@David Alexandria Library is not a good place for students. it's just a good architecture and it should have better design than that, for students and researchers the national library in Cairo is the best.. in that old building with no fantasy design but you will feel the value inside when simply you can find a lot of original versions of books, news archives and manuscripts. the second place I personally recommend Helwan Central library in the university I think it has more books than Alexandria Library

If you ever came back just give it another chance. All in all I’m so glad you loved the city and it’s people ♥️

Hi Doug, Hope you're enjoying Egypt so far 😃 Not sure if you're still in Cairo, but it will be a perfect opportunity for you to visit the new National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, which will inaugurate today its royal mummy hall, featuring the mummies of 22 of the most famous kings and queens of ancient Egypt. Just have a look, I'm sure it will be exceptional :)
I lived in Alexanderia my whole life, I'm an Egyptian and I just love that vid. of yours. You went to places I even didn't go to. 😂 I hope u had a good time man💕
I love your videos in general always honest, genuine, and respectful to whichever culture you interact with. now I'm in love with the Alexandria videos because it's my hometown, thank you for sharing your experience with us. ❤❤❤ I've been a volunteer at the library for 5 years now and I agree it's not an idly place for a tourist to just hang around but it has a schedule of concerts, opera, underground bands, famous pianists, all sorts of fairs including activities for all ages these might interest tourists but unfortunately, you missed them maybe next time XD
Because I'm from Alexandria, I can tell you montaza palace really is a wonderful place, it looks like a paradise, and all that beauty you had seen was much more beautiful before, I wish you had visited this amazing place years ago to enjoy its real beauty
You are entertaining when you vlog. And even through the library may not have been the best or let you down it’s still best that you stayed another night just so you can say to people that you visited the library.
Hi Doug , you made my day by the this video of my home town , especially i am living outside Egypt since 9 years , you are right about biblotica Alexandria , it is just a good place for nice outside landscape from inside nothing very special, and by the way we have a famous quote ın Egypt " أسكنرية أجدع ناس" alex people are the most generous
Dude this is a library not a theme park 😁 not sure what you expected but it surely a great architectural masterpiece & one of the largest physical libraries & cultural centred in the Mediterranean! Lovely video though 😎
yeah i get that, i just thought it was strange how many people that i met in alexandria kept telling me how this was the #1 thing i HAD to see in alex. like i agree with you, it’s not a tourist attraction and if so many people didn’t tell me that, i probably wouldn’t have gone haha.
As an Alexandria who was born abroad and lived my whole life in Europe ... I cried while watching your video ... even tho I’m every summer in ALEX I still miss it very much ... thank you for reminding me how beautiful my hometown is...
Doug, your videos of Egypt are great. I love your style and simplicity. Believe it or not, it's definitely Egyptian :) Doesn't matter what they have or how little there of. They'll gladly share it to make someone else other than themselves happy. Think about it. If everyone lived to make his fellow human happy, what a world this would be! Is it any wonder Egypt is the cradle of civilization? You've done a lot on your trip to Egypt. Believe it or not, there is a lot more to do, even some more of the same....and now that you have drank from the Nile, you will for sure come back to Egypt. You might even bring your children after you have them :) Enjoy and please help Egypt and the Egyptian people by correcting this falsehood that Egypt is not a safe place to be in. Best of luck on your next stop.
Cornish is actually an italian word means border and it refers to the whole sea side in Alexandria, so when you were asking the Mashrouo3 if they were heading to cornish they probably didn't understand you :) you were always at the cornish side

