    Part 1: • Chris Herren on Settin...
    --------
    In this clip, Chris Herren recounted his first arrest which occurred just after overdosing. He then talked about the ways in which meth was the worst drug he’s taken and how it takes the user down much faster than other hard drugs due to the sleep deprivation. Chris also discussed the work he’s done since being sober as of August 1, 2008.

      I was a junkie for a decade. Same story,started with percs from a car accident which led to a black tar heroin addiction. I’ve been clean from dope for over a decade now. I’ve been to over a dozen rehabs and they didn’t work for me because I honestly didn’t want to quit. You know how it is, you can’t force a junkie to get clean. They are going to have to want it for themselves,that’s the only way it’s going to work. They tried to put me on methadone and subs but I didn’t want to be dependent on just some other opioid. This is what worked for me when I finally got clean and I have not had a relapse or even craved dope. Ibogaine and DMT is what got me clean. From all the people I’ve spoken with that have gone this route the percentage of people that have stayed clean is remarkable. You know that a traditional 12 step program’s success rate is under 10% which isn’t good. The odds are definitely not in our favor. I have friends that have tried to get off subs and the stories I’ve heard are brutal. I’ve heard that the detox can last a month compared to dope being 5-7 days. But I highly recommend going the Ibogaine and DMT Route. It will change your life completely for the better. I don’t know what part of the country you live in but if I were you I would do some research into it. I went to Costa Rica to do it but this was in 2011 and I’ve heard that there are places in the states now that offer this amazing treatment. I even quit smoking cigarettes that same day I quit doing dope. I hope that you get off the subs because it’s just another opioid and why be dependent on something like that. You don’t need it. I wish you the best of luck in your recovery. I once again suggest that you look into it. To me and many others who have gone this route we all recommend it. It’s like a miracle cure. Oh weed also helped me a lot.

    • @tomking7080
      @tomking7080 Рік тому

    • @PerforatedPaperboy
      @PerforatedPaperboy Рік тому

      @@tomking7080 i just snort the K, i have already done DMT probably 50 times before i took any opiates. Also i only used opiates for 4 months but it was the worse withdrawals. The DMT trips ive had have given me the mental fortitude to do anything. Also it opened up a line of communication with God i didnt have before. So really it was god who’s helped me get through this stuff.

    I was high school close to Fresno watching this guy and that loaded Fresno State team every game all our friends would get together for the games. His press conference with Tark hurt to watch!! Him and Courtney Alexander Rafer Ely Terrance Roberson were bigger than life!! When I read he OD in the Fresno Bee it broke me!! Fast forward 20 yrs later the mother of my children got hooked on pills and had to go to rehab, we weren’t together anymore but I supported her through it and she told me they played Chris’s unguarded for them and it was a different feeling in the room after! His life’s calling was something different even though he’s one of the best college hoopers I watched live!!

And that’s what led to his 1 year completion of rehab and to stay sober since. God works never give up.
