It doesn't set well with me. I kind of understand under the Hanna case why the standard is different before and after trial but I also think the prosecution should be punished in some way for their illegal actions. I thought the Hanna verdict was a good one but when a prosecutor gets away with something like that they are motivated to keep doing it. The same argument for punishing criminals applies to prosecutors' as well.
I know, right?! I love that UA-cam can be sped up so easily. Listening to something that’s too slow makes my head explode. I only sometimes have EDB on 1.25, and it’s hilarious when she then speeds up what she’s watching!
Hi Emily, catching up on the replay crew. I'm not surprised that Ms. Gutierrez-Reed didn't receive a new trial or a dismissal. I think what convicted her was the video footage showing carelessness with handling firearms. And the prosecutor convinced the jury that she brought the live ammunition on site although there's still doubt in my mind about that. I must say that I don't think I'd hire Jason Bowles to defend me!
Early on in the video comment: ❤ your coverage choices EDB! The PD stuff is hard to listen to. It needs to be heard, but case coverage is more helpful to me than the press conference stuff.
I enjoy when my favorite youtubers do different stories. I enjoy watching but the same story from 3 or people is meh. I'm glad you are giving variety!!!! ❤
You just convinced me to go ahead and call the school again for a 504 for my adhd high schooler. He’s fine academically now, but I really never thought about the accommodations for testing!
Yes to food court! When you announced quick bits was becoming it's own thing I was hoping you would update over there. Will be hapoy to watch a live stream though.
I have to keep asking myself why I feel sorry for Hannah, even though she WAS negligent and someone died... And I keep getting reminded of how poorly her case was fought by her attorney. 😮
I feel sorry for her because she's a kid and kids do stupid stuff. Fortunately, most of the time, nothing tragic happens as a result, but sometimes it does. 😢
@@kayemm1973I'm not inclined to agree here. Hannah presented herself as a professional. Making sure that firearm was safe was her most crucial task. And instead she fucked around.
@@kiraina25 I would agree if it wasn't for the fact that everyone else on the set was fucking around too. The first AD who was in charge of safety said that he thought it was a safe set. Seeing as there had already been accidental discharges, the people in charge should have already done something to discipline her or fire her before it got to that day. So while at the end of the day it was her responsibility it also feels like she is the fall guy for how negligent everyone was on set.
Hannah knew she was not doing things the way her father trained her, she probably had more hands on knowledge than most armorers starting out. Her father was the most respected armorer in Hollywood for decades and she learnt at his side from a young age and I’m sure safety was high on his agenda to be so trusted by the elite. She was immature and accepted a job knowing she was more interested in fun and fame than safety
@@jfraserfisherI agree but my problem is that the people that hired her and the people in charge of making sure she was doing her job didn't do their job. She should have been fired after the first accidental discharge. And how did they not see how she acted and that she wasn't doing her job? This whole film set bothered me so much. Nobody took safety seriously. And I'm still pissed that Dave Halls got a slap on the wrist. And that's not to even mention Kari Morrisey either not knowing how to do her job or just being so arrogant that she buried evidence. My thoughts are if she did it in Baldwin's case how can they honestly say she didn't do it to Hannah too. To me every case that she prosecuted should be overturned. Because she proved she can't be trusted to do her job.

Because of my astigmatism, dark mode (specifically white text on black) results in a migraine within 2 minutes. It also has the same visual effect of spots in my vision when looking at a bright light.

You guys are so good at adding chapters, it would be easy to skip on the replay.
Haven't searched more about it, but I saw a YT short of a judge eviscerating a county clerk who allowed access to voter records. Not the same kind of clerk but what he said at her sentencing applies to Courthouse Becky. She got NINE years, I think.
I’m not in the US so the Federal court having different rules in each state is really confusing. In my brain it’s a federal court ie. the level above the states and should be the same everywhere. I know each state has different laws and that should be accounted for but each state’s federal court seems so different in each state
I cannot believe that they finished it. But I guess people could argue that the movie The Crow shouldn't have been released too. And I love that movie but I didn't know what happened while filming til it was already one of my favorite movies. So I just don't know.
At 39:00 the court explains very clearly what Andrew Branca gets wrong about the Baldwin dismissal. Branca thinks the standard for Baldwin was "probability of different outcome" and that therefore the court got it wrong.
I wish the judge in Boone case would have said this to the defense. They don’t stat any case law in their motions. It’s like the defense wants the judge to do their work for them. Just lazy attempt at lawyering.
Dumb question shouldn't the fact that Morrisey didn't turn over evidence make the case verdict unfair? No matter if the evidence is pertinent or not. Just the fact that she suppressed anything should be taken into account and it should be overturned and redone. I know it would cost a lot of money but it is about fairness.
