it’s really quiet in the mall that it echoes as you speak. also, you might’ve noticed there’s no CD store, which was the only store that had me going to the mall for until they had a clearance sale at the end of 2021 and told me they will no longer rent the place, and they later even stopped selling CDs completely, very saddening, but definitely understandable. even cambodians now prefer to have the original cd/blu ray instead of the cheap pirated cd-r. and even physical medias now aren’t as relevant in cambodia compared to countries that have physical media market like walmart/target/HMV.
I want you to try walking in a department store in Bangkok and you will see the differences between Thai department stores and Cambodian department stores.
No customers in the mall because there’s bigger shopping centres that have recently opened like Aeon Mall and Chip Mong Mega Mall which recently opened in 2020 so most customers generally go to those stores because it’s newer and more modern!
It used to be very crowded back in 2010-2018, now it's barely running. (Lucky is carrying the whole mall)It got impacted by other malls stealing its shine. I used to go there a lot in 2015 at 5. I had so many memories there. I can say from my experience, it started losing money BC people weren't going to the mall. By 2017, people were losing interest and many stores closed down.
I went to that gaming center and smells like cigarettes. I don't smoke and hate that smell. Btw, do you mind me asking this question? I know you are an Aussie but what is your ethnicity? Chinese? Korean?
No one even go to this mall. This mall is now just there for the sake of being there. It was popular when I was small but it has changed. We have other malls Aeon Mall, Chip Mong Mall, KMall, etc.
@@travellingwithmaz i recommend you visiting The Ground Market and 60M Mall (they have food street there) also EuroPark if you want to go somewhere sit and chill during the day.

Yeah this is more like those flee market type of malls, same in the US we have them too not many people and not very popular.
I think it’s just been overtaken by the bigger malls such as Aeon Mall and Chip Mong
