It would've taken a far larger population and funding for such sites. There is a lot more lost to history than we know or are allowed to know about the people who built these megalithic structures.
Whawt if the structures instead were meant to protect a mass of people during a micronova, or other natural disaster?
They look just like praying grounds to me a place to go to meditate or pray, these stones/sites help strengthen the meditative state of mind or prayer. Thats what it looks like to me

If druids were going to meditate and pray, I doubt they'd need to build a structure to do so. Esp seeing as nature was their "sanctuary".
