What’s marvellous.. is they look like ordinary folk.. not tanned and toned to the hilt..and about to walk down a catwalk.. so lovely it’s such an indulgence ❤
Not really. Elsie was a vain woman who tried to look younger than she was. We're not told a lot about Linda, but she looks believably like a woman in her mid 40s.
So UNFAIR Derdrie?!? YOU did it. You had NO problem running Ray through the mud when he did it. He was sorry just like you were but you would NOT forgive him. You still talk about him like a dog. You split up your family because you thought it was so unforgivable. Strange that when it’s YOU doing it, you want opposite treatment from what you gave to Ray. Totally opposite. Get over yourself
@@Self-Deport Deirdre grew up, she was 21/22 when she and Ray split up, but she became much more interesting over the years. Early on, the poor woman ended up being married to Ken, a boring egoistic man who knew better than everyone. The big 'intellectual' fish in a small pond of Sun/Star reading semi literates - in his mind anyway. Some characters didn't take any crap from him, and on their terms. The guy who played him must have been the best actor in this, and the actors who played Mike Baldwin and Billy Walker were exceptional too.
Me, too. That high-pitched whisper drives me insane. And she’s so unpleasant looking. I’m not a fan of OurBrian, but I’d kill Gail if I was stuck with her.
Bill was a totally different character. Less stubborn and more reasonable…being a single dad he obviously had to learn patience. Some characters just couldn’t be replaced: Len, Elsie and Bet Lynch spring to mind
The Original plan by the producers was to make Bill Webster and Linda a couple, but they found out, that she had no charisma like Pat Phoenix had. BTW, the Creator of Corrie, actually regretted the casting of Dennis Tanner, he thought the actor who played him was 'too camp' - and regrets not giving the role to Kenneth Farrington instead. BTW, I love the way Billy is creeping around Emily AFTER finding out about her money LOL.
I like the Websters. They come across as a real family. It's amazing that Bill takes over the essential role of Len Fairclough--the builder and alpha male--yet he's a completely different character.
Would u be able to upload the missing episode to another site like dailymotion or vimeo if the episode is blocked on UA-cam? That is if u still have the episodes
40:27 "him and his flamin' kids!" us men just can't win can we?😂 That Linda is a rotten character, inside and out. I can't imagine any man being possessive of her, more like you would hear the champagne corks popping when she pissed off! Curly Watts "he's just a bin man." Ken Barlow, man of the people. It's funny seeing Kevin's old man and his sister as original characters. I only know them as a character who first appeared in the 2000's and the sister as someone who was in it recently. She might still be. I haven't watched it in about maybe 15 years.
Amazing the diet on Corrie. All meat, pastry, bacon, egg and chips. You never see any form of vegetable on their plates unless its limp ham/tuna salad. Of course there is the fish from the chippy with peas. I guess there's the veggy.😊
why is Rita saying she heard Bill was buying Elsies house and she said she heard it in the rovers, when the last episode he came in and told her he was buying it
The way poor Linda was looking at Bill Webster as he took a drink of the beer she had poured had me thinking she had spiked it, probably with Benylin 😂 1:43:55
It feels somehow like the soul has been sucked out of Corrie, after the loss of Elsie, Stan, Bert, Uncle Albert, Len and Eddie. And the void is definitely NOT filled by the Websters or Terry Duckworth.
If the writers are going make a story about house sale complications, they should make it clear that Bill is away with the fairies, and hasn't got a clue about the legal realities; he thinks the vacant possession completion is dependent on the goodwill of the seller and the present occupant, rather than the binding obligations of a contract.
7:32 Very brave fella, to take Mavis for driving lessons. Hopefully he has duel controls? 34:37 Go on Curly, show her the length of your telescope. For gawd's sake. Why does Ken Barlow have to sound so nasal. 1:08:58 Never, ever release the keys to a vehicle, until customer paid in full Bryan.
Elsie's daughter is awful. No charisma, not likeable and a poor script. Tedious. All Linda had to do was speak to Alf and whinge and whine about her predicament and put on the crocodile tears, and he could put in a good word with his council cronies to get her a council place. Job done! Adios Linda!

Thanks for all your hard work Professional Guns 66. I'm really enjoying all these episodes.
You did a fantastic job thanks so much.
Thank you for your efforts. I've so much enjoyed watching these shows.
Thank so much ❤😊

When Coronation Street was still a great Street
to explore when you watch it unlike it is now.
It's lovely the way Emily is like a mum to Curly.
The writers turned Billy into a devious, unpleasant character. No wonder the actor left by the end of the year.
THE WRITERS ✍️ TURNED BILLY INTO A DEVIOUS, UNPLEASANT CHARACTER. NO WONDER 💭 THE ACTOR LEFT BY THE END OF THE YEAR GLORY SENGO.
Yes, I thought the same thing.
Elsie's daughter looks older than Elsie
Not really. Elsie was a vain woman who tried to look younger than she was. We're not told a lot about Linda, but she looks believably like a woman in her mid 40s.
Agreed.
She’s a miserable hausfrau.
At this point The street was still settling down after probably the biggest upheaval of cast changes in the previous 12 months.

