This is one of the hardest songs to sing out of the whole of Les Mis. How anyone can sing it without crying is utterly beyond me.
Along with the song being so sad, I had a bird named Eponine whom I started to sing this song to her all the time to calm her down. I first started it when her mate, Marius, passed away. She’s passed away now so this song is especially hard for me not to cry

I cry every time I sing or hear it
its not a hard song for a good actor. its one of those songs, where the actors can really show their acting skills on musical stage, which is actually quite rare. the singing part is easy. the performing part must be strong.
