I owned a Honda 70 Cub in the 1970s. It was a great commuter bike provided you don't need to go on the Interstate. I think 47 mph was the best I ever saw, downhill. But it got the job done until I could afford a 1975 Honda CB 550 Four. I should have never sold that bike.
Ive got about 30 of these bikes 10 of which are c100 a c65y c50s few 70s and half a dozen 90s
We have a " '67 " 50cc and a '70 70cc RTR/together..then a couple 55t and a Hobbit being transformed into an e-bike...be well Honda nerds❤
I have a 72 c70 and have to toe to toe shift too!
waiting for the day you guys get to try our dirt-cheap middle class 110-125cc underbones from the asean space, all of them deriving from the cub in a way, can still find some of them here, a little rare, like the successors, most of the time in terrible condition ((mostly the cub) analog stopped functioning, side mirrors blown off, cover is gone revealing the skeleton) but still ran somehow, god knows what they've been through, top speed just a little over 100 kmh at most 120kmh, but i've heard experiences of one model getting 80 kmpl.
How did you ever find one of these old ones here in the US? I've been looking for a couple years. Great bike! I have a '22 Super Cub (also an 1800cc Goldwing and six others in between) and my tiny Super Cub is still one of the most fun to ride. Funny how the 125cc gets me 130 mpg - significantly better than the 50cc. More videos please!
I got it on craigslist 12 years ago…. All I knew was that I wanted a Cub or Passport… and this just happened to be a reasonable driving distance away… but i didn’t know much about how each model was different other than engine size and thought it was odd that it didn’t come with turn signals. But I’m glad that didn’t dissuade me from buying it!

your problem is that the footpeg is bent. try straightening it and giving it another go.
Actually both my foot pegs bend upwards, at some point I’m going to try bend them straight or get a replacement. Might have been a purposeful choice for riding off road, I’ve seen some like that in pictures… now that I know I don’t like it, but for 10 years I just assumed that’s the way it was made.
