1-We use 4A/L in case of Reynolds number (in fluid dynamics and Forced convection) whereas A/L in case of Grashof number.(Free Convection) 2- 4A/L for finding characteristic dimension of a pipe of any cross section shape. Whereas A/L for finding characteristic dimension of horizontal surface (in case of Free Convection)
If the fluid (while flowing) occupies only half of the cross sectional area then Characteristics length L will be L= (4*(Cross-sectional Area))/(wetted perimeter) =(4*(pi/8)*D^2)/((pi/2)*D+ D) = (pi/(pi+2))*D (where D= internal diameter of the pipe ) right or wrong?
When the flow is occurring in an open channel how to calculate characteristics length, and when the fluid jet is coming from nozzle and enters into a rectangular channel which length to be taken? Sir please clarify these
sir Im using EXERGIC and bought test series too, I had completing topic wise tests but from heat transfer the test was not coming...please take a look on it sir... I want to know where my loop holes are...