Kevin is such a pratt.
Terry “I saw a flying saucer last night-mind you, there were a flying cup with it. Me mum slung it at me dad.” 😅😅😅
He’s so buff! 💪🏻 I hope there are scenes where he actually does flex his biceps lol 🤤😍😍😂
Man Jack was really awful in these day's. No wonder Terry turned out bad. Terry was really lovely back now
Billy Walker was a character that came and went
when ever he needed money.
Sad this actor died of cancer
Anne Cunningham was a good choice to play Linda ( except that, by this point, she looked too similar in age to Elsie.)
Yea, I thought either Elsie aged really well, or Linda had a really rough life.
Pat Phoenix was a good looking woman, but she did have a face lift.
Good that they used the original actress who played Linda. In reality, actress Anne Cunningham was only Pat Phoenix's junior by 11 years.
I thought that as well
Jack driving a public service vehicle whilst spending his life boozing in the rovers
Seeing inside number 11 makes me miss Elsie. I want to see her in there, not Linda, and CERTAINLY not the ghastly Bill Webster.
Elsie had passed over by now.god bless Elsie.you were a real star
@@paullynton-green6570 Pat Phoenix died in September 1986, so she was still alive during this period.
Omg Me too,I saw that table, and green cupboards and teared up, I loved her ❤️❤️❤️rip
I know, the actor who played Bill was always fluffing his lines, just like Pat Phoenix.....maybe it's a Number 11 thing.
@@traciegullis6861that’s bullshit. She acted just fine.
Ivy dosent suit that awful Wig😊
Awful wig ! It looks like a helmet.
She's had some corkers over the years.
I wonder why she wore wigs? What was wrong with her own hair? 🤷🏻♀️
Sorry but everytime Gail appears chirping i have to fast forward.
She's wretched.
No need to apologize!
The whole Tilsley clan are scenes I've skipped pretty much since they arrived. I skip most of Mavis and Rita together too.
I feel the same about Mavis. Her budgie Harriet is much more likeable and interesting.
Me, too. That high-pitched whisper drives me insane. And she’s so unpleasant looking. I’m not a fan of OurBrian, but I’d kill Gail if I was stuck with her.
You can't replace Len with Bill Webster, it doesn't work for me, and his daughter is really irritating.
Len was a completely different character/person. You can't compare the 2. A new family into the street, young loud teens.
I agree...daughter is irritating!
Bill was a totally different character. Less stubborn and more reasonable…being a single dad he obviously had to learn patience. Some characters just couldn’t be replaced: Len, Elsie and Bet Lynch spring to mind
Bill is handsome, funny, and bitter. He’s a great character. Len was a creepy self-absorbed asshole like his annoying wife, Rita.
The Websters are revolting ...

Too right… Linda was as stiff as a wooden plank compared to Elsie…
1:47:07 You can see how scared Linda is. The only life she's ever known, the only life she's come back to, is coming to an end. Good acting.
Norman really doing scf fi style okay we never know Mavis scary her knickers 😅 35:02 Rita nice one 😅😅😅😅😅😅 like chandler' and joey 😅😅😅😅😅 SU garden
Ken Borelow on Curly Watts:
"When all is said and done he's a binman..."
What a bellend...
A gigantic one.
Ken was a bit of a snob, but that's okay. Everyone has a weak spot.
I hate Ken.
Jack and Vera, on my nerves a bit when they moved into the street, but then later their characters developed
Thank God Mavis showed that bill to Rita. Jack D is a right arse trying to pull that shit😮
Who would Linda remember from before. Ken, Emily, Bet (apparently), Betty, the Ogdens and Billy. Surprised she never asked after Albert...
She doesn't strike me as someone who would really care much.
She knew about Albert i remember telling her when i sent her a letter
I wouldn't have thought she knew Bet or Betty.
Bet introduced herself to Linda last month (May '84).
I still cant believe Billy Walker was also Tom King in Emmerdale in around 2007
That role was much better suited for him!
Wow Elsie’s daughters a right cow isn’t she

Elsie's daughter is the type of woman that brings nothing but trouble.
She looks more like a grandma than Elsie ever did.
Some of these new actors... like fingernails on chalkboards. The regular cast are such natural actors... bad actors stick out like a sore thumb.

Was Debbie Webster in "Dinner Ladies?"
Yes
Yes - i guess her dream of being a hairdresser went pair shaped
Sally reminds me of viv windsor from emmerdale
