Great reaction. The last verse of take your mask off is about him. Listen to what his mother said you don’t have to lie to kick it shoutout to Kendrick again. Also he saying the things ppl told him in his career beats ain’t slapping and trying to sell those weird clothes nobody is buying that. Lefleur and converse.
Idgaf what no one says, LeFleur is Dope af...there hasn't been a rapper's clothing line that's TOP TIER since Billionaires Boys Club...that's the reason Pharrell convinced Louis Vuitton to make Tyler the Executive Designer for this year
Tyler said that he was a serious artist… who was goofy, but people only recognized him for his goofiness. He then stopped the literal Ridiculousness to focus on writing and production. He lives this music. I hope that he sees this, and receives the love.
you may not read this, but wolf is essential when it comes to understanding tyler’s entire evolution of character. Wolf is MAINLY revolved around the absence of his father and this was his first vulnerable-open type of album. Listening to Like him as a long time listener was such a punch in the eye and perspective change because his song “Answer” from wolf is about the anger of what his father did to him and his absence affecting his personality. I can only explain it so well, but definitely include wolf in a revisit of his discography. A really Great reaction from you guys.🎉
1:05:00 He is 100% talking about himself. The part where he talks about selling the clothes and his fans not being racked enough is about Golf le Fluer. When he talks about ruining a marriage he is talking about CMIYGL; specifically, the girl he likes in that he mentions throughout the album is already with one of his friends. Tyler is taking his mask off to us
I was coming to say this. I thought it was so interesting for him to go through that entire song telling others to take their masks off & then does it himself. He could've just left it at other people, but the entire album theme is taking all of our masks off. So dope.
Tyler’s last few albums have been phenomenal. I’m so happy. Everyone should check out RM’s RPWP too if you want bold production with versatility. He’s one of the biggest Korean rappers and it’s critically acclaimed and considered for a top album of the year. 💜 Hip hop heads shouldn’t sleep on the international bangers too, especially if you want musicality. Just have the lyrics pulled up for the non-English parts and you’re good to go. His overall theme and message is very introspective and about being content with one’s self despite the doubts and imposter syndrome one may experience. It’s just dope in general. Much like Tyler, he has all the freedom to drop something lazy since he’s technically from the biggest group in the world (bts) but chose passion over radio hits. P.S., 43:27 , this is not said by Tyler or anyone, but there is a German photographer who has a series of Nigerian hair fashion (and other parts of Africa) from the 60s that are black and white and high contrast and emphasize wild 4c styles, they instantly came to mind when I saw this concept design for Tyler. Makes me wonder if he also was inspired by them or is aware of them (probably is). “Noid” for sure put me in that mindset of 60s garage rock era Africa too.
agreed, aside from my fan perspective RPWP is phenomenal. It’s unfortunate people judge by the artist rather than giving it a listen first. I wasn’t big on some of the tracks at first but after another listen it grew on me both the production and lyrics really stuck with me. I keep looking for a similar sound but there’s really nothing like it. Very unique, very well done.
I had never gotten into Tyler's music before. I generally like how he speaks about music (and his vast knowledge), so he def has a new fan in me. Love hearing Daniel Caesar too
i thought the same man. From acting, talking about wife’s, and hiding true identities, i fully thought it was to drake. Plus tyler’s connections to Kenny and the way he sounds like him too on certain rhyme patterns it’s just crazy. But yeh it’s obviously about himself but i like to think it towards drake 😂😂
Judge Judy is way more sad than you think. This 3 lines really broke me: "this past year have been rough. It spreaded to my head" "I wasn't living right until they told me what was left"😢. So basically this song is about a girl who had cancer and find out about it too late. The line in the beginning is just a cherry on top "sorry I haven't been communicating much".
Definitely talking to himself where he talks about flowers from flower boy album where he says shit weighs a ton water your garden. Also in the same song he talked about his hair follicles were thinning. Where this flower blooms is the reference song
i don’t understand how literally EVERY reaction i’ve seen of take your mask off people think he’s dissing…. he painted such a vivid picture and the message still flew over heads, the last verse was about himself, it would make NO sense at all for this man to be dissing drake let alone have an entire verse dedicated to the man😩
@ im a very avid fan of his so not to be tht guy but yes, the buildup and first two verses kind of had me expecting it, but not at all am i implying that you guys in particular should have gotten it immediately my point was, everyone automatically jumps to “who’s he dissing” or “who’s he talking about” when the message is pretty straightforward and more retrospective than anything, everyone instinctively jumping to “beef”or conflict involving this song is pretty ironic in my opinion, great reaction nonetheless🫡

how do you know its the same person he's talking about? lol
@@sofiantz2142 yeah it could've easily been someone else, he talks about non-monogamy on the album too. And i wonder about that zendaya line
The last verse of Take Your Mask Off is about Tyler. He's speaking about himself after calling out others.
Sounds Amazing in here!
These album listen through reactions are dope! Soul Burger next?

Tyler was rapping like rent was due fr this album

59:19 Perfectly said!

I thought it was about Drake at first because it applies. But his mom said, "Keep it real with yourself" so I think he talking to himself
absolutely abt himself (but it does apply lol)
i thought the same man.
From acting, talking about wife’s, and hiding true identities, i fully thought it was to drake.
