They even wanted to remove every mention of Punjab in the film. But there was so much industry and audience backlash and support for the film. Eventually it won its motion in appellate court and got released. But sadly, it got leaked online a few days prior to its release... but the movie was so strong that people stood in support anyways to make it a success.
