always thought it more of a joke and i regret that. I was very mistaken. Im looking forward to visiting japan soon with my sons. now on friday nights we watch old sumo matches. Very tough sport
Its always fascinating to see a new Sumo Prime Time. The inside look into some of the history, the monuments and even the culture of sumo and sumo fandom. For those of us who live outside Japan, thanks for the glimpse. Always looking forward to the next one.
Always sad when a rikishi retires but really great to see them afterwards. That being said a lot of good young rikishi are coming up and sumo will be just as exiting in the future. Continue the good work Hiro.
Kaisei was one of the humblest and most caring rikishi ever. He never pushed more than necessary, he always waited for his opponent to return to the dojo. I didn't like his style but you couldn't really dislike him.
2 weeks ago I wasn't even into sumo, then I watched a random sumo video that somehow ended up on my feed by Sumo Prime Time. Now I can't stop watching anything to do with sumo, it looks unbelievably fascinating. Thanks Hiro-san, Sumo Prime Time and the UA-cam algorithm, I needed this!
What an amazing story. Venturing overseas to start a new journey, found his path in Sumo, and carved his way through the culture to become one of the best of his time.
Kaisei is so great on camera, love watching him, looking forward to Part 3! I visited Ryogoku from the UK this year, and visited the places from the Part 1 video which was a lot of fun.
I miss seeing Kaisei in the ring. I'm glad he is now a coach. And the oyakata was funny. Is a sense of humor a prerequisite for rikishi? The stable masters and coaches always make me smile. And I love these mini road trips with Hiro and Tomozuna. More please!
Thank you so much, Hiro & Tomozuna Oyakata!!! 🤩🤩🤩 You guys do great, introducing the Sumo Town, Ryogoku!! Love this series. I'm marking the places you talked about for when I finally can visit Tokyo!!! I can't wait! 😆😆😆
That’s cool that they have the marking where the old dohyo was. In Arkansas we have a town where MLB teams used to participate in spring trading baseball. People like Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Lou Gehrig. The old ball park is now a parking lot. But they put the home plate where it would have originally been.
I always dubbed Kaisei as “Gentleman Kaisei” because he was the first of the rikishi who continuously offered a hand to pick up fallen opponents or held them from falling off. Now you see rikishi of any rank being as helpful as he was, save for the ones who are at the top or were gone during that build up.
Thanks to moto-Kaisei and Hiro for showing us around! Definitely looking forward to a Part 3. I'll have to make time when I'm in Tokyo next to visiti Ekoin. The sumo photo museum looks interesting as well!
Tomozuna Oyakata has definitely got a great personality for media, I hope he and Hiro work together regularly after his ceremony in October! Also adding basically everything they saw to my next Japan trip! Great piece, Hiro ほんとうに楽しかった :)
They say Sumo is the Grandfather of Brazil JiuJitsu. Helio Gracie was trained Judo by Masahiko Kimura. There has always been a strong link between Brazil and Japan.
Its so great to see the humble nature of these giants who hold and exhibit so much power in the sport. Sumo Prime Time is a great platform to bring this to the greater public this thank you so much. Best wishes from Australia.

Agree, should be a weekly show.
Kaisei!!!
The dynamic/energy between the two is just too good! We must see more of them!
@@plurplursen7172 Hear! Hear! I'd chip in for that! $
they're so cute
I miss seeing Kaisei in the ring. He seems like a genuinely humble yet humorous human being. I would bet that he’s become a great teacher.
Oyakata Tomozuna is so dang wholesome it hurts. I love everything about this vid. And Kaio? "Have fun, promote the city" love him.
They both look great
one of the greatest ozeki ever
Kaisei and Kaio seem very suited in temperament. ❤ both.
Grande Ricardo Sugano, our big brazilian Kaisei. Que sua jornada como Oyakata ainda traga muitos frutos pro Sumo. Hopefully Hiro bring some more of Kaisei on those videos. Thanks for the video.
Kaisei was the greatest gentleman in sumo. I miss him dearly already. What a nice guy! I wish him nothing less than the best for his future.
Kaisei is such a nice guy! I'm glad to see he is doing fine as Oyakata, him and Hiro are a great duo!

Kaisei is so warm. He's willinog to do all these fun eyecatches with Hiro that other rikishi would be too reserved to do

Every wrestler seems so intimidating in the ring, and outside of it they all seem like great personalities!
Tão legar ver o Kaisei agora como Tomozuna atraindo mais fãs estrangeiros pra Ryogoku, amazing video Hiro, love from Brazil ❤❤
Kaisei has a great camera presence. He looks to the audience at times, too. He knows how to work that camera!
The gentleman’s gentleman. Believe he probably has the Association record for most assists in helping his opponents up, post-match.
I really like how Tomozuna show respect before entering the monument Chikarazuka
Gosh, how can you not love Kaisei!? He displayed so much sportsmanship when he was an active rikishi. Hope he becomes a regular! Thanks, Hiro!
Its good to see a brazilian rikishi acomplish so many things in sumo. Huge hug from Brazil!
Even as a 'Murrican, trust me, WE ALL LOVE KAISEI! Dude was way talented for the sport, and a gentle giant. Stay Strong! 💪
@@Ric_Viciousgot to say that Kaisei's "Gentle Giant" is the most fitting nickname in all of sumo. How could one not love this dude?
É muito legal ver ele aí representando o Brasil de certa forma
Tomozuna Kaisei our hero, I really liked the video, a big hug from Brazil to you.👏👏👏
What a treat to see Kaisei in a more relaxed and fun mood. Wishing him good fortune in his coaching career.
Always loved Kaisei. A real gentleman.
Waiting for part 3,4,5,6... I hope Hiro and Kaisei will do alot more together, especially interview Tomazuna after his danpatsu-shiki.

This is my opinion exactly.
You can't get too much of the former Kaisei on this channel. He's great.

I really appreciate this kind of video. I'm a sumo fan and enjoy watching but I always like to hear more about the history of the sport as well.
Have to say Kaisei is a great addition to Sumo Prime Time! Very enjoyable duo and hope to see more adventures in the future!

Would like to see more in the area. Would like to see more with you and Kaisei 😊
Great video as usual ! What a nice way to close the video : "I will let future decide of my dreams" I love it ❤
