I just wish there were launchers that worked with gesture navigation. There's a delay between swiping home and being able to actually open any app
Call me blind but I don't see it on Nova launcher
That would require root level privileges
Lawnchair can work with a third party gesture handler called "Quickswitch"
Launchers that support Quickswitch have the potential to keep gestures and animations as fluid and perfect as they were prior to their installation.
All these problems started back in android 10 and the arrangements google made to marry gestures to the accompanying system launcher.
If you want to mimic that, you need to get to system level.
@@JstormZx Been rooting my phones since the first one so not a problem and yeah quick switch is the only reason I also use Lawnchair, its the only way I know off to allow us to have the icons on top of the windows in the recent apps menu following the icon pack used on Nova cos Nova unfortunately doesn't have a recent app menu so it uses the stock launcher one and if you happen to have a stock launcher that doesn't support icon packs like that joke of a launcher they call Pixel launcher...
use GESTURE CONTROL.
It's an insane app.
They do since android 14. I immediately noticed on my S23 ultra that when swiping up and holding like normal (not insanely long like the guy in the video - not sure why he was doing that) to get to my open apps it did it immediately and with a similar animation to normal. Pretty sure its like that on my Pixel 8 Pro as well, though I haven't used a launcher on it for a while so I'm not sure
Note: During the editing phase I realized animations are a bit broken on my OnePlus 12R, and portrait orientation for the pixel fold is scaled incorrectly. Otherwise great launcher, let me know your thoughts & thanks for watching! =)

Just tested 14 Beta 2 on my Moto edge 30 Neo. Animations lag and stutter . Disabled it and reverted back to original launcher.

This is the best launcher for me. It has enough additional features. Before I used to eventually go back to stock after trying some 3rd party launchers including Nova Launcher. But the Lawnchair was my primary launcher for years.
Niagara Launcher deserves it own video too. Once you get used to it there's no going back. It even has proper support for foldables!
I'd use it if it weren't so basic
Lawnchair is better because its open source.
This launcher looks fun and smooth.
I wish more launchers supported widget stacks. OneUI does that by default and it's extremely useful.
Do they have quick launch folders yet? Where you can tap to open an app but swipe to open a folder the app is hiding?

Why doesn't it let me toggle the allow notification access . Keeps telling for my protection it isn't available.is there a way to change it ?

How is that you are getting Google feed. I am not. Though the option to show Google feed is ticked on in the settings

Was going to use lawn chair on mybfold 5 right up until you said that it's not worth it onntje fold 5

Nothing phones can do that, they really give good features with Google skin
guys remember it's still in beta. once stable version comes out, i think the bugs are all gonna be solved

this will probably never get an official 'stable' version. the version prior to this v14 never got a stable release. and it's been working great for years, even on android14.

on m pixel 7a .. i have nova .... but ... its been freezing on screens etc etc ,,, I've had it for years ( paid ) .. but it sort of hates the pixel
Smartspacer has so much delay than the actual lawnchair at a glance that's its pretty much unreliable
I've been using Lawnchair for a while, and I'm really impressed with how far it's come. Primarily, I use it on my Galaxy Tablet just to make the home screen experience more similar to my Pixel phone, and I really enjoy it. I might even try switching off of the Pixel Launcher on my phone in the near future, but I'm not sure.
I do hope that one day, it'll update to have better tablet/foldable support, and we'll have a launcher similar to Google's modified launcher for their foldable and tablet.
But for now, I'm pretty happy.

Nice but it's still light-years away from Nova launcher, the only thing better on Lawnchair is that it has its own recent apps menu instead of relying on the stock launcher's one like Nova does wich allow us to have the icon on top of the windows following the same icon pack we use but on the other hand doesn't allow us to have options like selecting pictures or text from those windows
Even so if they copied my favorite option from Nova (the two shortcuts per icon in the home screen) I would seriously consider changing to it cos Nova never fixed that in 10+ years of existence and at least in my interactions with the team they don't seam very open to changes, they found a combo that pleases the common user so they are not moving from there and that's it imo
