The german firedepartment trucks ("fire engines") have a hose for quick access. So they can quite immediately start fighting the fire with the water tank's content. Meanwhile other firefighters can start building up the water supply from the hydrant to the truck.
We use to have them on a lot of departments here in America but NFPA got all crazy against them and seldom if ever you see them anymore. Use to put out and fight a lot of fires with those hose reel lines. The London Fire Brigade alone tackles 50,000 fires per year; around 40,000 of these are dealt with using the hose reel. Hose reels or booster lines as we called them as a rule are always my first choice for a rapid attack on fires in vehicles, dumpsters and fires in a fireproof building limited to a couple of rooms. It all boils down to looking at a fire and in 2-3 seconds knowing if you need low or high flow to deal with it. Jut FYI, on the three departments I was in warm weather the pump to tank valve was open both valve to booster reels where open and the guys in the jump seats or compartments could bail out grab a line and the pump operator driver just need to put the engine into pump and rev the engine from the cab for 75% of the time would be all that was needed for a fast knock down.

Police and fire squad came over, cordoned off the area, the EOD was called in and they took the remaining explosives out. They happened to be those things they use to shoot lines from ship to ship.
As a retired fire fighter my advice is for garbage truck crew to immediately dump the load on to the street as soon as it’s determined there is a fire in the body. Garbage is is packed so tight to the truck that it’s impossible to get any good water penetration. If the dump is delayed too long the trucks hydraulics may become damaged and won’t be able to be dumped. Nice Video! 04:19 Why do they always shoot the water on to the ground first? Why not just throw it into the flames?
To check the flow pattern on nozzle and bleed any air, make sure there are no kinks or obstructions to the line etc.
@@simontrucker3624 Well I know all that, but I was thinking that could all be done while putting water on the flames. Thanks for the reply. I been a keyboard firefighter for 15 years now!
@@simontrucker3624 yes, that is correct. We do it everytime.
@@FF5754 Because spraying, what is effectively compressed air, could make the situation worse by blowing burning material elsewhere.
@@heli-crewhgs5285 heck ya, it's like stoking a fire for a few seconds. Most situations wouldn't matter but if inside a structure then for sure bad news. Although never ever go into a structure fire with out a charged line to begin with there too. That hose line is the life line back to the truck if visibility goes away.
cool video
Why didn't they turn on the fire extinguisher and close the dumpster ?
Truck didn't have but one or two
Stops in it 🤣
Love the new mobile incinerators
Why are firefighters and ambulances are soooo slow in the US? :O
First off this is not the US..
this is canada
@@YoungAmbitionYA same shit
De seguro algún celular con batería. Cuando el camión lo agarra y deforma con la compresión. Y ahí se prende fuego
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
No hurry boys. It is just a garbage truck on fire. Take your time.
This is how they handled this in Eindhoven, The Netherlands:

Looks like the truck doesn't have that big a load, surprisingly!
How did dry trash catch fire
this has to be the most aggressive fire attack I've ever seen.
what is that country
Y"all going to have to know the fire extinguisher is not going to put out all fires. Call the fire department. simple as that.
People disposing lithium ion battery from ebike or one wheel or other toy AT THE WRONG PLACE. Battery MUST go to recycling for good reasons!
Funny hearing "pumper truck". So used to hearing "Engine" in the .U.S
I thought it was a Tesla on fire, but it was just a dumpster fire. The difference being the Tesla is a shit show in a dumpster fire.
Good thing the truck was mostly empty, probably only one dumpster worth of trash in back.
I bet that sandwich shop smells terrible for days...
They make good sandwiches at that place!
Next time dumped the load on the ground so the firefighters have easier access not to mention that you'll save the truck
