Welcome to our walking tour of Zakopane Poland 4k.
Zakopane is one of the most famous mountain cities in Poland. Zakopane is a town in the extreme south of Poland, in the southern part of the Podhale region at the foot of the Tatra Mountains. Zakopane is a centre of Goral culture and is often referred to as "the winter capital of Poland". It is a popular destination for mountaineering, skiing, and tourism.
We have visited for a day only. If you are there for one day you should definitely visit Krupowki street and Market on the way to Gubalowka train.
At Krupówki, there are most of Zakopane's restaurants, pubs, clubs, discos, and shops. It's a place that is teeming with life almost all year round. A place where you can buy anything from oscypki (sheep's cheese which is a traditional Podhale delicacy) to souvenirs, clothing, groceries.
The local Gubalowka market in Zakopane is nestled in between the very foot of the Gubalowka hill and the beginning of the Krupówki Promenade. You can find local souvenirs (woodware, leatherware, wool ware, etc.) there together with leather jackets and fur coats, clothes, shoes, fruit, vegetables, and a whole alley of local OSCYPEK sheep cheese sellers - all in different shapes and sizes.
