    Nice review guys. FYI the aluminium surfaces on the M262 are anodised, not black chrome (you can't chrome plate aluminium).

    Can't wait to review my first Leica. I bought one from an auction - but it was broken sadly.
    Love this channel guys.

    Just ordered the 262 - was super worried about "brassing" but it seems like you guys put it in perspective for me :D Thank you

    Nice overview. A couple of questions though. Any sensor dust issues and how robust do you think the rear command buttons will be in long term use? Reason? Used prices are coming down so I’m seriously considering buying. Thanks.

    No love for the M8? That camera produced gorgeous images as only a ccd sensor could.

    Good video guys, I like the 262 a lot. Strikes me as almost a purists digital M , with only the essentials you need.

    Great comparison but please go wash your mouth out. The M8 is not an atrocious camera.

      crop sensor that requires external IR filter. Nah. I'll pretty much always pass on that.

    • @CountryHouseGent
      @CountryHouseGent 7 років тому +7

      Brooklyn Shooters Channel
      Crop sensor offering more than enough resolution for anyone outside of a print exhibition. Lack of an IR filter providing unequalled and much favoured black and white conversions. Sure the shutter cocking sounds like the landing gear extending on a 747, but atrocious? No. :)

      All relative; they are both lighter than my Nikon D5. By the way, the reason I started buying Leica is because I loved the M8; first Leica M I bought. The IR cut out filter is not a deal breaker at all. These two gentlemen reminded me of the shoppers in a Rolex watch shop comparing various designs but I am yet waiting for a Rolex that can tell me a more accurate time than my cheap solar powered watch which synchronise itself to a remote atomic clock.

    Hey... Hello . I wanna use the black tape to care about my Leica MP black paint body. so that the camera straps can not scratch the body. so what kind of tape is my choice ? Thank you ~~~

    Isn't the m8 made of brass top and bottom, why would it wear to silver?

    Would love that you guys toned down the technical aspect and focused on the usability aspect. You are in a beautiful city and you could take advantage of that. Showing us the camera in is natural habitat. Otherwise great work, i see this channel getting big.

    Is the sensor really the same. I heard the 262 is the same 24mp but is actually a new sensor. Can you confirm? Love my 262 by the way, and my M6.

    • @BrooklynShootersChannel
      @BrooklynShootersChannel 8 років тому

      From what I'm told it's the same sensor although I think the engine has been tweaked a bit after using the M240 for the past two weeks and comparing files.

    • @brettpatching
      @brettpatching 8 років тому

      +Ben Reeve I've seen Leica marketing it as a slightly different sensor, but from what I could read elsewhere, it is the same sensor - but they are using the units that aren't up to spec for video in the M262.

    That new leica cmos sensor is laughable compared to a7rii sensor. I can not understand why luxury companies won't put the best components in their products. Same with Vertu, for example.

  • @hairybanana9668
    @hairybanana9668 8 років тому

    yeah , too much talking about your feelings and zero images , even if it is the same sensor sample pics say more then repeating the same thing over and over.
    Just as an aside , I often wonder why anyone would even shoot a digi leica if what attracted you to the brand in the first place is form and quality,
    I love leica but I get better digital files from other gear then anything the red dot has produced .

    • @BrooklynShootersChannel
      @BrooklynShootersChannel 8 років тому +1

      Shayne, if you listened there is a Flickr gallery with many full Res sample images. Check the video description and continue not buying Leica gear. Thanks!

      +Shayne McGowan I don't feel like regurgitating spec sheets and numbers. If that's the kind of information you're looking for then you might feel more at home at DXO Mark or DP Review. Showing images from the same sensor that just have minor tweaks isn't going to matter much after a preset in LR anyways.
