Ever wanted to help from afar? I did, I was tensing with each try & almost cheered when he got the mast up. Then he glides into the wind & sails away on a beautiful looking wooden sail boat. Wonderful.
15:36, wow, the vista from Acle Bridge there, how awesome is that. And, hats off to the solo sailor who perservered in getting that mast up. Fair play, not easy in that heat, yet he managed it and off he went.
I'm glad the chap managed to get his mast up (as Robert the Bruce would say "try, try and try again"). I agree with Martin though, a few more pounds of lead on the counterweight might have made the job a little easier... 😄 I can't help but notice that almost all boats, like caravans, seem to be a boring white these days. Gone are the days when you could recognise the home yard of a broads cruiser or yacht, by it's distinctive livery or its yard 'burgee' flying proudly on the bow... It looked a very warm day, I hope you managed to nip into 'Curtis Stores' (sorry, can't remember it's new name) for a well deserved ice cream, after filming... Oops, almost forgot to mention, beautiful shots of the hovering Kestrel.
@@Newnamesameme2 was lovely to have a ‘free day’ to relax by the water with you again in the 🌞 and the tan top up is always good 👍 hope yours is ok too 😵💫 x
Thanks Bob, glad you enjoyed it. ⛵️ The bit I left out was him having a well earned rest and drink before doing the sails . A truly great day. Thanks for watching 🛥⛵️
great video , nice to see a different location , so many new big boats that i'd never seen before , & such odd shapes too , i felt really sorry for that guy with the yacht , it looked like he was really struggling , you'd have thought one of those lads walking past would've helped , glad he finally did it . 👍
Lovely new location and plenty going on, great to see. Although there wasn't a "Challenger" this time, there was a sister boat "Pink Champagne" going past. Thanks again, great viewing...John
Thank you John. Glad you enjoyed it. I rather liked this location. I dare say you’ll be seeing more of here soon 😀. When you’re out all day, there are certain things you need. Car park close by, cafe and facilities 😉. Here ticks all those boxes. Yes Pink Champagne, same boat 😀🛥 As always, thank you for watching and commenting.
4:42 I did a double take when 'Charleston' went by. I almost thought it was a new build. However, turning to the trusty Boat Details of Boats of the Norfolk reveals that she was built in 1990 as Gazelle 2 for Ludham Marine (where the famous bridge is). Then she went to Broadwater Boats and became Broadwater Gazelle. In 2004/05 she was sold to a private buyer who renamed her back to Gazelle before becoming Charleston.

Yes we were willing him on. He got there in the end. A gorgeous boat, I totally agree.

He did an amazing job. I could easily have made the footage a lot shorter but felt I owed it to him, to show the whole story ⛵️

Not a bad days filming and I have never seen so many privately owned boats out and about in one day!
Wasn’t it a brilliant day. Thanks for joining me.
Nice to have my “spotter” back again . Certainly lots happening. How’s the sunburn 🥵

I see it’s your husband’s birthday today. Wish him a happy birthday from me.
Great video, thank you. I think the guy with the mast must be a descendant of Robert the Bruce; if at first you don't succeed, try. try, try again.
Thanks Bob, glad you enjoyed it. ⛵️

Ah I see your difficulty guv, you're having trouble getting it past your fulcrum point 😶

I saw a video of a hire boat almost out to sea in Yarmouth earlier. 🤦🏻♀️ filmed either today or yesterday.

Good evening and Hello to you and your friend, going to love this Acle video. Let me know if you'd like some info about any boats.
Oooo yes please, the fancy one turned in front of me and moored opposite. Sophistication on the moorings ❤️

Goodness, thank you.
Did you miss it later at 19:15?
Not sure, but I think that Ludham Marine was based at Womack Water, where the shop is now. The boatyard at the bridge is Ludham Bridge Boats.
That Hunter's yacht needs a tad more counterweight. Dangerous business...
