i haven't cooked a full slab of spare ribs in a long time, usually square them up to st Louis... but now feeling inspired and cooking them as is( with minimal trimming) thanks for sharing Alton!
Thank you sir. I really appreciate the love. We've had a "challenging" past year + over here. We are hoping to get back into the swing of things and produce more consistent uploads. I appreciate you hanging in there with me though.
Simple cook…. And. Good one. Have the exact same grill, 4 months old. Like you, I like the spare rib.. trimmed as you do. I do like losing the membrane…so I can get a bit more spice on that side, and render a bit more fat. The wife likes ‘em that way! Is slightly prefer doing this on my WAM, but I’m gonna try a smoke tube next rib cook. Great vid, brother.
@@TheDawgfathasBBQ I’m using the promotion to get the rack extender, Grill Grates… which I use on my Weber Spirit II… wish I could use them in my WSM lower rack for burgers… haha. Also getting the Grease drip kit and bucket. It’s a very good deal. Cheers my broth-ah.
Dawg Father as ever you are educating me from across the pond in the 🇬🇧. Can i ask do you ever use Rhubarb for marinating or homemade BBQ sauce. . Thanks and keep the good work going . M
Dawg!! I’m close to purchasing the Silverbac Alpha. Agree on spare ribs. I also leave the knuckles. Seems like some extra insulation for the good stuff. I do score the membrane. Thanks for this vid!
They look amazing! I am making some for Sunday dinner! My question is, if my boys like ribs with just the rub and not the sauce, do I need to stop at the point of the rub being put on or do i still need to continue with the rest of the cook minus the sauce. BLESS!
Sauce is always an OPTION. I often make no sauce ribs. Just cook them as usual but don't apply any sauce to them. They'll be great! If you control your temps well enough you can also do no wrap ribs that will also be just as tender. Just keep them moist throughout the cook. But remember to only spritz the ribs AFTER your rub has set. Thanks for watching and commenting...
Thanks Steve. And yeah you are right. I watched it this afternoon and thought the same thing that the music needed to drop down a tad bit more. Thanks for the feedback.
Really enjoy your videos! I want to do some spare ribs on my “New to Me” pellet grill. Specifically, I’d like to make up your rub. The only issue is trying to locate granulated garlic. All I’ve been able to find is either minced or garlic powder. Thanks for your input.
HEY Dawg. You are looking good. Alton I Hope all is well with you and the family. Have a couple racks on ice just waiting. The weather here in WNY is finally breaking. Dang now that I think about it I have a 1/8 of beef in there also. Guess its time to get the pits out and make some room. Great Video as always Brother. Have a new Pellet grill to try out. Looks like a fantastic cook. Thanks for sharing. Keep em coming. 🤪😜🐖😀😃
I go back and forth Jim. It's not totally a must do to make great ribs. And truth be told, when I grill my ribs over open coals, I actually like to chew on the membranes. They are a great source of collagen. That's just a "me" thing I'm sure. lol

NEver had a Pellet grill. Wasn’t sure if the lower grill was the place for ribs. Cool.
I definitely understand the concern. I do typically cook my proteins on the middle or upper rack though.

Hey Dawg, great video. Question: How do i get into the Grilla Grills community? I have a Silverbac. Your thoughts?
Alton, did you use the “pro” option for more smoke, or did you go all PID? And why?

Why did you leave the membrane on?

My absolute favorite food, pork spare ribs! I eat them as often I can! And these are the most delicious I've ever seen!
Thank you for sharing!
Yes indeed. Man, I wish I was on bbq Blvd eating those ribs myself. Love the way you mixed the bbq sauce and vinegar.
Thanks bro. Appreciate you coming through.
You the man! My mouth is watering like I haven't eaten for a week. These are next on my BBQ. Thanks!
Rock on!
