Remember that episode where Redlettermedia did the best of the worst and the movie in the middle was so crazy that the film that came after it just couldn't compete? I feel like the Life is Strange play through that was done in between Dustborn has changed the way I feel about Dustborn. Like Dustborn is bad, but I don't feel like I got completely conned, like Dustborn was misguided about its mission statement whereas Life is Strange knew from the outset that it was intended to be lazy and manipulative.
Dustborn is funny and Life is Strange isn't anymore it's just stale and disappointing. Would take cancel culture superpowers over whatever the fuck was in that game.
It could either be the Robot in the Family episode or the Ryan’s Babe episode of Best of the Worst. I believe they even reference one of the episodes in the other because it happened twice.
i like how this ends with the main character just being a pregnant woman in a relationship with a man. like it kinda defeats the whole point of non-conformist individualism that the game is attempting to make.
obviously someone can still be supportive of alternative lifestyles while choosing to live their own life in a way that perpetuates the status quo, but i doubt the game makes it clear that was what they intended to say.
personally i think dustborn is a secret satire that parodies games like life is strange in which case this is some pretty good commentary on performative activism
I think C-T’s death may be the most pathetic attempt at the “I’m going to sacrifice myself to save you” cliche I’ve ever seen. Like, did they just not see the train? Not only could they have easily just backed off in the second they had, if they’d just pulled the main character up onto their side (which would’ve been easier anyway) they would’ve been fine. So much contrived stuff had to happen to get that to happen and it still doesn’t make sense
I don't know, Life is Strange feels more soulless to me than this, because Dustborn at least made a real effort to accomplish... something, but Dustborn is executed so poorly to a point where I don't know if LiS soulessness is comparatively worse than Dustborn's incompetence. Laziness vs incompetence, basically.
It still baffles me that this game, at least judging from that one interview I saw with the creators, seems to be genuine, while at the same time it looks like the most obvious satire of "woke" made by its most fervent critics. It's the perfect example of funny bad. Though that big boss monster dropping in about at the halfway point of the video had a genuinely pretty damn cool design. Adum saying "would" I feel validates my feelings on the subject.
I like how they let you move forward even if you have zero participation in those music segments, yet the game won't even let you progress unless you engage with their stupid fake prompt button presses at the end. It's definitely a feature of a lot of games that I'm starting to really hate. Even the recent LiS had it too.
I'll say it again. The game had good ideas on paper, but was so god damn poorly executed. Which is a shame, because Ragnar Tørnquist has done some really nice stories in the past. Like "The Longest Journey", which I'd say is one of the best point and click games ever made. Sadly this game went the same way as The Secret World. Good ideas, poor execution.
No fucking way, he was behind The Longest Journey? I LOVED that game! Now I'm sad, such a disappointment. But I have to say, I can't really even say I can see any good ideas in this. Their heart seems to be in the right place, but even the message is... confused at best, and I can see little ideas in both story and gameplay that's the basis for anything really interesting.
It looks like choices and interactions with the characters do change the ending because I saw a different play through with different results for the characters.
I'm lost, too. Who's the dude at the end? Had to look it up 'cause I didn't want to watch it again. It's some guy named Jacob and I guess he poked her.
@@BwooHuraca yeah hes the dude that shows up in her flashbacks to when shes was being tested, he worked at the facility. i dont remember if it showed up in the yms plays videos but he was in the full playthrough adum did on the other channel

Do you recall which red letter media episode was it? Got curious about the movie

@@Aegis_7VII I absolutely agree, Dustborn is way more funny bad, whereas the new Life is Strange is just sad bad.
18:51 The divine laughter from an angel amongst mere mortals, Rich Evans.
Excellent catch, I missed that at first. Props to editor.

In a way, even it's unintentional, that is pretty good commentary.

To be fair that is one of three endings, but it's still hilarious.
8:28
"Better hurry, show's ALmost over."
the enunciation in that sentence is from hell.
show's Al-most over. show's al-most over. im dying
First take best take
These characters are so accepting of everyone! Then they see the final enemy “whoa that’s a creepy looking kid!”
Sorry Hi-Fi Rush, you were just too competently made.
That gilbert impression was spot on
The whole miserable journey was worth it for that
This is what this game was made for. This is the true way to experience it.
Also those epilogue illustrations were actually good. That might be where all the money went.
Robot saw how Picolo protected Gohan and said, "hold my beer."
im definitely like "LIS 1 > Dustborn > every LIS sequel"even tho the only reason I give LIS 1 a pass is mostly because its the first game
I like some of the things they do with the art direction.
24:01 That has to be the first time they’ve animated an actual facial expression.

At the very least Life is Strange had one final consequence of your choices.
wow this was hella bad. but not oofa doofa bad.

Leaves Nova Scotia and heads east? Into the Ocean or to Newfoundland?
@15:08 the robot could have just I dont know... Pulled you up???? Your head was the only thing on the tracks right? They had to make it dramatic. XD
😂 Robo-Dog like from Robocop (2014) 😂
This is like if a Suda51 game wasn't fun.
They really made the black woman a baby mama. This is suppose to be some kind of progressive game, right?
9:20 JOOOOOOOOON!!!
I can kind of make out a mustache 5 o clock on adum. Very hot. I would love to see facial hair on horsee
Maybe that guy was saying his father WAS into horses because his father was Mr Hands and he is now dead because of his love of horses

lol loved the gilbert impression 11/10
Choices matter
The only thing i like about this are the robot designs
It sucks that a game with such competent artwork got stuck with such crappy writing.
It looks like choices and interactions with the characters do change the ending because I saw a different play through with different results for the characters.
24:28 would you want the creep old person trop than?
i wasn't paying attention, how did the lesbian get pregnant again?
I'm lost, too. Who's the dude at the end?

Sai Ableman?
A Serious Drummer?
Shoot neighbor, why UA-cam be giving a notification 3 hours late
14:27 saw that coming. Based? Based.
This is the bad ending?
With the alopecia, wouldn't she be more of a cow?
what is a videogame even?
