Just love seeing these quick pup rescues…just a few minutes with these ‘intruders’ and their destiny is changed! Such important work by a wonderful organization ❤❤❤
Well spotted and beautifully netted Kat! That puppy was tiny and the cotton string pulled so thin. Thanks Wally and Kat. Naude's pup was having a lot of trouble running due to tripping on the snoek line around her flipper. Thank goodness she's now free to grow big and strong. ☮️❤️🦘🇦🇺
Thankfully that ball of line had only snared the one seal. I don't blame her for being upset...first the entanglement, then the capture in the net...a girl has to maintain her dignity!😉🦭🌊
There's a video of a group in the USA (Washington or Oregon) who were *begging* for volunteers to help, as they were overloaded with strangled seals. I never saw a video of them ever since :-/
Oh we knew this has been going on for years. But 90% can’t do anything about it, as we have absolutely no control over the 10% of selfish scum responsible for doing this.

It is rottten luck both these pups got caught in string and line already when their lives have just begun. Thankfully OCN is there again and always to make it all better. Thank you!
A BIG shout-out to Kat for spotting and netting the 1st pup!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 That single string would have been torture! It must have felt soooo good to be cutting all that nasty snoek line off the 2nd pup. At the end of the day, saving animals must bring such peace to the soul. It certainly restores mine, just by watching these videos. Thank you, Seal Whisperers, for being such exceptional humans!!! 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻❣❣❣💐💐💐

I guess a lot of those pups who do not run but are lying in the sand will never again run into the sea. Must be difficult to witness that so closely, but that's nature.
@GeeKIller Recently watched Netflix documentary "Wild Babies". It's taught there that seals don't really care for orphans, so, if something happened to the mothers, sadly, the babies probably didn't get to grow. But this is just a hunch, I'm no expert (still want to see if they are going to aswer your question).

N&A got a fiesty snoek infested female Antoine puppy!!!! But 😉 lady luck was on her side. A few snips of the infamous cutting tool and away the cutie waddled ☺. A joy to behold, thank you muchly ☆☆☆☆ 👍
I really like to see Kat netting the seals, even tho we don't see it to often. I like it when she or any women is involve in things like this!!!! The one you netted Naude, was really fiesty to be a girl.(she was mad, lol) Thanks to all of you ❤OCN, for all you do to make life better for those prescious seals.❤ God Bless and Stay Safe❣❣🙏❤❤❤❤
I went into a local park today and the locals looked at me like i was a POS. I was leaving and i saw a female blackbird trapped by her foot in some netted twine which was hooked onto a bush at the other end. She was scared but when she could go no further i managed to get hold of her foot and get it off and release her. She flew off scared like she would but it made my day rescuing a bird that would of died otherwise. She looked so scared, beak in the ground and her other foot gripping the soil like she expected me to hurt her. I didn't have any scissors but luckily i managed to unravel it off her foot.
I have no idea how you spot these things from so far away, and can still catch the seals when they are in such a big group that's running away. It must be exhausting. It's good that there are people who care enough about animals to help them like this. 👍
Really a Couple of Angry Baby Seals!!! As Wally said: They are ferocious!!! Let's pray (for the Team's safety!) that they don't get entangled again as adults!!! 😂😂😂😂 And, Naude, I prefer she bit the net than your hand or your arm!!! Happy weekend, OCN Family!!!!

Is there a food shortage? Viruses? Or is it the result of injuries from all the terrible waste in the ocean? I would very much like to learn more.
I was wondering the same thing. There were a number of seals, mostly looked like smaller ones, that did not move as the crew was running towards their targets.
A good number of them are just solid sleepers. However, they did have a large die-off last year. I'm not sure if they ever found out exactly why, but I believe in more recent livestreams they said the seals were making up for that.
