Just used this video to guide me through the steering wheel and Clock Spring removal. My coach is a little older than yours, but the process was identical once I got the plastic cover off. Wanted to drop you a quick thank you for posting this video. BTW. . . In case someone is reading this in the future, the two bolts you need for the steering wheel puller are 1/4 x 20. 3 inches long. That's if you have a Douglas AutoTech Steering wheel.
happy it helped you out, that first step of removing the cover took me an hour to get the courage up to just finally try pulling it off. Thanks for telling the bolt sizes needed
Wow ! Thank you very much, I have a 07 American Tradition with the Smart Wheel. I am having Issues with my Low Beam Headlights not turning on. Spartan has indicated that it might be the Clock Spring. Not sure as to how to Trouble shoot this Problem, by any chance did you have similar issues with the Low Beams not coming on?
@bpoassistant thank you, all my controls work on the smart wheel., wipers, headlight and tailight flash, ( only when on high beam) cruise and horn work also. Thank Thank you.
@bpoassistant Does your low beam come on when your air brake is released? On your headlight Truckers Flash ,does it only flash on high beam ? Or both high and low?
Only on high beam. Is that a clockspring problem, or just a steering wheel button contacts problem? Already replaced the Control module. Still have no cruise control, no courtesy flasher, windshield wipers don't work 90% of the time.@@dougd9944
Thanks for the informative video! Just curious what the problem was that had you opt for the new clock spring? On my coach, all of the functions (wiper/lights/etc) went out, but the horn still functioned. Also, when hitting the wiper button, it will intermittently sound the horn. I figure its the clock spring but not certain. Thanks!
our cruise was interment at first then wipers went all the way out, then cruise was all the way out. Horn never stopped working, turns out is was our control module
Very well done I can’t believe there aren’t more comments. I will be passing it along on the Forum.
Thanks for the video we used it to remove the steering and turn one notch so the wheel was straight (crooked after a front alignment)