Thanks for this showcasing my city. The neighbourhood towards the end with the foul stand is where I spent my childhood, classic alexandrian spot 👌
Doug , you are doing a great job, exploring Lovely Egypt and the friendly hatred Egyptians. I wish I could join you.
i totally enjoyed this video bec. it gave me the chance to appreciate my gorgeous city through someone else's eyes...and it didn't disappoint 😁 plus, you look like you were having a good time and that's always fun to watch....hope you come back for another visit soon 👍
You are most welcome Doug... Waiting for you in November to enjoy a different and not less enjoyable tour in Upper Egypt. Best of luck.
this library history is amazing it was burned twice one by mogals and one by crusaders , but it stood so high and above all and one of most historical library in egypt . 😊❤️
Omg you ate at one of the most famous Fol and falafel cars at the end of the video i like this car .. i watched your Egypt series before but here i am once again cuz its adorable 🤩 thanks Doug n hope you'll get back soon to Egypt ❤
Doug, you are doing a great job taking Egypt and Egyptians to thousands of your fans and followers, carry on and best of luck on the rest of your trecs!
19:59 mate you are so so close to the tram (metro) you really got on well with Egyptian norm. I lived in Egypt for quite long time I know how exciting life there can be. Stay well and enjoy.
Proud of my dad because he was the one who designed the furniture of the library!!
Heyyy I’m from Alexandria, I just watched your video and I love it, you got me hooked up with how impressed you were with the regular things in Alexandria and how down to earth you are with the people so keep going 😍💪🏼 there’s only one thing I wanted to tell you, maybe you weren’t fascinated by the Biblioteca Alexandrina that much because you didn’t take the whole tour inside, there are a lot other museums than the one you’ve been to (cultural/ historical/ public figures and more) there’s also the Planetarium Science Center it’s really cool, usually when tourists go there they have a guide to show them around the whole place. If you ever came back just give it another chance. All in all I’m so glad you loved the city and it’s people ♥️
Ramadan Mubarak 🙏❤🇪🇬
رمضان كريم يسطا
Thanks for coming
I visited this library for 4 times but it's more fun when I watch you going their
the montaza palace area is undergoing restoration and overall upgrades in terms of the like seaside walkway area, as well as upgrading some gardens, i think there will also be a museum there if im not mistaken, and yeah loads of other stuff it should be pretty exciting
I am from Alexandria and l am Egyptian, thank you for the great video it is really beautiful, good, Alexandria is amazing city and welcome to Egypt 🇪🇬❤,keep going 👍❤
Hi Doug, Hope you're enjoying Egypt so far 😃
Not sure if you're still in Cairo, but it will be a perfect opportunity for you to visit the new National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, which will inaugurate today its royal mummy hall, featuring the mummies of 22 of the most famous kings and queens of ancient Egypt.
Just have a look, I'm sure it will be exceptional :)
You are a very likable person and I love watching your videos. I'm a follower from Saudi Arabia
The library was underwhelming for me too when I visited it 15 years ago. But I loved the underground museum of antiquities.
I've been a volunteer at the library for 5 years now and I agree it's not an idly place for a tourist to just hang around but it has a schedule of concerts, opera, underground bands, famous pianists, all sorts of fairs including activities for all ages these might interest tourists but unfortunately, you missed them maybe next time XD
Thanks so much for watching!!!
Thank you for visiting my country I hope you enjoyed your stay 🇪🇬go Egypt 4 life 🇪🇬
Alex is the most beautiful city for most of Egyptians it's called * bride of the Mediterranean sea* though am from Cairo but I adore it ❤️❤️
yepp that's my town😍 I'm so glad that you enjoyed your time in Alexandria🥰
Because I'm from Alexandria, I can tell you montaza palace really is a wonderful place, it looks like a paradise, and all that beauty you had seen was much more beautiful before, I wish you had visited this amazing place years ago to enjoy its real beauty
True
I'm also from Alexandria
what is different before n now?
I am an Alexandrian. Thank you for visiting and we are happy to see you in Alexandria
You are entertaining when you vlog. And even through the library may not have been the best or let you down it’s still best that you stayed another night just so you can say to people that you visited the library.
Hi Doug , you made my day by the this video of my home town , especially i am living outside Egypt since 9 years , you are right about biblotica Alexandria , it is just a good place for nice outside landscape from inside nothing very special, and by the way we have a famous quote ın Egypt
" أسكنرية أجدع ناس" alex people are the most generous
Dude this is a library not a theme park 😁 not sure what you expected but it surely a great architectural masterpiece & one of the largest physical libraries & cultural centred in the Mediterranean! Lovely video though 😎
yeah i get that, i just thought it was strange how many people that i met in alexandria kept telling me how this was the #1 thing i HAD to see in alex. like i agree with you, it’s not a tourist attraction and if so many people didn’t tell me that, i probably wouldn’t have gone haha.
I felt calmness and serenity watching this vlog.
You are really easy going and fun to be with kinda person , hope I meet you in person one day . Stay safe mate .
Thanks so much!
So, being away from home for almost 2 years now. I really enjoyed watching your video and your day was so normal for any Egyptian and also nostalgic!
thanks man!
حلو انك بتعرف تتكلم شوية عربي 🥺👏🏼
It’s amazing that you can speak a bit of Arabic
Hi Doug i am from ALEXANDRIA and your vedio was great and honest Ihope you enjoyed in the city
As an Alexandria who was born abroad and lived my whole life in Europe ... I cried while watching your video ... even tho I’m every summer in ALEX I still miss it very much ... thank you for reminding me how beautiful my hometown is...
Man I didn't see my home for almost years now, Thanks for taking me back.
Thanks man.
Thank you so much!!!! I'll definitely be back :)
Looking so happy 😀 with your showing, moreover great landscape. Thanks 🙏 for sharing
Cornish is actually an italian word means border and it refers to the whole sea side in Alexandria, so when you were asking the Mashrouo3 if they were heading to cornish they probably didn't understand you :) you were always at the cornish side
ahhhhh thanks 😂
REALLY WONDERFUL Doug !!!!!! you really deserve watching !! I followed your tour to the last bit . MY REGARDS TO YOU FORM ALEXANDRIA CITY CITIZEN .
