    HOW TO REQUEST A TRICK:
    1. Find a performance of a trick on UA-cam that you would like to see on my channel, or even film yourself performing the trick and upload it to UA-cam.
    2. Copy that UA-cam link and go to the community page on my channel. (You have to be on a computer to go onto the community page, unfortunately it doesn’t show up on mobile devices)
    3. Comment in the page: (whatever you want to say really... like “please teach this!” Or “I would love it if you revealed this!” Something like that.) Then PASTE the link to the performance in your comment.
    4. Post your comment! And I will for sure look at everyones request! The people's tricks that I like will get a special shoutout and a tutorial for the trick in a future video!

    Sadly, the double life is what discouraged me from continuing with magic years ago. It looked smooth Nd great but I could never keep the two cards together perfectly everytime and that discouraged me. I practiced it for years daily (push off and strike) I'll pick it up and try again. Or maybe magic isn't for me 😄

    What if my cards are too slippery? I found them in my mums cupboard and they're "100% plastic" and they're reeeally slippery and i can't do anything with them. Is it possible to work with cards like these or do you really need special cards?

    Fan in Seoul, Korea -- your videos got me started in card magic this year, thank you for your excellent video as always.
    One suggestion, if I may -- your videos would be even greater if your audio was better.
    Among the card magic video makers, your camera angle, and your very detailed and thoughtful commentary really stand out.
    However, I notice that when I play your clip after a (completely different topic/any usual) clip, I need to turn up the audio volume significantly (around 30%) to listen to your words. Then after your clip ends and it goes to a different clip, the volume is too loud so I need to turn it down. My guess is that your mouth is quite a ways from your microphone so perhaps a collar clip-on wireless microphone would make loyal subscribers like me appreciate your videos even more.

    Justin Miller says that is not a doublelift, it is a double turnover. Because you are not lifting ˋem up. You are turning the double over. How would you respond to Justin Miller?

    • @AMillionCardTricks
      @AMillionCardTricks  5 років тому

      Well I guess that’s technically correct. Because I never really “lift” my double from off of the deck, unless it’s for a specific trick that requires that move. So double turnover is probably the correct way to name it, however the majority of the magic community just simplifies it down to the double lift, as that is a more commonly known name for the move.

    Dai Vernon never liked the double lift that u just taught , bcoz of its unnaturalness , he always said that it makes sense to a lift with ur thumb but not with ur finger........It is known as the stike lift explained in stars of magic , in Dr Daley's section....and according to professor, Dr Daley never liked it , perhaps he hated it after realising ......... What I would suggest is that pick up a card naturally and then study yourself, and see what suits u best .Stuart gordon lift , Ken krenzel lift , professor's double lift , etc (the list goes on and on , including some lifts that I don't know the name of) , All these lifts are somewhat natural , but I will go with Paul Daniels' advice that "it depend on what u r gonna do next"
    ............
    My theory on lifts....
    References: Dai Vernon's revelations vol 2 , stars of magic , card classics of Ken Krenzel .......

      @AMillionCardTricks  5 років тому +1

      In my opinion, the most convincing double lift is the push off double lift (sleightlyobsessed on Instagram has an insanely good one). However that one takes years of practice to master. I agree with the argument that your double needs to match how you would normally pick up cards. So I’ve been trying to pick up cards the way I do the double here. Even if it may look unnatural to some, in my opinion consistency is an important factor to consider.
