I agree with the other commenter - I wish I had seen this video first. The foot pressure shift; sliding practice, and timing clue (feet, then kite) seem key. I have been struggling with the timing and will try this approach.

Fantastic, if you board slide 180° you’ll have toe side down too

Thank for video. I have been trying to find a guide on how to smoothly move to a carving turn for the last week now. wh ish this had more video and instruction and video on the kite changes as you bring it across to the other side/direction. Before learning toes side carving turns.

This video adds something to all of the others and covers what I have struggled with while making my first turns. Way to go and thanks. Curious to know what is the wind in your area January through March, e.g., kiteboardable days per month.

We a very happy to know that our videos are helping you! January and February have many good but frigid days on the water. March and April are primetime for for kiting in the St. Pete area. Hope to see you out here!

“After a couple of hours of lessons you’re ready to start with transitions …”! What TF is wrong with me, it took me literally 16hours of lessons to get the water start. That’s 6x2 hour group lessons plus two private 2 hour lessons.

And I learned this method of transition you’re mentioning here by accident. All the other videos say send the kiteslowly up to 12 as you change direction, well that makes you sink mostly !

There are so many ways to learn.
Remember a transition could be just a controlled stop, switch directions and go the other way. Most people are fixated on riding… which is cool… but a controller stops with sometimes micro rides, will create repetition. Stop going for the post card kind ride. Start going for the shortest ride you can manage without a yard sale.
Yard sale… equals… to long of a ride.
