Yeah.iv been homeless of and on for years since my thirties.and I'm forty seven now but your right winter time is what makes it almost unbearable.the summer time it's almost pleasant and even fun to a degree.once you adapt to the lifestyle and routin.
Sadly we have a major problem with the homeless in Washington state. We see a major percentage suffer from either mental illness or drug addiction. Giving them money is great if you want to perpetuate their circumstances as the politicians here do. These folks need help. Giving them money is cruel.

I think technically a river bank. But as you head north on 295 leaving DC, it frequently has that "low tide marsh smell". Kind of like a sewage smell but different.

It's condensation when the warmer inside air vents to the outside colder air. You can see the exact same thing in many cold cities with large buildings that are heated all night. Chances are you'll see a few homeless people sleeping on top of the grades that the warm air is coming through usually with a piece of cardboard underneath of them. Very common along big city downtown sidewalks, when buildings don't have ducting to vent it from the sides or top.
Makes perfect sense. When I was in high school there were two big vents that had maybe 4’ high walls on 3 sides, with the building providing the 4th wall. Over the tops of the vents was heavy grade, steel grates. During the late fall and early winter, smokers would sit on the grates to stay warm. Once the temps dropped, the vents couldn’t warm you as even the air coming up cooled very quickly.

I do HVAC and work with some steam boilers in a large city for large buildings and steam leaks out at the point of a leak or pressure relief valve and it dissipates. IT doesn't hold it's state and travel all over and out of the ground. Once it hits the air temp it where it leaks, it dissipates. There are other sources of news that's reporting on this. One is /was Prepping 101. The other is that dude from the UK. God I forgot his name. IT's been stated the military rescued children in tunnels and the military set the tunnels on fire.

Oh you can see it in plenty of footage, not only in DC, pretty much in every large city that heats large buildings in the winter time. Some have vents on the sides of the building, some have vents on the roof of the building, lots and lots have the vents on the ground built into the sidewalk next to the building. Heaters and boilers tend to be located in the basement of large buildings and skyscrapers and vent out at ground level instead of running ventilation ducting through the building. Cheaper, easier to maintain, avoids creating mold etc. etc.. Check out some old news footage of the Capitol building or the White House for the last few decades, it won't be quite as much footage as currently, pretty much just when news crews are awaiting an important announcement from the White House. This is the first time in history there have been wackos with cameras trained on the buildings 24/7, so that they can spread around propaganda in an attempt to make their country fail. Condensation forms in the air when the warmer air hits the colder air outside, which is why the homeless like to throw a piece of cardboard across the grates and sleep on top of it. Well, they probably don't "like" to do that, but it's better than freezing to death in the middle of the night.

I totally appreciate all your videos. I was in DC as a 4-H student in 1973 at the age of 16. I love your videos as they awaken a bunch of memories of every thing we visited back then . We were there for a full week so saw a lot. I have tried to watch most of your new videos. One question? Who is the compony who supplied all that fencing on such short notice? Yeah.iv been homeless of and on for years since my thirties.and I'm forty seven now but your right winter time is what makes it almost unbearable.the summer time it's almost pleasant and even fun to a degree.once you adapt to the lifestyle and routin.
Sadly we have a major problem with the homeless in Washington state. We see a major percentage suffer from either mental illness or drug addiction. Giving them money is great if you want to perpetuate their circumstances as the politicians here do. These folks need help.

When I worked next to the WH I’d park on the Elipse I’d see homeless people sleeping over the vents that he’s talking about to stay warm. There’s so many homeless people in DC. It’s heartbreaking 😢.

It's condensation when the warmer inside air vents to the outside colder air. You can see the exact same thing in many cold cities with large buildings that are heated all night. Chances are you'll see a few homeless people sleeping on top of the grades that the warm air is coming through usually with a piece of cardboard underneath of them. Very common along big city downtown sidewalks, when buildings don't have ducting to vent it from the sides or top.

Makes perfect sense. When I was in high school there were two big vents that had maybe 4’ high walls on 3 sides, with the building providing the 4th wall. Over the tops of the vents was heavy grade, steel grates. During the late fall and early winter, smokers would sit on the grates to stay warm. Once the temps dropped, the vents couldn’t warm you as even the air coming up cooled very quickly.

I do HVAC and work with some steam boilers in a large city for large buildings and steam leaks out at the point of a leak or pressure relief valve and it dissipates. IT doesn't hold it's state and travel all over and out of the ground. Once it hits the air temp it where it leaks, it dissipates. There are other sources of news that's reporting on this. One is /was Prepping 101. The other is that dude from the UK. God I forgot his name. IT's been stated the military rescued children in tunnels and the military set the tunnels on fire.

Steam only shows itself at the leak at 212 degrees. It doesn't travel far. If you boil water on a stove in a pot...it doesnt fill up the kitchen does it?
They may be getting their Goose cooked...Is it possible to ask them? Many times that's not steam in NYC. it's a mist from the ground cooling from hot summer days from the pavement and it's hitting the cold air above ground level.

yes, STEAM,,, many older cities have them,, esp places where it gets very cold in wintertime, and homeless folks tend to sleep on top of them to stay warm,,, altho since it is moist wet air, it will also freeze them to death if they ever leave those vents

Never saw steam come out when President Trump and First Lady Milania were in the WH.
Oh you can see it in plenty of footage, not only in DC, pretty much in every large city that heats large buildings in the winter time. Some have vents on the sides of the building, some have vents on the roof of the building, lots and lots have the vents on the ground built into the sidewalk next to the building. Heaters and boilers tend to be located in the basement of large buildings and skyscrapers and vent out at ground level instead of running ventilation ducting through the building. Cheaper, easier to maintain, avoids creating mold etc. etc.. Check out some old news footage of the Capitol building or the White House for the last few decades, it won't be quite as much footage as currently, pretty much just when news crews are awaiting an important announcement from the White House. This is the first time in history there have been wackos with cameras trained on the buildings 24/7, so that they can spread around propaganda in an attempt to make their country fail. Condensation forms in the air when the warmer air hits the colder air outside, which is why the homeless like to throw a piece of cardboard across the grates and sleep on top of it. Well, they probably don't "like" to do that, but it's better than freezing to death in the middle of the night.

We were there for a full week so saw a lot. I have tried to watch most of your new videos. One question? Who is the compony who supplied all that fencing on such short notice? It goes on for miles and my thinking is that it was preordered long before it was placed and probably by the queen of the house. ???
I have no idea who/how they found so much fence. The Capitol's fence is 3.2 miles! During the Inauguration there was probably 10 miles of fence. Who keeps that in a warehouse? Where? Why? Kind of nuts.
