Like always great video Liam. Some really dope shots here! It’s great to see your photos and aesthetic evolving with the new learning curve of the Leica.
I shoot a Fuji X100V and last week purchased a Leica M240 and a CV 35 1.4 lens and so far I love using it. The simplicity of the camera and the images it produces just make it fun... Great video as always....
Its important for me that you choose to shoot with a camera that you just LOVE using. That way we get to see MORE Street Notes. Yayyyyy. Funny.... you're looking at the top shelf.... im rummaging the Bargain Basket 😄😄 Got my eye on x2 Chinon lenses currently sat at 99p. 😀✌
Haha, fair enough, Steve. Someone once told me (when I was trying to pick kitchen hardware) that I have expensive taste 😅 I guess they’re right. 99p sounds much nicer.
@@TheLiamGordon there's something very special about creating a Keeper using a bargain lens. Quite often these cheap lenses are only cheap because they're fully manual... less people want a manual focus lens but I find it adds to the fun. 😀👍✌
@@stevesvids there’s an idea that newer/faster/easier/expensive = better. Of course we know that’s not necessarily the case but it’s hard to shake off that perception
@@TheLiamGordon i think if your shooting for yourself it simply has to be a camera and lens that you just adore playing with, and adore the results. If your shooting pro, images for a third party, then thats a different ball game relevant to the clients requirements and expectations. Its a complex algorithm that we have to work out in our heads to find the right set up. Catch you on the next one boss. Thanks for the vids, the photos, the company and the inspiration 👍✌
Hi Liam, I will be very interested to know what approach you took for focussing. Did you use the rangefinder much or did you rely on zone focussing and hope for the best? One other point, Leica do make more "modern" technology cameras as well of course (SL2 and Q2) but it would still be very hard to argue that they are worth the price or that their technology is state of the art!
I mostly zone focused, George. I did the same with the x100 so I’m somewhat used to it, it does feel a little more blind on the Leica though. I should have specified Leica M’s. I know a few folks who love the original Q and do great with it. Even if it’s also pricey :)
I have a problem with this video Liam, why do some you-tubers insist on showing their hairy legs? (haha). Nice photo walk and I don’t care which camera brand you decide to use, I’m still going to watch your videos. As always, be well and stay safe.
For me, no matter how much I disagree with Leica's pricing, the M camera represents simple basic photography where less is more. Personally, many of the new digital cameras are over complicated and take the skill and fun of photography.
I always used to argue that I could choose to use a camera in that simple manner. I used my X100 in manual & manual focused. But ignoring the tech vs not having it at all was quite different once I had the Leica. While I agree and wish the prices of the Leica M were much lower, I think if they made them more accessible it would remove the prestige and eventually tank the whole brand. I’ll make my peace with the cheapest body and 3rd party lens for now 😅
To be honest, I use Voigtlander lenses on my Leica as I cannot tell the difference from one lens to another, what makes the shooting experience is the simplicity in the handling of these M bodies. Unfortunately, if Leica drops its prices, the brand won't last long because that's not how companies run in the West, can't compare to the lower cost of living and manufacturing in Asia. I think there's enough of variety for us photographers to choose from according to our budget and I definitely don't want any more brands to disappear.

Thanks so much! Hopefully it keeps evolving positively 🤞

Nice one! Hope you keep enjoying both cameras!

love the umbrella guy photo! :D
Thanks very much! 🙏
I liked 5:28 really good shot.
When Cartier-Bresson chose a Leica in the 1930s it was the only miniature format camera out there.
Thanks Joel! Oh really? I knew there were less options back then but I didn’t know Leica were the first.
LG, nice video... several good shots. I think Leica suits you. JT
Thanks 🙏 it’s been serving me well so far :)
Liked for the motorbike and umbrella scenes. Very decisive.
Totally felt the disappointment on screwing up some shots that could have better framing.
Thanks Dennis. The more I disappoint myself the closer I get to a shot I love haha 😆

It’s for the likes 😂🦵 I appreciate you watching even when it’s not Fuji anymore 🙏
