I live on Arran, and the ferries have been challenging this winter. The boat is busy all year with residents as we have to travel to the mainland regularly for hospital visits, shopping, and visiting family. However, tourist levels are down because people are finding the media representation of visiting here poor because of ferry unreliability. Our island is beautiful all year round. Aww yea, I've also thought that the media constantly talks about ferries being unreliable, which is just not fair if it means that less tourists are visiting. And as you say, Arran is beautiful all year round!
Really good day trip. I particularly enjoyed the whisky tasting with associated reactions and the fact that the subtitles for the You Tube intro video had Cal Mac pronounced as Cow Mac. I must pay another visit to Arran - we went in 2019 for 3 nights staying at the Douglas Hotel just opposite the ferry terminal - it was excellent.
