He was bullied by some people, but had a lot of friends. In high school there was a few more black students. There was maybe four black students in my high school. It was a big school. There was a lot of racism in my school and bigotry. They fired an art teacher for being gay. I saw people get bullied that where other races. When I was a teen, someone told me that it was a sin the marry outside of one's race. I search the Bible to find out if they were telling me the truth but found nothing in the Bible that said that it was a sin. When I asked my parents, they told me that I could not find it in the Bible because it was not there.

"Why go to an area where you're not welcomed"
Well, their ancestors were brought over in-chains, then after slavery was abolished, various laws were passed disenfranchising and criminalizing former slaves, largely to keep them from leaving and remaining a cheap source of labor (see "sharecropping").
Forsyth, like other towns in the deep south, thus had black communities until the early 20th century (see Second Incarnation of the KKK) and were forced out.
But why go to an area where you're not welcome? Last I checked, this was the United States and we welcome all or at least that's what we're taught. All are supposed to be free. If people are confined to throw-away areas, on basis of skin tone, then are we living in freedom or a prison?

Having ready history, I understand just how ridiculous the Liberian fiasco was from the onset.

Redlining is something that happens to black people nationally and hasn't stopped.
"Even my father in the 1970's was discrminated against when he would visit Sun Down Towns. They wouldn't serve him or were hostile to him."
Uh-huh, yeah, black folks were LYNCHED routinely in sundown towns. If you were black in Forsyth county in the 80s after sundown, you could look forward to being beaten or murdered, but good show trying to the MINOR prejudices to the lethal and often codified abuses toward black people.
"Something that is unique to Italian American discrimiatinon... Just for being labled enemies of the state."
FALSE. Poles, Hungarians, Germans, Irish etc. faced the same nativist horseshit, especially during the Red Scare. As per union workers. sorry, not a distinctly Italian thing. Neither is Catholicism for that matter. Just to be certain, the nuttier fundy TRASH down South have a long-standing hatred toward Catholics, no matter their origin.
"Empathy for a racist past goes both ways. You want me to be empathetic, then be empathetic to me. It's fair"
No one asked you for empathy, idiot. This video is documentation of a modern example of savagery in Metro-Atlanta against black people. Here you are trying to paint yourself as somehow equally oppressed. You're full of shit. Fuck you.

The Klan was out pretty deep. No problems with them though. Rather some of the towns folk were the problem. However, I do remember thinking that the Klan was much better behaved than many racist police officers up north here, and actually more tolerable than many of my colleagues in medicine, whose assaults are far more sophisticated and psychological.
